That's why you fail.
I find it incredibly good fun to destroy stuff, especially when it leads to the north ripping itself apart and putting itself together again. How can you say that isn't fun.
And just ask anyone about my desire to camp people into stations for days on end :p

Not everyone flames about what they are doing on the forums. MCorp/Shinra -V- and several Chimp corps have been involved in a war vs RA for an entire year. The Great Eastern war.

I see that they are big, rich, and a force to be reckoned with. In the 0.0 space I fly in, I haven't encountered them much. So until I see BoB crossing my space and setting up shop, I won't lose sleep over the "BoB is coming to pwn all" hype.
BoB is shaking up the political landscape in an unprecidented way. I have tremendous respect for that. It sounds like a lot of fun on the side of the map, but the universe is too large at the moment and I see more pressing enemies on my horizon. Good luck on sieging the universe BoB.
Note to self, start up a V raid.

Edited by: Snake Jankins on 11/04/2006 10:54:06 I don't know where you have been in the last months, but other alliances do something. North, south, south east, there are wars running for months already with fighting every day.
If you don't read daily news about the RA and friends vs. LV,V,CHIMP,KOS war in the south-east, it doesn't mean that it isn't happening. It is just a lot of work over a long time imho due to the nature of RA ( They've got a strong will to keep their alliance alive and a lot of stamina, not many industrials leaving the alliance, because they can't stand the heat. ) So you can't just go in and after a few lost big battles, they say: 'Oh, noes, we disband !' And we can say: 'Won, next target !' They've lost region after region and probably almost their whole capital fleet and they still don't give up. If you take a station from them they try to get it back as soon as possible.
So there are still things going on besides what BoB does.
P.S.: Btw. from an out-of-character view I think all pvp alliances are on the same side, also BoB. BoB are definitely primarily a pvp alliance. Even if they have a strong industrial side, they'll use it to bring war to 0.0. So even if we get player empires in 0.0, 0.0 won't become a peaceful place. ___________ 'Only ships can be assembled, this is a Frigate.' |

Originally by: Kaiser Before BoB, there was FA and CA. Both very strong and aggressive (FA was controlling directly Fountain, Delve, Querios and Period Basis in the old times). CA was almost fighting everyone else and controlling huge space as well.
Not entirely Accurate ... SA was around at the same time and pounding on CA with FA. Delve, Querious, and Period basis, before the smuggler gates were CFS territories. After the gates, there was a brief CFS/FA war where diplomacy saw the regions in control of the CFS, but stations controlled by FA. That led to other things which led to more things and eventually the forming of FIX.
But that, is a whole differetn chapter in history

that would be goonfleet (who it seems are destined to ebcome more involved in the bOB saga) we need the 0.0 alliacnes recruiting more empire based corps into their fold to really up the anti.

well, the intent was to say that there have been always huge strong alliances, and even aggressive ones; not for an accurate history of that time . yeah, i forgot the old SA and that is a shame.

The next few months of Eve will see many a drama played out in 0.0. It had reached a point of almost stagnation (apart from RA vs LV + friends) mainly because you had the BoB power block and that power block had become so powerful that nothing could stand against it.
Thankfully that power block fractured and that truely was a gift as it opened the door to 0.0 becoming a war zone again. There will be many things happening over the next few months as opposed to a complete standstill and that can only be good for the game. Has BoB reached the peak of their power and become the most powerful single entity in the history of the game, yes. Will this always be the way until the servers are switched off, I really doubt it. Not because of any failing on BoBs part but I doubt this is the ragnorok of the Eve universe.

The power vacuum and threat of BoB in the north has sent everyone scrambling for friends. In the last 4 days we've seen
OSS Alliance created G + friends becomes D2 IRON + friends becomes NFC 5 disbands and becomes E.R.A.
Fate, E-R, Trust have all taken sides and joined pvp alliances
KIA Corp announced it was no longer a mercenary corp and will i suppose join one of the above sooner rather than later.
So as for the future of 0.0? Things will remain unstable and change quickly until we reach a power balance again. Power balance means lots of fun fleet fights but not much changes on the map. Believe it or not BoB does not have enough pilots to challenge anyone and everyone like CA did. They don't want to steamroller everyone. They don't want to be able to waltz into any conquerable region and easily take the stations. They don't want to waltz into any NPC region and watch everyone dock and wait for off-hours to launch small attacks. They just want to make a big splash on the forums.

Well, to be fair. 0.0 the last year has been in a very slow and boring state if you ask my opinion. not enough entities have rolled over and died.
For a while here it looks like (I think it was Oveur who said it) that ccp's vision of smaller more tightknit alliances was coming true. gone were the days of alliances of 2-3000 people and enter the smaller alliances. People dont need more then one constellation anyways right?
Wrong, most constellations in 0.0 have nothing worthwhile. its mostly one system here and one system there that have ore that is worthwhile moving after. If you want to build a real empire, then getting a band of npc'ers together wont help. You will need to break out the old modulated strip miner II's
It looked for a second like the universe would get shaken up but I'm afraid that the north might be going back to just being a superblob again, with more and more corps joining D2. But atleast we'll get a decent scrap now and I get to shoot woody
But back to the topic at hand.
No we are not the only entity in the universe making drama, it takes two to tango. Also it wouldnt be a space opera with just one part. But in the end people need their hate and if hating us keeps them ingame then good. I remember after CA fell when I was in stain alliance, I nearly quit the game in sheer boredom. Running after stabbed up inties day after day isnt really all that fun. I wasnt the only one that left.
People need targets, people also need security. we just got to find the balance. SA had balance back in the days, due to the fact that once in a while someone else came and pounded CA abit aswell, so noone really got the upper hand.
I think we'll all have months of fun yet to come no matter where you live.
except in empire of course. Empire is a bit *** to be honest. especially concord

Christ, lets fan the BoB egos a bit so they can burn brighter.
Its not that BoB is the only alliance doing anything, its that they are forum *****s who want you all to know how great they are and what they are doing.
Real men don't need to brag.

Plenty of alliances are doing things, it's just that when BoB does something they make damn sure everyone knows it.

Originally by: Sales Merchant Fix for example, ran around poking other alliances with sticks under the protection of BOB. They smacked so hard on the forums you would think they had all the spoons, and this this all because they knew BOB had their back. But now they find themselves in a very lonely place.
You sound like someone from an alliance that didn't know when to cash in their chips and walk away from the gambling table :) I hardly saw ANY fix post on this issue, let alone "smack hard" ? I think you're looking in the wrong alliance for smacktalkers.

Just my opinion... but I'll give it. BoB is a large force in this game... and mostly because of things like this post. Belief is the first thing into overcoming an odd... and if you can be made to believe that it is impossible... then you've already lost. Problems with people that stand against them is with the "soloist" additude. Alliances, Corps, and individuals don't seem to want to work together to overcome these odds. So BoB has the "teamwork" and grows more everyday because you make everyone believe "it's the corp to be with"... because no-one else can join together in a fight against them. BoB dies just as easily as anyone else on the map.
In my opinion... BoB will either finally find a force to stand against them and be pushed back... or they will grow beyond their bounds and a internal war will rip them apart. No-one in this game will ever control the whole 0.0 map... Your a dreamer if you ever think that in the remote part possible, because before you've run outta people to fight against... you'll most likely end up fighting with yourself. Good luck on that venture.
