Yeah, it's like what I wish EVE was more like.
It looks like a well-executed example of the form. I've already heard the story too many times to be interested, but for people who haven't been subjected to the nonstop propagation of the tale it's probably a good read.

I like how the speech btw pilots resembles a lot how we roll in EVE :D...Also it is really nice to see EVE from another perspective, ie comick book.
With this perspective and DUST514 EVE is becoming less and less EVEonline and more and more New Eden. I like the turn it is taking, enjoy it very much. It kind a completes the immersion.

Like how about the time I started a war between Frege and Burn Eden when to drone regions were added to the game.
what happened was Frege just negotiated a cease fire between us and them and I decided it would be a great idea to jump in my fully fit ratting domi with all my assests...
lets just say the cease fire was over fast.
both sides were willing to over look the incident but i just had to write in local some not so nice things about thier monthers which lead to use going into foundation space in Great wildlands and purging them.

Eve has a rich history, it shouldn't be wasted and forgotten.
I haven't been able to get it to load for me. I'm guessing it's because too many people are trying to load it at the same time?

I am disappoint that there is no PDF or CBR/CBZ archive available, I understand Dark Horse doesn't want to make it easy for people to copy it... i guess I was just hoping it would be free forever (in which case it'd make sense to allow downloads)

Page 14 is actually a double-page spread. Load it up without using max width and you'll see it's got the same vertical height as all the other pages but double the width.

It finally loaded up and I read it.
I gotta say, first thing I thought when I finished it was that if there's going to be four equal-sized books to this story, it's not going to be as deep as I'd like it to be.
The Eve universe and it's history can really lend itself to some Watchmen-esque deep psychology, philosophy and social commentary. I know that's setting the bar a little high, comparing it to Watchmen, but aiming high is kind of the whole point of Eve's development.
Eve is populated by very intelligent people, so the writing really doesn't have to hold anything back.
I realize that this is only part one and it's only at the stage where it's, well, setting the stage, but looking at the number of pages used versus the amount of story, I just don't think you can go very deep before running out of pages.
I do love the artwork so far, and the consistency of how a person looks when inside the pod, surrounded by displays, when compared to how it looks in recent trailers. I'll leave the argument of 'that's not how it works in the old canon' for someone else.
If it's still possible, I'd strongly recommend giving the story a lot more pages and really aiming for a smart reader. |

Problem with True Stories initiative was that almost all stories come from null sec alliances who unsurprisingly can ring up a lot more people to vote on their stories. Also it is interesting how killing BoB was somehow GS's doing when it was a single disgruntled director who decided to **** his alliance over. |

So we've gone all Deadpool-like 'kick down the fourth wall' with EVE lore? That's a retcon of Star Trek reboot alternate timeline proportions, isn't it?
Are we now assuming that within the lore, one single consciousness controls multiple EVE personalities? Basically we're all Empyrean Age's Broker? That hurts to even think about from an RP perspective. I'm going to need a lot of Scotch to make this sink in I think.

The Maelstrom alpha'ing a whole field of them I'm happy chalking to creative liberty and expedience.
A little more attention to ship liveries wouldn't go amiss- it's the little things us EVE players are going to notice. |

Damn me if I don't buy the hardcover. I think it will fit well between the novels, between The Art of Eve and my Limited Edition of the source book.
I think it would fit, to add some new station interior in the next two years. No?
Come on, at least bring back the second Gallente hangar before Trinity. I liked the feeling to be in a remote pirate station. |

So I just finished flicking through this first chapter. Love the idea of player events taking on a new medium however I was a little underwhelmed at the ship art.
Station and interior was pretty much standard comic/novel fare but I was hoping to see glossy silly detailed ships. I guess I was hoping for more graphic novel than early 90s comic. After all, we've been spoilt with graphics upgrades, skins, models and zoom based texture/detail but no matter how close I put my face it doesn't get any more detailed :)
