I have tons of experience with moderation and negotiation and compromise and would be willing to work with both sides to come to a solution.
Serious offer.

I have yet to see any mercs on behalf of NFC, who are being bent over and spanked like a naughty little gallente schoolgirl.
Sometimes I even wonder if they're trying to fight us by filling our evemail inboxes with so many battleship killmails that we'll drown in them.
To be honest I can barely believe that NFC along with the rest of these walking, talking jokes you refer to as alliances are the remains of the old alliances people could respect. All I can do is laugh and look at how close my corp is to getting a 3 figure number of NFC battleship kills every week.
Last week was 61, I wonder how high the number will be this week.
See you in space NFC! --------------------------------------

So lets clear this up.. NFC wants political control.. And FLA just wants to build up industry? Just merge and have fla supply the industry, and NFC can fight all day. Sounds like a pretty fair deal.
I still say there's something in the roids in that region..

hi all,
Ive been in deklein from day 1 Fla moved to this space. as i see this whole thing started because we broke there biggy bag. we where selling stuff at honest prices in stead of the outrages pricing that was in dek. as one of the mass production corps in FLA we provided the market fast. i'm sorry i'm not selling **** like shuttles for 1 mil each compared to some of the current NFC members.
working things out? maybe...
but there should be alot of compensation that needs to come along with it. and a official Excuse from aus c and NFC on the general forums. compleet with the real intentions of there actions, explained to detaille. don't think it as a humiliation. At the end of the day you wold retain trust from ppl and respect can reexist.
NFC we are not giving up! not going away! our forced removal of the region isnt going to happen. if you want to make peace start by giving up 3JN to us. you guys have still 3 stations left and its a small loss.
by betraying FLA you pushed deklein in a unstable region where anybuddy can invade whenever they please. Think about it. You call it your home. you want it to be peacefull. and jet your the cause of that insability. all problems start with yourself. mama used to say "put your hand on your head and look who stand beneath it" what exactly sha was meaning i don't know, the escence is. don't accuse ppl of doing mistakes, if you make mistakes yourself
i close this post for now. need to do some outEve things I'll see you all in the battlefield
btw: we wil not give up! so prepair yourself for at least 6 month od battle

I think it has less to do with pride and more to do with greed.
If pride had anything to do with it, NFC would be totally embarassed by the fact that BURN EDEN and DOFA are destroying battleship after battleship with hardly any losses.
It's purely greed.
I just can't believe that nobody is man enough to want peace and concentrate on maybe frying a bigger threat. Wars of attrition are lovely, eh?

Edited by: Shin Ra on 14/05/2006 21:45:10 I guess at the end of the day fixing this kind of situation comes down to what the leaders want. I do not believe either side is interested in having a long, drawn out war. It will no doubt come down to who can hold out the longest before they realise that such wars can never be won.
At the moment, its simply a rush for bargaining chips. I don't forsee this changing for either side in the short term.
Both sides know what has to be done, yet neither is prepared to do it just yet. It will be interesting to see how this fact develops over the coming months.

Personally I believe the situation in Deklien would benefit from a political solution rather than a military solution. We have already proved that military might is unlikely to win the day as the current situation stands there have been victories and losses on both sides but nothing concrete enough to call the war won.
Both sides have fought hard, with dignity and valiance, people have borne their losses with pride and returned back to the fight with little complaint night after night.
FLA have been a tenacious and oft underestimated foe, the addition of Burn Eden to their forces has in my opinion give them an entirely new dimension in combat - love em or hate em Burn Eden are quite good at what they do, Whereas the NFC forces have suffered from some logistical problems getting everyone on the same page at the same time, but as a result of the defecits have had to fight twice as hard to make the gains we have made.
What frustrates me is there is actually little to be gained from this whole situation anymore, both sides are pouring isk and effort into the destruction of the other, when neither is strong enough to hold the reigon alone.
One of the questions that eludes answer is who's pride is it that is preventing any negotiation towards peace? I find a good portion of FLA to be quite sociable and reasonable folk, and I have found the same with most of the people in NFC, so how is it that everyone can be individually cool people and I throughly enjoy speaking/flying with yet when it comes to a collective descison making process we manage to get it so wrong.
I've put alot of time and effort into this war, and i've had a good deal of fun as well as some frustration, that said, I hope this gets sorted out sooner rather than later so we can look to rebuild and move forward.
As a disclaimer i'd like to state that i've deliberatly tried to avoid offending people but I am entitled to my opinion and if you think its wrong then feel free to argue it here or in private my office is always open.

Are you a high ranking member of NFC Top Quote? I for one would certainly like to know who now controls and commands NFC and their friends, as much trust has been lost between us with previous NFC leadership. FLA are always open and honest, this may be a flaw within FLA but it suits our industry base, and with it the openness to talk is always there. |

Excellent post TQ.
My personal views are that no side can claim to be the true successors to IRON. When FLA were a part of the NFC we hoped the NFC could become a stable uniting influence in Deklein. As the 8 pages of this thread indicate, things didn't exactly work out that way.
So what is the way forward many are asking. The most frustrating aspect to this war is the fact that we all have similar views and ideologies. We all want a stable, pirate free, well resourced free Deklein. When it comes down to it we don't want the war any more than most of you.
In my opinion the following is a sensible plan for peace in the region (of note this is a personal view and I don't speak for the FLA). 1. NFC and Sparta acknowledge the FLA's right to exist in Deklein. 2. FLA does the same for NFC and Sparta. 3. FLA gets control over the A21H-Z constellation. 4. Sparta get control over the D-AWFI constellation. 5. FLA and Sparta make a separate agreement on how to divide the resources of the RFY-QB constellation aiming at a peaceful coexistance. 6. NFC control the south of Deklein below the 8S28-3 system. 7. The main pipe from CZD to VFK should be open to all Deklein residents for the purpose of trade and travel. 8. A closed station policy should exist until tensions have been reduced pending a further station agreement at a later date. 9. Re-setting of positive standings between FLA, NFC and Sparta (and their respective associates).
The devil is always in the detail but it's a start.

As far as the NFC is concerned I would assume as a CEO I have some sort of council vote although i've been unable to attend the last meeting or two due to personal issues and work.
As far as I am aware the NFC is still governed as per our press release I certainly still view Avril Dewar as the president.
Do not assume from my post I try to set myself aside from the NFC I have fought long and hard in this war but I do not understand why this has to turn into the 100 years war....

The war does need to stop, its comming to a point where both sides are throwing money away that if another alliance came in, we would be screw'ed.
We have common hostiles, so why not fight them hostiles together like adults.
Does it really matter who has what in dek, as long as we live there TOGETHER why is there a problem.
This war has proven that BOTH sides are ready to fight for what they think is right, and them 2 mighty sides as ONE will be the new force of dek.
I will fight and die for NFC, but theres a time to fight and a time to talk.
Dek is weak, and other alliances can see it as a time to strike.

I would suggest a few alternatives -
1 FLA, NFC, Sparta aknowledge each other and agree a ceasefire and adopt positive standings
2 A simple policy of incidental damage is adopted and individal actions should be forgotten, bad blood takes a while to run clear but it will happen - otherwise there will never be any agreements as people will argue over the blame til the dawn of time.
3 All the stations should return to the NFC holding company which should be restructured as was originally intended as proof we wish to take forward our original ideals.
4 The POS's in the reigon should be logistically planned out to avoid 20 large POS's springing up randomly in key systems, certainly a policy of minimal force to retain in station holding systems until the tension lessens.
5 The stations should be reopened to release trapped assets and allow the reigon a road to recovery
6 Work should be done to free up all the major pipelines in the reigon for travel and resupply. -----------------------------------
I see a couple of major points that have to be addressed with the whole situation.
When it comes to brass tacks people need to stop looking for someone to blame - if this happens then people go on the defensive about decisions they had no control over and negotiations fail.
There needs to be some attempt to compromise from all parties concerned, this is the difficult one - its all well and good heading to a meeting with a stack of demands - so is everyone else and they can't all come out winners the key is finding an acceptable level.
People need to give the NFC leadership a chance to turn the situation around - they inherited this war, and I firmly believe given a chance to apply their ideas outside of a field of war, Avril and the council could bring the plans that were originally suggested for the reigon to fruition benefitting everyone in the reigon.
I do not believe a closed station policy would benefit anyone - primarily because you are constantly going to have people asking for access to get their assets out from pre-wartime positions - I for one have a large amount of collateral tied up in 3JN which I will NOT part with. Also a closed station policy shows minimal trust and provides more barriers to cross. I'm not suggesting you let the world dock but there should at least be a show of faith or grace peroid where everyone is freely allowed to relocate their corps to where they want.

Unfortunately I see our two proposals as being opposite ends of the spectrum. Unfortunately when Rome finally fell no-one could put it back together again.
As you so succinctly put,
Quote: We have already proved that military might is unlikely to win the day as the current situation stands there have been victories and losses on both sides but nothing concrete enough to call the war won.
thus just imposing the old system that failed and resulted in war would likely just end in the same result. We need to learn the lessons of our history as not to repeat them. Right now no force is capable of holding the entire Deklein region so what I am advocating is creating sub-regional autonomy. As it stands now IRON OLYMPUS is held by Aus Corp and IRON HQ is held by Nexus Legion (unless my mapbrowser is wrong) so even within the NFC it's own policy is not in effect.
Each Alliance should set it's own policy for the areas under their control with an overall regional agreement between all involved parties. Basically the only way this war can end politically is to let everyone keep the assets and areas they have gained and fought for. NFC is strong in the south so why does it also want ALL of the north too. We can co-exist.
Quote: I do not believe a closed station policy would benefit anyone
I tend to agree but first a ceasefire needs to be worked out before discussions about station access. The FLA also has huge resources locked up in Deklein stations but first things first.

While I can't speak as the official repsetantive of FLA, I can see a problem in giving nfc holding the stations, as there would be nothing that would stop FLA from being shut out of all stations again. You know the "fool me once.. " -saying? You are rigth in that it doesn't show much trust, but I don't think theres much trust to play with after what was done. Thinking constellation-wise gets my support, since that way it would be easier to manage for everyone.
Ceasing hostilities, and letting the feelings cool down a bit first is a good idea in my opinion. Oh and FLA pilots do know what it feels like, when your assets are being locked away from you. I'm pretty sure you can get to them later, once the "climate" gets better, you know ;)

AUS Corp has been a part of DEK for roughly 2 years. Don't hold your breath. AUS Corp was (yes was as in past tense) the figurehead for what transpired at the start but the war being waged on FLA at the moment has nothing to do with AUS Corp. AUS Corp was only representing what the other leaders of DEK wanted done as you can see by the fact that its the other leaders of DEK now leading and continuing the war to remove FLA.

Well Top Quote there is at least a partial answer. There is an element within the NFC whose only terms are the complete forcible removal of FLA from Deklein for reasons which have never been thoroughly explained. I very much doubt we can accept such extreme terms as it amounts to nothing less than an unconditional surrender.

Ofcourse neither side will be booted. The thing is people in NFC are tired of shooting at their friends in FLA and people in FLA are tired of shooting their friends in NFC.
The simple fact is whoever prevails will not be strong enough to hold the region. So calmer heads have to prevail and something needs to be worked out so that deklien is in the hand of one united alliance. I honestly don't know why this all started but its seems to me to be an ill informed path thats been chosen by both parties. Sparta, FLA and NFC only have one option for survival in Deklien and thats to unite under 1 flag and quit being a bunch of idiots.
