A market that works
A black market
A stock market
Player stations
Mobile refineries
Non "landmark" based navigation
No lag (within reason, I understand it's an online game)
No crippling bugs (CTD causing bugs)
Sec rating and faction standing to actually work as invisioned (this would eliminate a lot of the pirate vs griefers issues)
Basically everything that was promised to the people who bought the game.
I want to have fun...
Right now EVE is not fun, it's work, and it's a pizzing contest between PK'ers and eveyone else...
And yet instead of posting that you want those features you came on here and said:
Quote: This game has become very stale.
I blame the PK'ers (aka griefers) for ruining this game.
From the first day of the m0o blockade in mara/passari, I could see this coming.
NO! YOU CAN NOT HAVE MY STUFF! ***** OFF!
Like you've been crying about since the game went live. WTF do you expect CCP to work on with you going off about griefers all time? It's YOUR FAULT that CCP has been making the game safer and safer every patch instead of working on new content. You haven't been cryng about features, you've been crying about other people who are just playing the game the way it was meant to be played. Stop pointing fingers and look in the mirror. ----------------------------------------- Sig rented by Drethen Nerevitas. |

I'll try to avoid pizzing you guys off for about a nonth or two, and see what it's like when I get back.
I don't know why, but somehow I must be a magnet in-game for attracting the "bad" type of PVP'ers (griefers) as opposed to the honorable ones...

I'm not a PK but every post I've seen from you in a thread concerning piracy has made me weigh the price of giving up a corp of pretty good people for the chance to go hunt you down and pod you so often you'd start begging CCP for a way to equip mining lasers on your pod.
It'd be the only ship you'd get to keep.

Edited by: Demangel on 19/09/2003 13:37:16 OK white since you recantred a bit and are atleast listening to reason I'll stop flaming you now, out of kindness.
But just in case you need more prodding here is some reccomended reading.
From the FAQ:
1.11: what will gameplay be like?
When the player has mastered the basics of the game, amassed some money and equipment and advanced his/her character through basic skills, the possibilities become almost endless. Players who wish to explore peaceful paths can continue to upgrade their ships to bigger and better-defended cargo vessels, purchase advanced mining or research equipment, and continue to develop their character by specializing in their preferred skills. Others will choose to explore more dangerous path, such as piracy, smuggling or bounty hunting. There will even be ways of making money through such activities as spying on other players and reporting illegal activity.
from 1.12: How will the game being massively multiplayer effect game play:
Groups of players will be able to build and manage space stations, start up major mining operations on planets and asteroids, manufacture goods and equipment and, no less importantly, fight other groups of players for their bases and resources.
But wait there is more! An entire PAGE devoted to something in EVE you obviously hate: COMBAT!
link to Faq page about combat
Oh no no no, I'm still not done yet... Although much of the info here might be somewhat out of date, the basic premis is still the same: read this entire page about the legal system:
Page from the faq on law and order
and finaly, as it has some relevance:
7.3 Are wars possible between corporations?
Most definitely. One of the main purposes of corporations is to allow formal wars to be fought over resources, trade routes, strategic systems or simple pride. It will be possible to force one warring side to surrender to another, details of which will be released closer to the date of issue.
These kind of wars will be legal in the sense that players belonging to the two warring corporations can attack each other without impunity, without losses in security status.

This game should be increasing in number of subscribers, not decreasing.
So much for 24,000 simultanious players, that number will never happen, too bad the market & 5000 solar system setup was designed for that number...

You whiny bastards come cry on the forum as soon as you got shot at instead of being prepared and not getting in over your head. Go play SWG where you have to ask people nicely if they would care to join you in a bit of PvP and let us grown-ups play. Seriously... go away.

This 'baby' roid problem. Lots of carebears whining about it when they can solve it themselves. Try moving a few systems and mine the hige roids. But NO, lets whine to CCP in stead of doing that little extra effort. Why use industrials to move ore around when we can simply whine to CCP to reset the roid fields?
What a bunch of stupid words. If you don't know what is happening with asteroids, just shut up.

Whitedwarf, few people are leaving over getting killed. It doesn't happen all that often.
Anyone that thinks the exodus is led by people upset at getting shot by pirates is delusional.

Bah, whatever. I don't like PKing or PKers, but this is now as fixed as it needs to be. 0.5+ is basically safe, 0.1 -0.4 is risky but can't be gatecamped, 0.0 is a wilderness, varying between full of neat ore and NPCs with no player activity, and insanely violent systems requiring an actively suicidal player to attempt.
Me, I use the map. Find a dead end star system with no pilots in it and less than 5 jumps to it in 24 hours. You're safe for quite awhile, you just gotta find a safe way home :)
So please, let's drop the whole "PKers are destroying EVE" thing. This WAS true. This is NO LONGER true. End of story.

I agree. Some people are quitting the game because they lost their first cruiser/ battleship/indy/whatever. Most come crawling back a week later though. In general, anyone who is such a sucky baby that they won't play any game without a "save point" allowing them no risk isn't really going to get EVE anyways.
As for why most people are really quitting, I've seen some of the most active and powerful players in the game quit, and most players I run into on a daily basis have joined fairly recently. I think boredom and bugs lose us far more subscribers than PKers ATM. And frankly I've lost waaaaay more ships to the cap bug and/or NPC pirates than I've lost to PKers. Maybe we should take the guns away from NPCS too! Then we could all just shoot unarmed NPC indys to get our miner IIs? Or just all of us mine, and buy everything off the market. Like, um, even better mining lasers! YEAH, and maybe even better mining drones! And even bigger cargo expanders! How exciting!!!! Maybe that'd keep people from quitting (sarcasm metre registers 10).

Carebears are right in blaming the PK'ers for the lack of content. Go back all the way to m0o and the stacked modules incident (you know, when they were "invincible" and whole fleets were lost trying to take them out). m0o acknowledged it was a game flaw but used them anyway. Then we had Tank CEO killing newbies in 1.0 space with his -10.0 security rating. Gate camping and blowing up anything in site. I believe CCP intended pirates to be part of the game. Pirates like the Space Invaders crew early on not PK psycho killers who blow you up for no reason then to get their own jollies. If PK players (not pirates now) weren't in the game look back and ask yourself honestly would we have had these radical changes we've had? The answer is no of course not.
These PK players who are the real reason we've got no content should go play counterstrike to murder everyone in sight or they should look at honest piracy. PvP isn't lagging people at a jump in point with eight harvestor drones. Now CCP has to deal with that exploit as well. More time wasted dealing with a very small percentage of the Eve population that cotinually causes trouble and misery for the other 90% who want to play. People confuse PvP with PK. In defending PK your are NOT defending PvP. Your defending a playing style that brings NOTHING to the game. If these people were in real life we'd call them serial killers. I'm not saying get rid of PvP totally I dont think anyone is. But when youve been victimized by lame exploiting griefers for so long of course you combine PvP and PK in your mind and want to see it all eliminated.
So PK players, will you start to play as decent pirates, will you play honorably and not go out of your way to find game exploits or design flaws? If you do this CCP wont have to waste so much time dealing with you and can spend time getting content for us. If you dont want to do this Id really like someone to explain what they get out of slaugthering a helpless enemy (often when the enemy is still logging into space)? That isnt PvP at all.

Ok, let me explain why this argument is so weak, although I'll be repeating the same things everyone knows.
Carebears and Griefers are the same, they ***** about what hurts their profession, they say stop whining when something hurts the opposing side, they are not constructive, just like this post is just a string of insults to our intelligence which we bother replying to simply because of boredom.
So, keep complaining, keep complaining about the complaining or adapt, or then again, leave, I don't really care. But I still think its [eric cartman] "f*cking weak you guys..."
