Neat!
You only have to find a corp already at war with the target and have that corp join your alliance I guess. Now how much trouble pulling that off is I have no idea. |

It takes 24 hours before a corp is actually accepted into an alliance. "I saw him fight by the monument in Jita. He flowed in his Machariel like a Shinto spirit, 800MM shells sprouting in his passing. His hair flowed in the corona of his target's warp core breach. It was truly majestic. And while everyone stared in awe I stole the loot and ran off. Because I am like that." - NEONOVUS |

Sounds like the Wardec equivelant of a hotdrop. Surround the target, join an alliance at war with target and kill target. Or is that not how it works? My YouTube Channel - EVE Tutorials & other game related things! |

OP,
A Good Alliance CEO or an Alliance officer should have done these steps & you would have known what was going on.
First, the Alliance leadership would know when the new corp had applied.
Note: Corp has to wait 24 hours after applying to Alliance to be accepted.
Second, the Alliance leadership would have known if said corp had any wardec(s).
Third & this is most important,
Alliance leadership should have sent out a mail to the alliance at the time the Corp applied to the Alliance, stating that within 24 hours there will be instant wardec(s) affecting the Alliance.
Note: Due to poor Alliance leadership, what happened to you will keep happening. R.I.P. Vile Rat |

Graabeerd Khagah wrote:I too have wondered about the 24 hour time before a war dec goes into effect. And then again I have always thought if you got wardecced it should be immediate, not dragging on like it does. My line of thought on this that instead of waiting around that if you or I were wardecced, then we should have the rights to immediately engage the war deccing corp. or alliance But as it stands now a 24 waiting period is..well...required. That's plenty of time for a corp/alliance to disband and reorganize under a different name/banner. Just for my corp alone I can't afford the price to actually war dec anyone and I can care less, BUT in the same process due to the size of my corp alone would hardly be worth the costs involved. How come I read this as - "I want to insta-wardec my gank targets so I won't get Concorded..."? Anyone with any sense has already left town. |

Batelle wrote:And no one in TEST knew the answer to this? I generally don't get good answers from TEST. It comes as no surprise to me, I've been with TEST quite a bit.
Apparently what happened is a corp joined TEST with a wardec and I wasn't notified that it was about to happen. I think there should be some sort of grace period, if even just 5 minutes. I was lucky to be at station when it happened. Now I'm not sure how much the system is broken and how much to blame on my alliance. I know they seem to love being in wars and have an apathy about what happens in them. If anyone other than me in TEST was the least bit interested in getting back at Marmite, we would have them running with their tail between their legs; but alas it's just me and the occasional newbro who got ganked because he didn't read all of the join-up letters.
So basically what Kyt Thrace said. Fit a warfare link to your tech 1 battlecruiser. Train Wing Commander. Get in the Squad Commander or Wing Commander position. Your fleets will be superior to everyone else's. (had this sig BEFORE Odyssey BC rebalance) And bring back the missile Inquisitor!! |

No, you wouldn't. They'd just make themselves uncatchable (cloaked, safespot while paying attention) till you get bored and slowly start to disperse, then they'll find the singled out guy and go for him. You can't "force" groups like that with sheer numbers.

All you gotta do is plan a sneak attack on them - get a fleet in instalock ships and all undock at once after they attack the bait ship. Might not get em all but will easily get one or two, and what they would lose out of that is probably more hull value than the entire cost of the ships going against them.
Do that on a regular basis and they will think twice about attacking someone who looks vulnerable. They shot any war target that moves because nobody stands up to them. It's a piece of cake really. To be honest even if the OP had been advised by his alliance in a timely and super-efficient manner that a particular corp would become a war target once 24 hours elapsed ... spotting these potential war targets in the masses milling around Jita dock BEFORE they went red in overview was going to be nearly impossible. |

Lol you claiming that Test can outskill and outthink high sec mercenaries? I do not even remember if ever you guys killed a single of our ships...
Second.. we would like NOTHIGN more than wartargets that fight back!! Or you think we find fun on killing whales strained in the beach? We kill those only pass time and make some money.. but we look for targets that fight back "If brute force does not solve your problem..... -áthen you are -ásurely not using enough!" |

Joshua Foiritain wrote:You cant join a corp while in space, you have to dock to accept the final part of the application. You can accept the invitation while in space. Find a potential war target, approach to optimal range, lock target, accept invitation to corp, wt immediately turns red, and then shoot. Not very sporting, and it may be considered an exploit, but the mechanics do currently allow it.
