Jumpgate is ancient... and to be honest completely outdated and crap by modern standards.
Hell, if Vendetta Online is still around, that was certainly better than jumpgate at least in terms of flight physics.

Hi Mazzarins, I agree with you. I think Gameplay is the most important factor for a game's playability. Games like tetris and packman don't have good graphics but are popular.
I am asking this question because I specialise in 3D graphics.

Thanks for all your replies. I like the graphics of Nexus and some others... but I still EvE is the best overall. Wow all these other games make EvE look even more impressive!

You can try www.vendetta-online.com, offers mmorpg where u control your own ship. Big pro compared to this game is that your to do what you want after a week of playing (most ships and such will be availble for you exept for the most elite ones) The big neg about is almost noone plays, 50 people if your lucky .
If your looking for a cool team space combar shooter, I suggest to visit www.freeallegiance.org, still has an active community and gameplay is VERY VERY intensive almost as good as battlefield2, COD2 and the likes.
Dont have a link for this one, but there is also freespace 2 a very complex online space game which still has a community supporting it.

I am a fan of nice 3D graphics and space games. I joined EvE 2 weeks ago and was hooked like addicted to *****.
So I want to know are there other games with cool space graphics? I saw X3 and I think it has mode detail but I fall in love with the ambience and atmosphere of EvE. The level of immersion that EvE creates is unbelievable.
Haegemonia is a space strategy game similar to Eves gfx except its 10 times more beautiful, best looking space game ever imo. But its not an mmorpg and once you played it for a couple of weeks it gets repetetive and boring.
Imagine an MMORPG with Haegemonias gfx and interface but otherwise like Eve. Now that would be the best MMORPG ever.
Also there are several Star Trek games that has beautiful gfx and alot more advanced combat system than Eve. But they too arent MMORPGS.
Star Trek Online is in the works but the rumour is that there will be no PvP so it will probably suck pretty bad. "I am the Homo Superior." Mike Tyson |

I tried X3 but that stupid anti-piracy thing keeps crashing my PC. Wrote to support and they said it was an issue with some PC's so I took it back to the store with the reply email and got a refund.
I'd like to see something along the lines of an Elite MMO with vastly more systems, newtonian physics and the ability to jump from place to place like Elite, IE: no gates to get camped so you have to find and then ambush anyone incoming using the scanner rather than just camping the only place they can go to get out of the system.
While the graphics are still good, Eve's game mechanics are starting to bore me TBH. Travelling anywhere is so boring because it's the same thing over and over and nearly 80% of this game is spent moving from one place to another so the boredom factor is starting to hit home.
The travel in Elite was more involved, plot your course, jump as far as you can and then refuel or jump again depending on cargo space/fuel reserves and distance. You could even run out of fuel in Elite and call out for a refueling ship at a hefty cost.
The only drawback was distances to stations from jump in points but that could be resolved fairly easily to make it possible in an MMO by using hyperdrive for ultra high speeds rather than using Elite's time offset or warping. Other players would be able to see you and fly to intercept and have dogfights at hyperspeed which they can't do in Eve ATM while you are warping.
Pirates would actually have to work for a living, corps alliances would have patrols around the system to defend it instead of just camping gates. More tactical battles would happen because each ship has different speeds in hyperdrive so a fleet battle would require initial intercept of patrols to clear the way for bigger ships to come in. Eve would actually seem a lot bigger without the need to make it bigger or as boring for travel if you could also dogfight in hyperspeed as well as sub light.
