Much thanks to Friederick Psitalon and all others who contributed to this thread for an excellent overview of great value to new players such as myself (12 days in). I found this guide to be very informative and enlightening.
As much as I'm loving this game, if there's one thing it could use is more documentation. At least noobs like myself can visit forums and occasionally find great guides like this one.
I'd like to help by converting the Word document into PDF and hosting it for others. I have tweaked the doc with some fresh formatting and added EVE-style font headers, but the great guide itself is still untouched and now can be enjoyed in PDF with improved formatting and bookmarks for each section.

It is rare to see such class and generosity as exhibited by the author of this guide. While the rest of the comments here and the "corrections" made by various others have been informative, they are vulgar in comparison to the exemplary conduct and penmanship of Friedrick Psitalon. My respects.

some good general info, truly enjoyed reading the different doctrines when it comes to survival in eve.
now if you would kindly include hull tanking this will be a complete guide for beginners
reinforced bulkheads anyone? |

can i thank you enough for this guide.
NO.
I may try but would spend enormeous amount of time. But its the thought that counts and i would be thanking few weeks without end but that would just waste both of our time.
what i ment was: there should be more beginner guides like this. Well.. actually not. This will pretty much get me started (*cough* little mining do get ISK to do *cough*)
And what i liked most was that it explained quite few things as needed for beginner. Saying items full names and no ingame slang.
