I am doing a study on eve. The stats I got from CCP state 27. My own research gave 27.9. I think CCP are correct :)

Far more impressed by the maturity of those I play with in Eve over other games. SG, on the same coin, has a more aged population anyway.

That's what I like about mmorpgs. People of all ages, backgrounds and nationalities can have a good time together. We deal with each other in game terms rather than real world terms. Which is why I prefer to not use TS...it brings more real life prejudices into the game. ____________________________________________________________________

Well, most of the players in EvE were once Elite genre players...
I've gotten the game ot work on my pc (FE2).
I'd say 25-28 years
FE2 can't come close to the original Elite. Ian Bell FTW!
I'm 19, used to play Elite when I was little on my Atari ST. -----

33 years old here... Full time job, Wife, 2 kids, and one more on the way. The skill system alone seems made for older players like myself who have limited time. I love this game. Its become my relaxation haven! And Elite was my favorite game for years on my old Commodore64. I even remember the backstory book that went with it... The Dark Circle.

It's actually two questions being answered here.
First, the average age of the subscriber - the person behind the account - is around 28 based on the information submitted to us last time I checked.
Second, the average age of the subscriber in months of subscription is actually about 12.9 months. It's been steadily increasing with both the growing age of the game and the growing customer base.

On to more interesting questions... whats the average lifetime of the fish in the giant CCP fishtank?

That means the average player age has almost doubled (i heard 7 months a while ago). A very good sign for the game.
And average age of 28 is very good. I think the wow population average is 13...

45 here. I know people in their 50's that play the game. Course, met some 13 year olds too.
One of the fun things about Eve is meeting people all over the world.

thirty-teen.
being serious: I'm 21, and by the sound of my corp/alliance mates on ts,I seem to be one of the younger members. I'd guess the average age of an EVE player would be somewhere in the 25-40 range. -------------------------------------------------- Loyalty, Integrity, Honour. |

Had another character before and started playing when I was 13, can't say age ever stopped me from doing what I wanted

Ok rugrats and curtain-climbers... 54 here.
Been playing MMO's for about 6 years. Came to EVE as a WOW refugee. A significant reason for leaving WOW (other than game mechanics and 'yucky' end game/PvP) was the immature community
