Another choice would be a brick tanked Navy BS. You could easily be scanned, but it would take a crew of Tornado pilots to bring you down.
Covert Ops ships also work. Cloak and warp from every gate. It's hard to even see which way you warped. The best idea (in my opinion) is to be "just another mission runner" that isnt worth the gank. If I remember right, you cant scan a can, so put your BPOs in there, fit for a mission and slow-boat it. If it were me, I'd fit a T1 BS or BC, go heavy on the tank and "noobish" on the weapons. Dont mind me, just another mission runner with nothing for you! Also, dont do it with this character, just in case :) Putting BPOs in a can sounds like a good idea until you realize that having a can in your hold just creates curiosity on the part of would-be gankers.
No, most missionrunners use small cans for extra ammunition, cap booster charges, gate keys etc. I can gurante you, no one will ever bother giving a second thougt to this fitting, even if you have a can in there. Hell, I think most gankers wont even bother with scaning a dominix.

Is that what he needs to realize? And here I thought he needed to realize that anyone can see the contents of containers inside a ship's hold with a cargo scanner.
Sometimes I forget just how bad the advice on forums can be.
Use a cov ops ship: Frigate or nano'd transport. Or use a cov ops T3, and no, it doesn't have to be nullified as that only works against bubbles in null. If you get locked in a cov ops in high sec you were being lazy with your cloak or warp. Don't give anyone any intel about your move. Don't get lazy or stupid and you'll be fine. Anyone who tells you different or spews nonsense about unspecified hazards is speaking above their knowledge level.

Yes, still can, no not changed. (Orca hanger was made scanable recently, BR cargo hold was made unscanable recently)
What can't be scanned through is double-wrap. Courier contract in courier contract, courier contract in container (I think) or container in courier contract (I think)
But that definitely attracts gankers' attention as that's something that you pretty much have to deliberately do. |

You would warp before anyone could lock you and following you in anything else but an interceptor would be pointless. I dont have any experience in this area so any help would be appreciated. I am assuming tanked ships like a BS would be too slow and if someone scanned your cargo they could follow you and get some friends together to gank you.
If the BPOs are visibly worth 1.0 billion ISK or less, just haul them while AFK in a Freighter. I've done so several times; never had any problems.
If they're worth more than that, then yes you should indeed haul them ass-on-chair in an Interceptor. I've done so several times, increasingly just hauling all my crap at once instead of splitting up the BPOs and taking multiple trips; never had any problems. |

Thomas Builder wrote:If the blueprint isn't too valuable, a Gnosis works surprisingly well too. You can get almost 200k EHP against Antimatter out of it and still have a decent align time.
But if the BPO is worth more than a billion, people might gank you anyway, so something stealthy will be better.
You can also double-wrap the BPO to be unscannable. (Ask a freighter pilot for how to do that). Although a double-wrapped package in a shuttle will definitely be suspicious, so maybe double-wrap it, use a freighter and pretend to be just a run-of-the-mill Red Frog alt doing a regular freight run, not worth to be ganked.
I don't know how double-wrapping works, but if scanners can see the volume of the wrapped package, then be sure to include some random crap along with the BPOs, such as a few dozen units of trit, or maybe add enough to get the volume to 5 or 10 m3, because if volume is 0.01 or 0.02 m3 then it'll look dangerously like 1 or 2 high-value BPOs. |

Why is this thread 2 pages long? Use a Blockade Runner and cloak at every gate, fit it with Istabs and shield extenders (and those are more of a "might as well" kind of thing). Yes, you might be uncloaked sometimes, oh the humanity, but because it almost never happens it's not an issue. |

The leopard hands down. Due to the way the server ticks work it is literally unlockable unless you're sitting on a gate and/or slowboating around (or are undocking, long story short be sure to use undock bookmarks when transporting high collateral). If you don't have access to a leopard then an interceptor with >1.9 second align time. If not an inty then something cloaky. If you don't have access to any of these then your options are to pick a decently tanked non-blink pvp ship to mask your intentions, or fit a ship that has enough tank to require more ships (ISK wise) to gank then would be gained selling your BPO, just beware that despite what others may say putting them in a can wont help being scanned. I've run them around in n00b ships before, but I prefer CovOps. If it's a fairly valuable BPO, a CovOps and right before downtime.
Before I had a POS, I'd run BPOs into low because the stations had shorter lines for research. I'd check dotlan first, send an alt ahead to scout, and then hop through in a CovOps if things looked pretty clear. |

Highly recommend Passive Brick Tank Domi with MJD in HS. Most would-be gankers use long point or High Alpha to get ganks. Passive Brick Tank Domi is nearly 180k EHP Omni, if long pointed, just align MJD and then warp :P Most don't try to get you on the next gate, because they just got CONCORDed on the first one :P
Usual rules, don't transport Highly Valuable goods when at War. Don't transport what you can't afford to loose. Always create Off Grid instant undock Bookmarks when you can.
As already mentioned in the thread, the additional random loot in cargo is good for putting off the random cargo scanner, they might not notice the couple of cans. |

ok.. topic is Best Ship for Transporting BPO thru High sec
Having 15m skill points only, I have done this in a frig or cruiser (even before learning the insta warp trick) without even being as much as scanned.
I understand the need for hide'n'run in lower sec and null, but if through high sec and with 20m minus skill points, not many options there.
Mission runner frigates I have used are Executioner or Punisher
Mission runner cruiser: Omen

having run cargo through all regions of space, i have yet to lose a blockade runner. in hisec, potential gankers would have to be really REALLY bored to try their luck on you and even then it's relatively easy to get to 13k+ EHP, which means they will have to sac two tornadoes instead of one. not to mention 4-5 second align times and the covops cloak.

Navy Augoror or brick tanked t3 would be my choice. Virtually impossible to suicide gank with anything reasonable.
Navy Aug can pull 175k ehp with nearly 50k raw armor. If you are transporting something especially valuable (t2 BPO?) covert ops brick tanked proteus with slaves pulls over 500k ehp.
I would seriously avoid transporting anything of significant value in a frigate or even blockade runner. |
