Dr Awsome	Posted - 2006.04.27 00:59:00 - [1] Domi gets a bonus to Drones, Not heavy drones, just drones, not just thermal drones, just drones.......so thats 4x different types of scout drones 4x medium drones 4x heavy drones 4x sentry drones ---------------- 16 different types of damage mods before you argue about the raven, it gets 4x cruise 4x torp ----------------- 8 different types of damage.... Does any other BS get a damage bonus to all of it's size's of weapons? Any opinions?

Zyrla Bladestorm	Posted - 2006.04.27 01:03:00 - [4] Drones deal a lot less damage than most racks of large weapons ? it also only gets damage bonus to large hybrids, not medium and small (and even the domi fitting a rack of 350mm rails will probably double its own drone's damage) As to damage types, I believe the dev's statement was "If the domi won't use the other types, who will ?" . ----- Apologies for any rambling that may have just occurred.

The rest of your post is bucking follox tbh. Several ships do multiple damage types whats your point? As for the 16 dmg mods. Eh? It is so boring to read whines about how the ship is flown by everybody (as per last poster). If you don't want to follow the crowd of "drones" then guess what? DON'T! You have a choice. Make it. Enjoy the game!

A dominix gets these bonuses: 3 types of railguns, 3 types of blasters, 8 types of tech 1 ammo for each hybrid gun + 4 tech 2 ammo types. And those drones you mentioned... so I guess 52+16 = 68 damage modifiers! A Raven gets: Cruise + Torps * 4 types of tech 1 ammo each, and 8 types of tech 2 ammo for each launcher type! Dr Awsome	Posted - 2006.04.27 04:00:00 - [14] The main gripe is a domi can fit 5x heavy 5x sentry 5x scout and 5x med drones, so its suitable at kill inty, frig, assault, cruiser, hac, recon, and bs with the same nos, ew, tank setup. Its what ccp promised not to create, a solo pwnable ship. It is what the raven was pre cold war and look what happened to that, a raven wont fit standard or heavy launchers to fight frigs and cruisers because it doesnt get a bonus to ALL missile damages. So why can the domi fit every size drone and just send out whatever it needs to in the situation. That doesnt seem the least bit off compared to other ships?

The old bonus was +1 drone controlled per level, not +1 large thermal drone per level, this was only changed because apparantly it caused too much lag with more then 5 drones per ship in space. The new bonus made the domi pretty much unchanged from the drone changes if you dont consider its effectiveness with the new drones (which werent in there before the drone change anyway so thats a useless comparison after all).

Most battleships get a bonus to large weapons of some kind. Why does the Domi get a bonus to its small, medium, and large weapons? The same goes for other drone carriers. Realistically, drone ships will never be balanced by the disadvantages that other ships face unless the drone bonuses are changed to be size-specific.
