Ok, many people like to turn off the game sound (for performance reasons) and listen to music while playing EVE, so what do you guys like to listen while playing EVE?

Ironically, I've found the best EvE background music is the soundtrack to Auto Assault.
If I'm not listening to that I just listen to my usual entourage of sound: Sisters of Mercy, Abney Park, Switchblade Symphony, etc -----

I was sort of thinking this the other day. If you consider eve to be a movie what would be good music for the soundtrack rather than just songs you like today? something to get you in the right mood.
Unfortunately I didnt have any good ideas as i'm a bit thick

I listen to a lot of different types of music when playing EvE. Sometimes, it's a mix of different soundtracks from a whole bunch of movies: Hunt for Red October, the navy seals there from The Rock, Conan the Barbarian (well, Basil Poledouris in general...), some Star Wars tracks (new and old episodes, especially the Metallica Imperial March. You can't get a better track to fly a Cyclone), The Patriot, A Beautiful Mind, Last of the Mohicans and many others.
I also listen to a few classical tracks. Holst's Planets (Mars is an obvious one but Saturn and pluto aren't bad either), Vivaldi's Summer (Allegro and Presto and especially the rendition played by Vanessa Mae), Night on Bald Mountain, Bethoven's fifth and f ew others that I can't remember.
When I need a boost or if I go hunt with some corpmates, I also listen to some Goa. Infected Mushroom, Shpongle, Hallucinogen, Skazi, Talamasca, X-Dream. I'll also tune in to di.fm every now and then.
There also a number of tracks from various groups but Metallica is almost alwyas on the top of my list. Disposable Heroes 4tw. BACK TO THE FRONT!

Occasionally I get all nostalgic and turn the music back on.
That usually lasts an hour or so, then it gets turned off again, and I listen to quite a variety of stuff
Sometimes put eve-radio on, but it depends a lot on who's the current DJ and what kind of stuff they are playing

Slipknot makes blowing up so much more bearable. But pretty much anything hard with a bit of a melody or more will keep me from getting tired while playing..that's what I look for in music while playing.

Although i play alot of Indie/Grunge/90's rock, i found the best music to run in the EvE background is the soundtrack to Fight Club by Dust Brothers. All instrumental and loops very nicely so can play it all for hours and is subltle/ambient like some of the jukebox music.

Edited by: Wizerud on 03/05/2006 23:50:12 I actually kinda like the default music that plays in EvE. Few questions about it, if anyone knows:
1. Have the tracks that play always been in-game or do they keep adding new ones?
2. Is there any chance that the playlist can be expanded further?
Edit: When I say expanded further, I mean are CCP going to keep on adding tracks to the playlist? It would be great if the playlist lasted about 12 hours before repeating!

The deadspace music is kinda new. There have been no new pieces for the everyday pilot unless you switch off the resource hungry sound engine and fire up winamp. The installation CD had a couple of industrial/tribal tracks too for the Minmatar moments. They're not touched by the jukebox for some weird reason.
All the music is done by RealX, one of the Devs. There have been a few promises that there'll be much more, but nothing happened since. --*=*=*-- Megadon CCP wanted a well known artist and celebrity to test the new font so it's approval would be well known. They got Ray |

Stupid bug where the sound comes through on vent instead of voice keeps it from being 100% of the time :P

I listen to the album Vision Creation Newsun by Boredoms. It's got a lot of drum circle style rythms and electronic-trippy sounds to it. It strikes me as what the Minmatar would listen to while traveling.
