Well, why not?
Custom made or enhanced pods could be a great isk sink...+1 wcs strength...reinforced armor..extra speed..
Oh by the way I changed my mind about quiting, I just decided im going to grief you all ECONOMICALLY. Yeh you can shoot me all you like but in Jita I run the show and you will all PAY!

Doubt it will ever happen, but it's a fun idea to play with. I know someone who claims he'll never rest until he can mount a railgun to his pod.

Why not? In the Armed Forces you always have that last resort sidearm.

Pods should be stationary, and have to be scooped by a corp mate before the gravity of the nearest planet sucks them in to a fiery slow death.

No... PvP is getting harder these days. So hard to find targets. I prefer current T1 pods. Easier to chain PCs.

There are already t2 pods out. They're called frigates. They have reinforced armor, and they can shoot stuff too.

This reminds me of Front Mission 3... Your pilot could be ejected... and fight with a tiny pistol vs massive armored suit things.

Chuck Norris would not need a pod; he would just round house kick you for 200 damage, while holding his breath and keeping all his blood from boiling.
But, I do like the idea of having different grades of pods.

Preprogrammed pods, going off to wherever they're supposed to go once you get shot down should be the next stage. Getting wasted due to ship destruction lag is not cricket.

How about pods can be equipped with some sort of smartbomb? Like 20km range, 8000 damage and the blast destroys the pod in the process. So if you're being ganked, you can sacrifice yourself to blow up some pirates .

So two of those pretty much equals a titan superweapon? I think not.... anless u plan to make each one cost 1 trillion isk and take a year of skill req.

I rather like the idea of 'upgraded pods'.
Maybe not combat power, but things like more shields, more resists, more armour, warp stability, more speed and enough cargo hold to pick up BMs would be really cool.
After all, if your clone costs 4mil, and you have 20mil of implants fittted, some 'protection of investment' just makes sense. And of course you have to buy it all again if you _do_ get podded.
