tbh, just changing it to the black/dark grey coulour of the serpentis npc domi's would make me (and probably some other people) very happy.

I think its rather apt that the Domi is a drone ship. In combat it looks like a bunch of flies, flying around a giant steaming turd.

The Domi could maybe do with a new skin texture (preferably a non-brown one) but I like the shape of the model. It looks big and beefy and solid and dangerous (and is echoed in the Gallente titan)
I like the shape of the 'phoon. It looks like a flying armour-plated shotgun.

Is this ship in game as is atm? I've never seen it as a npc ship or on any of the market . Where is it? More importantly , where do I buy it!?

I too refuse to fly domis because of the brown stinkyness!
Just replace it with blue or red.. even steelgrey would be good..
Please why would anyone wanna float around inside a giant poo with flies buzzing around it??

Well, not really much I can contribute rather then my own feelings.
Firstly, I think those bashing the phoon are crazy, it's one of the better looking ships IMHO.
Secondly, I think both the front and the back of the Dominix looks good, it's intimidating in its looks. The side however is a whole different aspect, I would really like a small redesign and different color texturing, otherwise it's a cool looking ship =)

I acctually really like the general Shape of the Dominix, the only thing that Bothers me is that the top is not straight, but slanted backwards. That's what gives it that "I flew into a Ved rock" look.
In general I think that all the old ships should be redone to look cooler and be more detailed. Compared to the newer models they are just not anywhere as nice...

Oh man, you hit on a good one. I love the geometry of that ship's design, but the texturing is a textbook case of how NOT to texture a 3d model... ultra-noisy, high contrast, mis-matched alignments, doesn't really take light (tragic that one)... definitely a redo.

My Dominix Redesign
here, just sketched out a quick redesign of the Dominix that's a little cooler, I want to keep all of the major components of the ship, just spice them up a little, and arrange them in a more visually appealing way. The current Dominix is too front-heavy, with the entire top slanting backwards which makes it look messed up...

I agree that the domi does look a bit 'blobby' but i don't see everyones problem with it being partially brown. Isn't eve supposed to have a more muture player base

Nice sketch. That would be an awesome redesign of the domi. And why cant we buy the Serpentis domis? Those look decent because they are black and shiny and evil-looking. The current domi is a turd with flies (drones) orbiting it.
Good thing you cant smell in space, otherwise all domis would be required to bypass all traffic lanes by 200km because of the stench.

Both the Dominix and Typhoon are brilliant designs. Please don't change a thing, though I would grudgingly accept a Domi colour change if it meant people would quit whining. Wait and see what the new graphic engine models look like.

Fluff wize, it wouldn't be hard to handle a model redesign; nearly everything else has been changed about these ships, so why wouldn't the exteriors change somewhat too?
Sort of the way late model aircraft look markedly different from their early model counterparts.
For the Minmatar, in particulare, the backstory would actually reinforce a significant visual shift in our ships' appearances. The Minmatar have grown from a hard scrabble rebelion into a fully fledged nation, and their ships can reflect that growth. I could see the Typhoon being rebuilt as a more refined, more brutal ship. Sort of like the evolution of the Wildcat into the Hellcat.

I interpret the big green "windows" (especially the more oddly shaped ones) as being sensor platforms.
To me, the Dominix looks like a giant sea cow, with exhausts/thrusters where the "hoofs" would be. All we need is some bottom for them to be grazing on. |

The Domi is my favourite BS in terms of stats but i hate the shape of it, and i can't stand the colour either. I wouldn't worry so much about the design if the colour was at least sorted.
Oh and it's not cause i'm immature, the Enterprise E is a cool looking ship, but i'd despise it if it looked like it was pannelled in oak. Make the Domi, Blue, Dark Red or Silver imo.

Or alternatively make the faction version available, that would be cool. A Serpentis Dominix or a Rogue Drone Dominix would be fun.

domi is too ugly, I'd liek a ship more like the rest of the galleten ships and also some sort of port you can see to host all the drones.
