Solstice Project wrote: Why is this thread missing the blue dev-tag, altough a dev posted in it ?
It was a complaint on the old forum.
Someone would start a thread named like CCP Please Fix Hybrids and someone would make an off topic post or it would get moved and it is like 20 Pages long and growing. So people browsing the forums would be sifting through the thread just to come across an Off Topic post Removed then have to finish sifting to see if there was a real Dev Post after that.
This way if a Dev actually has something to say you can identify it and look it up using the Dev Finder tool.

Quote: From http://www.eveonline.com/devblog.asp?a=blog&nbid=3029The four racial fuel blocks will be built in batches of four in all stations, plus starbase ammo assembly arrays (blueprints coming to a Thukker Mix station near you; build time approximately ten minutes). Each batch of four will need the following components: GÇó 8x Coolant GÇó 4x Enriched Uranium GÇó 400x relevant racial Isotope GÇó 4x Mechanical Parts GÇó 20x Oxygen GÇó 1x Robotics GÇó 150x Heavy Water GÇó 150x Liquid Ozone Towers will use 1 block/hour for small, 2 blocks/hour for medium and 4 blocks/hour for large. The CPU and Power load will no longer have any impact on your fuel needs - all towers now need the same amount of fuel, regardless of configuration. Blocks will be 50m3 each. To make fuel bay sizes line up more nicely, we've boosted the bays on normal towers to 35/70/140k, so you get a nice round 700 cycles in each, which works out at a hair over 29 days. (Does not affect strontium bays!) The one downside of this big-blocks approach is that it's impossible to give faction towers a fuel consumption bonus any more (you can't consume 2/3 of a block). We talked to some large-scale starbase operators about this, and they told us that the main bonus of faction towers for them is actually that they last longer between fuel cycles. To try and compensate for the increased running costs, we've taken the above bay size increases and added +25% bay size on top of that for the "tier 1" faction towers, and +50% bay size for the "tier 2" ones. We're hoping people will find that a satisfactory tradeoff, but we're listening for further feedback on this change.
I don't mind the CPU/powergrid tradeoff for the simplification but the complete loss of the bonus for the faction towers is just wrong.
This is NOT a satisfactory trade off ----
With the current proposal each current block is 50m3 and are made in batches of 4
thats 200 m3 to work with
one possibility is to change it to producing 40 blocks at 5m3 apiece then having small towers need 10 tier 1 factions need 9 tier 2 factions need 8
so u CAN consume a fraction of a block.
My specific numbers are a rough guess and there is prob a division that is more equivalent to current for running towers but the division is EASILY possible.
Normal towers would still use the same amount of fuel at the same cost and ocupying the same ammount of space --- BUT this would let people that paid insane amounts of isk for thier faction towers to benefit from that investment.
If this is not remedied then faction towers are just going to be collector items. |

(Though they wouldn't just be collector's items; remember that they would have more fitting, more shields, and a faster deployment time.) |

CCP Ytterbium wrote:Here is the latest update on these ships: NAGA
- Missile role removed, now focuses as a hybrid platform
- 10% Torpedo velocity per level swapped for 5% to Large Hybrid Turret damage per level
As pointed out, even with the velocity bonus, torpedoes have a too short of a range to be useful in practical situation with the Naga since it has the lowest mobility of all tier 3 battlecruisers and quite poor defensive options. Aligning this ship into a missile platform would have required a long range option as well, meaning the use of cruise missiles, which created a certain number of issues. Specializing for a hybrid long range platform made more sense with the Naga role, which is why the damage bonus was appealing, especially when combined with CCP Tallest changes; it also makes more sense regarding Caldari tier philosophy, where highest tech 1 tiers usually are hybrid platforms (Merlin, Moa, Rokh). TALOS
- 25m3 dronebay and bandwidth added
Even if quite in opposition with the tier 3 battlecruiser role design, it adds an edge this ship needs over the other variants, especially since the Naga now it does the same damage with Hybrids. So, while we are looking at the blaster situation, we agreed giving the Talos a bit more survability against smaller threats was a good compromise for the time being. TORNADO
- Large Projectile Turret Falloff reduced from 10 to 5% per level
The reason for this reduction was mainly due to the range falloff reaches on autocannons when combined with the proper rigs, Barrage and Tracking Enchancers, dwarfing blasters in the close range department; we will see how the situation evolves and possibly make further changes to compensate. Also, please note some small powergrid/CPU changes may happen to the tier 3 battlecruisers in the next build. Thanks for your time.
Also new Sisi patch today expect another round and storm of OMG updates.

Great job with all the infos Nova; I'm looking forward to most of these changes.
The removal of Torpedoes from the Naga is not one of those changes. I wish they'd just made the missiles reach their max range earlier (my post about it). There is, and should be, a bit of an outcry about this change. I'd SO rather have torpedoes than a redundant blaster platform.
And the Jita monument thing made me laugh out loud. That's hilarious, well played CCP. |

That's only one aspect. What eve doesn't need is more one trick ponies. More importantly, if Caldari are going to stick to the railgun and missile philosophy, what they really need is more (good) rail boats. They already have superb missile platforms in every ship size, but their railgun offerings are lackluster at best and embarrassing at worst. The Naga might finally be the first truly worthwhile hybrid (and specifically, railgun) ship in the Caldari lineup, outsting the Rokh and everything else that ever almost worked but didn't. It's an exciting step in the right direction IMO. It just needs to be taken a tiny bit further so that people actually genuinely prefer it over other ships for certain situations and roles that actually exist in the current meta.
Unfortunately it really suffers from a case of being all dressed up with no place to go. |

In a nutshell all current will be concord (high sec) and insterbuss (everyone else) interbus has higher tax but is destroyable and replacable with your own. You can set access (ie those with bad or neutral you could charge 100% tax to troll.) or deny access based on standings. And transfer the office to somone should you feel like abandoning. Also warning pop ups and upon death generates a kill mail.
Iam you seem to be falling behind on updates :P

High damage missiles (Fury for guided and Rage for unguided) currently increase signature radius. Long range unguided missiles (Javelin) and small-target guided missiles (Precision) currently reduce top speed. These penalties are going away: Loading Javelin heavy assault missiles in order to deal with a foe that is outrunning you will no longer paradoxically hinder your ability to keep up with them. |

I believe there are some small amounts of adjustments going on with drop tables in various areas, but very few specifics. I suggest trying a search for dev post about rogue drones, but I have not seen or read anything about this.
The way anomalies are being boosted is explained in great detail in the dev blog that is linked for that item.
These changes are ones that are going to be released immediately upon the release of Crucible, with one exception. Pos fuel will probably be switched over to fuel blocks sometime 4-6 weeks after the expansion; the blueprints will be released immediately, but it's going to take people quite a while to actually manufacture enough to replace the fuel and get the new fuel in place in their towers. |

CCP has already backpedaled on that - but it's too late to put the lock window function back into the code for the 28th. So it will supposedly be fixed in a "point release".

No, not really. Ostensibly the major problem with the torpedo Naga was that it was too sluggish to get in range properly (that is, to get within 30km of its target... and that's it). This is the worst justification ever as it is going to be fifty times worse trying to do the same thing with blasters; presumably they are supposed to be good with railguns, but they will be little used since they do much worse damage than the Oracle until somewhere past 120km. |

And text chat was being very strange - not sure if that's a new bug for today's build. Pretty sure market seeding isn't ever a development goal for the test server. Obviously if it's still a thing on the live server report it. |

one about lower case L and upper case i looking exactly the same, and one about Nugoehuvi Synth being exactly the same as regular synth after the boost (which now doesn't matter as the drug changes have been abandoned). When I looked the Nugoehuvi Synth had longer duration than regular synth. But ya, not like it matters now. Mr. Science & Trade Institute, EVE Online Lorebook-á |

Yes, the devs have stated that specifically within the last few hours in the starbase fuel thread. So we can simply cross our fingers and hope they get it right on release day. |

This is a pretty important one and one of the only items that is actually being seeded on the market with the new expansion; I remember when medium and small rigs came out, there were a number of energy weapon rigs that simply weren't available for about 5 or 6 days and I had to bug report that; but there were over 150 different new items being seeded that time. |

Initial patch notes are available!
Argh, they are resetting all our windows. That is a bit vexing. SCREEN-SHOT YOUR UI. You might need those pictures to reconstruct it.
It appears that they perhaps only added the T2 version of the Core probe launcher, and not the Expanded; this may be to keep up the LP value for Sisters of EVE missioners, as the Sisters Expanded Probe Launcher is one of their staple moneymakers.
Then again, they included Drone Tracking Computer II in the list, rather than Drone Navigation Computer II, so who knows. Expanded Probe Launcher II is available on the Sisi market and appears under Invention on the T1 blueprint...
Interbus customs offices can be shot down without going GCC or losing standings!
The patch notes correctly state that Hail has had its falloff penalty completely removed. Hail once again has the same range as EMP on the test server.
Metal Scraps are now 0.01 m3! For some reason, Reinforced Metal Scraps are still 5 m3. (Bug reported, possibly intentional)
Bookmarks are now referred to as Locations. We're all still going to call them Bookmarks.
Captain's Quarters actually look different now depending on the security of space you're in.
As was mentioned somewhere else I read, I think Jester's Trek, cloaked ships no longer decloak other cloaked ships.
"CONCORD no longer considers you a criminal when someone you attacked over 15min ago is killed by someone else."
"A production line error for the popular booster GÇÿQuafe ZeroGÇÖ was causing a minor shield booster penalty. This negative effect no longer occurs."
"The turret locators on the Prowler are now attached to the hull of the ship and not floating in midair." (I bug-reported this)
"The Contacts list correctly updates with offline status when a client is forced to disconnect such as happens when a second client logs in with the same account." Let's hope this fixes the problems with the contacts list not ever being reliable, ever.
"Fixed an issue where ships with certain names could not be scanned down." I wish I'd known about this...
The API no longer shows jumps in W-space. Bummer.
All instances of the word "Defence" have been changed to "Defense" because that's pretty much how it's supposed to be spelled nowadays.
Stations will have proper names instead of "Gallente station 7" or "Minmatar 1"
And that's it for now |

I read that a few times and I think one of the "drone tracking" lines in the patch note applies to the capital version. Or it's a typo on the patch notes.

There is no capital version.

Also looking forward to shield leadership bonuses being applied instantly (by percent instead of by maximum, making it work more like armor does). |

But I'm too busy being tired and playing with the new EFT. Boy oh boy. Who could have predicted that THAT ship would end up being a budget Deimos in disguise? |
