Since this is GD and we can always make use of a fun topic, I was kind of wondering about this.
Just last week I was positioning myself to uncloak in a force recon and attack a mining frig in lowsec. This was going to be a VERY one sided fight. I still noticed the adrenalin spike and noticed that my hand was shaking as I tried to use the mouse. I even felt the thump thump of my heart in my chest as I was about to commit myself to a fight that could end up in me loosing if this guy was bait. I even have this happen still attacking a hauler with a BS even if I KNOW he will be an easy kill and has no friends near by.
Not to be caustic, but I still get off on this lol. This is what keeps me playing other then the fact that I still have the ability of looking at "leet' milestones in a way a noob would because I love this game so much. Im an 09 player for reference. Just because I know there will be someone that realizes this alt is not old enough to properly fly a force recon lol.
This is why I do not care for blob warefare. You are one guy among hundreds knowing you will be reimbursed assuming your ship and fit meets the requirement. This is not a anti nullbear thread however, please do not make it one.
I love lowsec piracy. I fell victim of it when new so I know what someone thinks when it happens to them. I love how our actions actually effect people. This is what EVE is really about. Im kind of curious how many of you still feel this since most of the regulars are older players. (or newer ones complaining), either way it works out.
Maybe you can share your story of what still makes you feel like this, maybe we can refernce this to new players as to why we play this game for a short time. Either way I feel the whole "eve is real" feeling hence "the shakes" should act as an outlet to have some fun discussion if not only for a short time.
Share your thoughts.

Not anything that strong.
For me one of the big drawers of the game is the emotional response it sometimes causes, but a ship is just a tool and I don't ever have that sort of emotional response to either the potential loss, nor to the competitive aspect. I mostly just enjoy pvp, especially the competition. I respond emotionally, but not to that extent. eve-bazaar - I'm not associated with them, but support it as a worthwhile service |

ffs I made a typo in the title lol.. hopefully a mod fixes it.. or not.
But March... the fact that this still happens to you is actually a good thing. Dont hate that it happens. What are the odds of you finding another game that actually makes you feel afraid of your actions? |

Im not sure why.. but in any PVP at all, my heart still races and I actually feel alive after a fight. Ive never knwon another game that does that to me.

I have a corp mate who is exactly the same.
He's one of our best killers and commonly highest damage on almost all killmails on our fleet roams. Put him solo or with only 1 other ship and he sweats through every fight and his hands shake at the end.
It's an awesome aspect of the game. eve-bazaar - I'm not associated with them, but support it as a worthwhile service |

I still get them. Definite adrenaline rush. This is the only video game I've ever played that has had that effect. Which I guess is why I keep playing and play it as much as I can (outside of work and family time of course!) |

Same here. Adrenaline still flowing from PVP since 2003. THIS is what makes this game and why I'm still addicted |

2007 player here ...
Rating in carrier because bored.
6 intys jump in and within 20 seconds Im tackeled.
Swearing occurs, heavy drones in, light drones out, yell for help in alliance chats, poped 3/6 before cavalry arrived to save my ass ( I was lucky to pop 2 / 6 with cynos ).
It all lasted a few minutes at most. But my heart was pounding, palms sweating
On the other hand large TiDi battles are boring and only reason why I left 0.0 and now just PLEX-ing accounts while ISK lasts. It is expected of you to participate and I do agree with this policy. But there is no adrenaline there ...
Random encounters, hellz yeah.
When some punk kills my cyno alt 4 jumps from home system. Go to main, jump into T2/T3 ship and go out to execute vengance. Pop the guy only to get tackled by his mates. Call your own mates, hoping your survive while they come ... Yeah thats fun. Rare, oh so rare. But fun. |

The most shakes I ever got was from the first Sansha live events in 2010. Those were unpredictable and nobody knew what was coming out of those wormholes.
Prior to that I did occasional lowsec PVP and FW PVP but in those times, the PVP itself is both "busy" - too busy to be shaking - and also predictable: somebody is going to die. For the most part I'm too busy listening to the FC to be nervoius. I think my military training has something to do with this.
