Yesterday I was so bored... So I fitted my merlin with 2 nanofibers and a microwarpdrive and some cap rechagers and warped to the nearest planet.
The distance wasn't that bad, 5500 km away from it. I calculated that it would take me 50 minutes to fly that distance with a speed of nearly 1.8km/sec.
I got to a distance of 3500 km away from the planet and it autowarped me back to the distance I came from . I wanna fly to the planet!!!

3500km from the *centre* of the planet, is probably the point at which your ship's collision detection system realised you were about to crash into the *surface* and took evasive action.
That's my theory anyway. ________________________________________________

hmm thats weird cus i've been at stations where the planet is only about 400km away, and i've flown right through it... tis just like a paper disk and I never got autowarped away.

you probably "warped" through it.... flying through it should trigger your colision detection long before... ----

This happens. For example I did the same thing with my executioner but it was with a moon and only like 300 km. I actually got about halfway inside the moon's crust before It shot me out.
Apparently some people do this with stars for fun, as I'm guessing it gets you to very high non-warp speeds.

Ah I am glad someone else has seen em.
They are not forgotten, some of them belong to friends of mine who still play.

I've never known a station be that close to a planet. A moon, yes but not a planet. The station in Agil is only about 300km from the moon . ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Signatures must be eve related - Laqum Huh? Since when? - ReaperOfSly |

I've MWD'd into the center of a planet and even passed it. Then it casually decided to bounce me back.

Well hey, that was pretty common back in the day. I also recall people putting Megabeams and Tachyons on them.

At one point in time (about 6 months ago give or take) I got bored and did the same thing with the moon next to the station in D7-ZAC. I was a bit more careful though, I made multipled bookmarks inside it until I reached the center (I was very careful to actually aproach the center). I found that I got superbumped when I got there...
A few minutes later and I got myself an instant safespotmaker bookmark which I have kept to this day. _________________________________________________________

I've flown straight through planets no problem. I got bounced out quite soon when I flew into a star though
