other characters will load though, just not the one that crashed.

Ohh, seems Im not the only one.
This happened to me as well about 20 minutes ago. I created an alt and could log in just fine but I cannot log in on my main, I just get a blank screen after loading.

same here got stuck on gate relogged this char but cant get past logging in screen now, can still log on my other account though, strange, maybe jump gates are bugged

i as well am now stuck at the log in screen.
same thing..was jumping...disappeared and nothing ever happend..after 5 minutes i exited the game regularly and now i cant log in my character.

I am also stuck. It happened when I jumped from Isanamo to Uemisaisen. I waited about 5 minutes at the gate after my ship jumped, then tried to relog. The character select screen says I am in Uemisaisen, but I am stuck at "Entering game as".
edit: corrected or maybe just improved spelling of the system.

Same issue here. I let it sit at the "Entering game as" screen and it let me in the game, but it was almost like I was out of sync with everything else, and couldn't do anything (ie. warping, docking, selecting skills, checking evemails, even ejecting from the shuttle).
I logged out and now I'm back at the entering game screen.

Just found the larger topic.
Been having same problem too, last few days terrible lag before then.
I hope someones aware becuase in my petition I was told that it could be a problem with my service provider. But why would I have this problem with eve and not with any other website, game, etc, and get completely different ping results for eve than anything else.
I wouldn't doubt it was my ISP if my whole internet was dodgy but its running just as well as ever.

I have the same problem, petitioned it and got a reply like 2 mins later which is nice :D
They said that they are having probelms with the server which is stopping them from moving characters, they have found the problem and will hopefully fix it soon!

This is just not good enough. 20 minutes to log in,10 minutes to undock, modules that don't work on your ship but the A.I. of npc unaffected. Every national Holiday its the same rubbish, max people online trying to get their monies worth and the game is screwed up. Either get your act together or lose players its your choice.

Same here, happened today, I just autopiloted through 16 jumps, than BIG lag (whole server) occured, than... my Prtavec character cannot enter game (black screen with 'entering game' dialog). my alt plays fine.
but.. I want to play with Prtavec.

Both my alt and primary are locked out, had the 'Logging in as...' screen for a good hour, so far. Hopefully CCP haven't decided to take a bank holiday and are currently working on the situation.
...that said, my next payment is due on the 8th of this month, so if it is a long term issue, a cancellation is in order - I can resume my subscription when the problem is fixed.
Worth noting that if you make a new character, they work fine - I'm currently running around in a brand new Gallente seeing if anyone else is having major problems, lag certainly isn't an issue.

The "work day" is quite international, we have it in norway and I suppose Iceland aswell

Worked a bit better.. still took 20 seconds to dock/undock, but I at least was able to get out of Sinq Laison.
However, I was 14 minutes too late to get a mission bonus, and lost 60 minutes of training.

Well, the reboot worked... for about half an hour. Lagged out at a gate, got booted, locked out. GG. On the plus side, I did get to put some longish skills on, so I'll just try again in a day or so.

Just incase people haven't seen the talktalk thread, if your on talktalk you'll get the logging on screen and won't connect except between 1am and 6am. ie you'll get the same problems and difficulties but the reason for that is that talktalk has removed the port online games use.
There could be another problem as well, but for talktalk people it isn't eve that's broken but talktalk being seriously annoying.
Basically talktalk have done a new free broadband connection and have too many customers so they've lmiited everyones internet access.
I hope the problem will be resolved but if talktalk don't, I personally hope that CCP perhaps with other online gaming industrys sue, becuase for every talktalk user CCP looses ú13 a month, for the online gaming industry as a whole we're talking millions.

after reaboot server it works about 30 min..then i stuck middel on mining belt and try to opne garco packs....nothing happened....soon come more ncp pirates and start to shoot me...after they shoot about 2 min ja hit hit hit my ckick cotrollet..and target locket my 8 guns sing a killing song they gone to dust. Again try to opne new gargos..nothing happen. so lefth 8 cargos behind full of stuff and spessed autopilot on...now about few hours lated i manage to make one jump and atleast anumore near miningbelts..because if lost connection there...soon ded.

It takes about 30 minutes to login then when I finally get the char loaded (15 mins) I can't change skill... my BS lvl 5 skill says "Completion Eminent" and won't change and I can't change to anoter skill... my eve mail and chat works only 1 way... I can see other people type crap but no one can see what I write... It's like I have a read only accout?

What is worse, my training finished while stuck and there goes again time without training which is the ABSOLUTE worst thing that can happen to you in EVE.
I didn't petition for time lost training during the last update, where I lost almost 3 days of training but this time I will.
Why should I lose training time when without any warning EVE crashes on us?

my brother has the same problem. He has a monthly subscription. With my character everything works great (3 month subscription). But what is strange, I see my brother as ONLINE in EVE. Maybe that's why you can't connect due the server thinks you are already connected.

It would be an idea if one of the department who is responsible for correcting this problem came on to tell us what is going on. In the end CCP is a business hench it takes my money and i expect a service for the money i pay. I dont expect just not to be able to use the service with no exlanation of when it will be fixed. I suggest that if this problem persists CCp think about conpensation or for however many days/hours i cant use the game is what i get free at the end of the billing month

I got a response to a petition, telling me to rename my Eve cache file to cache2. I did this, and I wouldn't recommend it. It doesn't work, and it resets all of your settings in-game. No response yet to telling them it doesn't work. (I'm petitioning with an alt that DOES work)

Oh, probably worth explaining this isn't just 'Domain' or one area inside EVE, this is galaxy-wide. I've started a few different characters to see if it truly apparent in some of the areas mentioned by you folks and no matter where I put them, after 40mins or so of gameplay, it just lags out and locks the character.
I'm guessing by the lack of a newspost or even comments by the CCP staff that they are, infact on holiday, so we may just have to lay back and accept that some of us won't be able to play until tomorrow, or until they get around to fixing it.
I wonder how they plan to compensate those who have lost items and ships due to this - I realise the EULA states that they won't give discounts or suchforth due to unexpected downtime, but the least they can do is make up for it with some sort of ingame re-imbursment, perhaps a short term training time booster for those affected in order to make up for the time they were unable to change their skills?
Does anybody have any suggestions, bar offering free moths and other insane demands?

I've recently met with eve. I decided to pay the initial 20€ fee to be able to play the game, and now I can't log in anymore :(
They rebooted the server, all was fine. 30 mins later I'm stuck again.
The petitions take over 1 hour to get a response 'high priority' it says ... right.
Also fun is to get a reply 'try deleting those files'.
I've let my friend connect under his account, and he gets the same problems, so it's not the client, it's the server. But hey, don't take my word for it.
I hate 'support' that thinks I'm an idiot and problems reside on the client side. I also hate it when no feedback whatsoever is given. Even a simple post with 'we are unsure what is going in, but following symptoms might indicate to this problem. Please do the following actions to correct it.' I see on the boards that I'm not alone at all, so please take it serious.
These are exactly the reasons why I've stopped playing world of warcraft, and if eve suffers from the same, then I can assure you this is the one and only month you'll be having me as a subscriber.
A very unhappy customer.

This, is garbage.
Stuck in Paara and I haven't been able to properly logon and play for several hours. Even if I get in I can't do a great deal due to massive doses of lag.
I'm going to knock it on the head for tonight, they won't clear things up until tomorrow's downtime since the problem is only affecting a relatively small number of customers.

Oh good, im not the only one that can not log into main character.... and now i just lost my alt in the same area. And yes my skill training just happend to finish after i lost control of the character.

Been playing most of the day through the 2 reboots out in 0.0 and had no problems at all... exept for the hurrying to finish the mission I was on to beat the "Server Shutting Down in 20 Min"
