Faction ships cost insame amounts of money. Perhaps they try to make all LPs for a faction BS BPC in the two weeks trial and sell it.

Quote: Think about how many variables you have to track with a mission macro.
Missions are terribly linear though. Its not farfetched to think that you could write a script for every common kill mission and run 12 raven accounts at once. All you have to do is accept them manually, then let the appropriate macro take over. Its no less complex than Pindlebotting in D2, or gold farming macros in EQ/WoW.
Sure you'd need a good understanding of how missions work, aggro ranges and which spawns to tackle first etc. but its possible.

question- chinese farmer as many ppl call em and a 24/7 geek with no job, difference? corp/alliance, chinese farmer gangs as you call em, again difference?
Besides making RL profit, the mechanics are the same, not?
so these ppl are they to be named "cheaters" cause they fly with same ship/race making ISK? (not to sell for RL cash.)
im confused somewhat, I used to powerlevel in SWG because I wanted to become a jedi, I didnt cheat or anything, but I didnt answer convos when grinding commando in tuskan fortress.
Think the op is going to conclusions to fast. And what is legit and not? if one mines 24/7 half afk not using macro and not selling it for RL cash.
Hmm...
Im a noob, bear with me :P |

Welcome to the world of tomorrow. In 1 year, ISK farmers will be so advanced that you will not be able to distinguish them from regular players at all. The only way Entity is able to bust them is because they made an (simple) mistake. Be glad you have him on your side...

I dunno man, my name is pretty generic, and I do a LOT of missions lately, and I'm not picking up loot. I'm just working towards LVL 2 missions.

Seriously: Looks like the farmers use better naming schemes now. While they used something like 'sdfdslf' and 'asjdfalsjdf' or 'bla01'-'bla09' or something intelligent like 'harddisk' 'ps2mouse' etc. as names before, they actually try something that looks like a name now.

Actually, it is not that hard to make a script for mission running.
Just remember Diablo 2: Bots were doing everything there. From never ending boss runs to leveling. Everything was done automatically, even with selling stuff and putting items of value into your box. All found stuff/level progression was writen to a html file for your convenience...
With every new eve subsription the chance for such scripts rises. If you can obtain screen information you can get infos like armor/cap/overview. Controlling the mouse cursor is easy. Its then just a question of coding good fighting scripts and a script for each mission.

Just to add my piece, I run lvl 4 missions all the time, and I never loot unless its a drone mission. The chances of getting anything worthwhile isn't worth the time it takes to loot. If you want loot you NPC in low sec.
The drone missions are worth it, 3k of zyd, 1k mega, plus others. well thats worth looting drone missions for.
And well does that mean I am not playing the game, no it means I am playing the game my way, not the way someone else would play.
My favorite thing about eve, is that you can play however you want you can do whatever you want. You are not forced to do some action, that you might find boring. Unlike other mmos where you grind mobs for hours to make lvl 60. In eve you can be successful(depending on how you define success) without undocking(granted thats not easy as a noob)

How about they limit trial players to lvl 2 missions? It seems highly unlikly that an actual trial person would spend all of their time missioning with one guy. --------------------------------------------- Make Doomsday weapons available for frigates! |

Skip all missins where you have to bring something back.
A Caracal with hardeners and a large shield extender dont need to watch at it's tank at all in a lvl2 mission. And the payout is compareable with high sec mining.
Simply lock and shoot anything that's a npc rat.
We know that mining macros are quite advanced nowadays. I by myself had some fun with a bunch of bots. They kept sending me invitations to a gang because my name was close to the name of one of the bots. I was able to gain a lot knowledge about those bots that way. And I'm impressed about there abilities.
I'm sure somebody with a lot spare time can build a bot that's able to run most of the lvl4 missions aswell.
Such a bot would solve a lot problems that macro miners got lately with suicide ganks and limited resources. Remember, missions are the one and only unlimited resource in EVE. It's a natural step for isk farmers.

Assuming what the OP has posted is true: 11 characters with similar, unusual names (most people don't use actual names like that, if they do it's usually RP name), created on the same day, all in the same system, all flying the same ship moving around identically none of whom are picking up loot (don't know how accurate that is but assume it's true).
Some people don't pick up loot. Some use names like that. Lots fly caracal for low level missions. However the chance of finding 11 people not picking up loot + with similar, unusual names + flying caracal + in same system + at same time + not responding is negligible. Granted in a game with this many players odd coincidences will happen, but if you see this kind of thing more than once, you can guarantee it's a macro or other co-ordinated effort between those player/s.

However, if someone DOES make a script to run missions, I'll eat my hat.

They can make a script to run missions. It really wouldn't be that difficult in passive tanked missile-ships.

Agreed. Being able to set the overview to work with a text parser(or better, a memory structure that lends itself to being snooped, but that's stretching)brings you very far along that track. As does passive tanking, not using weapons where you have to worry about transversal or optimal, and running lowlevel missions.
Several other tests to pass before I'd stamp them as farmers - collusion(do they ever stray from one another) and rest (do they stay logged in 23h/day) being foremost.
Collision detection is one of the hardest things to do in a 3d 3rd person game. And you don't have to deal with it in Eve.
As for my opinions on Diablo bots - the ingenuity of the scum of the earth in destroying the game for others really restores your faith in humanity sometimes. I watched things like the Annihilus distribution scheme be crac.ked, and wondered what those people would be doing in a later life - discovering new worlds or finding ways to blow up this one most likely. Infact eve missions are actually very easy to script because it is menu driven. Infact it could be prolly even be done with a basic macro program i will bet lol, but a script for sure. You do easy level 2 missions in a cruiser they are like zero risk to dying. The hardest part would be accepting the mission everything else is right click menu driven. Remove everything from the overview but the rat types and deadspace gates and you can use the overview to target/approach/lock.
I would be the farm these are some type of isk farmer running a mission script. Anyone who thinks it is just coincidence that a set of 11 people who started the same time 6 days ago are still playing and doing the exact same thing are *****heads. This is the "M" "O" of farmers, they want really simple, unintreuptable and 100% safe gigs to farm a game. They use automated scripts and leverage time instead of high risk and pay. Who cares if the pay for missions 2 isnt the best they are doing it on many accounts 24/7. Keep your eye on those named prolly recycle the same names every 30 days when the free account expires.

I still don't know what they're up to, but I saw another three of them moving through my home system today:
Howard Love Karl Hawkins Elliott Barlow
I doubt they're scripting missions, though I'm hardly an expert there. All I know for sure is there's some singular purpose behind them, a person or group of persons who, for whatever reason, created 15 (and counting) cookie-cutter characters a week ago and has been doing a lot of mission grinding with them since then.
I don't know exactly what it is about the names, but I know I can skim through a long list of people in local and tell you with uncanny accuracy which ones were rolled up through the State War Academy 7 (now) days ago and which ones weren't.
They're not all traveling in one big group, but frequently I'll see one or two standing off and observing while another does the missions, and they seem to be traveling around in small groups now, doing who knows what.
Very weird. There's a certain weird "telepathic hive mind cult" vibe about the whole thing. Keep watching the skies...

There is at the moment 61 people in the system in question (Isaziwa) and 23 further docked. 11 people with human-like names out of 85, flying Caracals i.e. the only cheap Caldari cruiser suitable for missions, and doing missions in system overpopulated with agent *****s. And some of them don't bother to pick up the ****ty loot. (since i doubt the OP actually went and confirmed that every single can of every single of these 11 players don't ever pick up a single can)
You are right, the sky is falling.
"Some people don't pick up loot. Some use names like that. Lots fly caracal for low level missions. However the chance of finding 11 people not picking up loot + with similar, unusual names + flying caracal + in same system + at same time + not responding is negligible."
In the system with 80+ people filled to brim with agent runners? You'd be surprised.
Oh, and according to the OP only one of these people was contacted and didn't bother to be chatty to some stranger... but nice work extrapolating. Not sure if that leaves you much room to call what others say "delusions", though.
edit: incidentally, not sure why the possibility they don't pick up loot is argument this is some kind of macro thing going on. Since looting cans is just as scriptable as combat, if not easier... if they were picking up loot, would the tinfoil hat brigade be all "zomg, 11 people with names and in caracals and they all run missions _and_ pick up loot, bots!11!one"..?
