It has been said that the latest toys released by CCP are really only for the 'Big Boys' and require the resources of entire alliances to get them. Today however, is a testament to the dedication of us 'Little Guys' and what that dedication can bring you.
At approxamately, 22:00 hours GMT, The Establishment took delivery from N.A.G.A., its Nyx-Class Mothership. This ship has been the concentration of all our sweat and blood for the last 5 months, a few weeks before they were added by the RMR Expansion. Very little, if any ISK has been spared for our own profits and to finally see the culmination of this hard work makes us all in The Establishment, extremely proud of what we have achieved.
It should be noted that The Establishment built most of the required components by its own hand and any other work was shared between co-investors in the BPO's (including the Nyx BPO itself) we were working with. We hope that this co-operation gives hope to other small corps out there looking to aquire one of these magnificent vessels.
Our only dissapointment, is that TRUST beat us to it in getting a Nyx a few days before us. However, due to an unforseen bug and also transportation of the finished parts, the construction of our own Nyx was delayed by almost 2 weeks. Despite this, we feel no less proud of our achievement and it is our hope that this announcement is met with some surprise ;)
The Establishment would like to sincerely thank N.A.G.A and our co-investors in this project for their assistance and hope to have continued good business relations with all involved.
As for the future of The Establishment, well we'll keep that to ourselves. But we want it to be known that The Establishment is availiable for hire, so please contact us if you are interested in using our services. This concludes our statement.
Kind Regards
Angel CEO of The Establishment - We arr so yarr! http://www.wearrsoyarr.com ======================= The Establishment is at your service...

Points for style if you can pull off a sort of nomadic existence with it. We're roaming mercenaries/pirates and this is our home...
Nice to see something different. If you can manage the logistics that Nyx can at least fit in a pretty significant amount of stuff (though not enough of BS to matter. 20 Thoraxes for example.). Plus there's always the clone stations. And finally if it can keep up with the regular ships it does pack a serious punch with that mothership fighter bonus.

The Establishment have no affiliation with Shinra other than most of us are former members. Besides Shinra and co have been attacking N.a.g.a's space which is hardly in line with helping our project

I wanted to do that with Reavers, but at the time there were no capital ships lol...and now that their are, they dont seem to lend well to nomadic lifestyles despite what it looks like (mainly talking about a Titan)...or am I mistaken?

Just bare in mind, that if you cloak with fighters out you can loose them as they often just de-spawn. Almost learnt that one the hard way while trial running a carrier

Why should this concern them? Nyx is uneffected by any type of EW, so she can jump out even with 100 points of scrambling, and I assume intredictor bubble cant stop it from jumping either?
Anyway, congratz :) hopefully we will find out soon enough how to destroy Nyx class carriers ---------------------------------------------- All my posts are my own opinions and dont not represent any organization until stated otherwise. |

2006.04.05 20:46:35 combat Templar belonging to Ign0raMus barely misses you.
Was I the first person to be fired upon by this great behemoth that you have constructed?
At first, I thought, "Oh no, they've got themselves a shiny new toy and the first thing they are gonna do with it is come out wipe out a load of NPC'ers and their POS's who have nothing to do with them...."
Fortunately for us, that didn't happen; although it has got me wondering about this game again...
Congrats on the acheivement anyways. It must have been extremely painful for such a small corp to invest in such a big thing.

Your most welcome Too bad I missed getting some fraps of it due to being stuck at a POS in an indy waiting for a hostile -LV- fleet to go away
Seems everyone wants to pick on the peacefull little carebear industrial alliance lame
p.s. That was a nice little collection of faction ships you showed up in. & don't let anyone critisize that beautifull gallente masterpiece, anyone that thinks gallente ships are ugly obviously hasn't seen those scrapheaps the minmatar call ships, wich btw we won't be able to build any minmatar carriers for awhile, we havn't found a large enough supply of tin foil, popsicle sticks, & duct tape

What is a mothership going to do to a POS? Assign fighters? Its not a seige weapon.

Why should this concern them? Nyx is uneffected by any type of EW, so she can jump out even with 100 points of scrambling, and I assume intredictor bubble cant stop it from jumping either?
Anyway, congratz :) hopefully we will find out soon enough how to destroy Nyx class carriers
Obviously this requires testing, but it seems logical that the only way to scramble a ship that does not allow ECM to be activated upon it is to do it passively with interdictors or warp bubbles. Those means of warp scrambling are not technically ECM and they cannot even normally be countered by stabs etc.
I guess G or Establishment will have to let us know if bubbles stop them.

Yea we have yet to test passive scrambling on them. Still even if it does work a good officer Smart Bomb should take care of that problem rather nicely

Due to its rather odd shape, I think the smart bombs have a very strange area of effect that in some directions exceeds its normal range limitations. Im not 100% sure but I can swear blind that when I had to get rid of some pests earlier that the smart bomb hit somoene suposedly out of my range.
Guess this is another thing i'll need to investigate

As ridiculously huge overkills go, that's a pretty good one. Gatecamping in the thing? Or maybe even belt piracy? One thing that definitely caught my attention there was the mobility. You covered some serious distance there in a hurry, Placid to Derelik in one evening.

Empire space is understandable enough. Why's that? There is absolutely no way to stop a mothership in empire. It can't be EWd, it can't be scrambled. It's got fairly extreme mass so it's hard to bump. Only bubbles and interdictors. Neither of which are available.

May as well respond to both of these as one
We have been loading supplies and ships in Assah before moving it out. Some people have decided to be a minor anoyance by attempting to bump it with shuttlecraft so I decided to have an equal amount of fun by smart bombing them. Alas, some inocent shuttles and pods may have also been caught in the attempt
Originally by: Cmi Labudovi Well their carrier used to be based in TA3T, its probably based in an empire POS in Assah.
As Ange1 has just stated we dont use POS (We dont need to having these ships). Funny to note tho that right after our arival the number of pos in this system has risen...

Nothing wrong with smartbombing someone bumping the nyx Not like they are actively hunting shuttles with the nyx ^^
POS going up would be entirely unrelated, only question would be to put one up or not while you grace the system with that behemoth

It was always our intention to have one single character in it for its whole operational life. This isnt a bad thing as its going to take a lifetime to maximise its skills.

I like how Establishment uses it. Ignoramus in the nyx is usually in Q61Y in upper east Venal, which is a kind of HQ. Kitambo in the recon cruiser catches a bs and deploys cyno next to the prey and SWOOSH! nyx + 35 fighters kill it :) I know, almost got ganked by it.
They are pretty much always in that area ganking stuff if anyone want to try and take it down.
Good job at getting it in first place

After we passed you today we meet a camp with 4 dominix' and 1 raven, incl minor support. We had 2 BS, mega and Navy Raven. We knew they had nos' galore and ECM, so we bait em using the Navy Raven and cyno in the MotherShip while your two interceptor pilots holde two of the dommies down... We lost 1 interceptor, they lost two fully T2 fitted dominix' and did not have a camp afterwards
