Ive been looking around at interceptors and it seems theres a general conscensus that caldari ships arent overly good. I was looking at the raptor, but there isnt really a build that i can find out there.
So mainly im looking for suggestions on a decent interceptor for all around flight. Im currently in cormorant and im going to pick up and build a frigate soon. any help would be greaty apreciated!
Ps: i still havent overly decided on guns vs missles debate just a head up :P

All are pretty much good, there's a "fighter," and "tackler," interceptor. Only ones to note as not being so good...

Hmm the raptor seemed like one of the top choices *boggle* hehe just for knowledge sake how come the raptor is one to stay away from.
Bassically i was assuming raptor > crow

Ok, for T2 frigs here is a rundown.
Caldari
Crow - awesome little ship, 3 launchers of pain
Raptor - Crap, don't use this ship.
Harpy - Fun ship
Hawk - Going to be good after patch when it get's more launcher hardpoints
Gallente
Taranis - Most deadly ceptor in game if in the hands of a skilled enough pilot. Also this is the ceptor that will get you killed the fastest if you pilot it wrong.
Ares - T2 Shuttle
Enyo - Blaster Enyo w/ Void and MWD nuff said
Ishkur - Best frigate sized frigate/cruiser killer
Amarr
Don't get Amarr Frig V. It's worthless, despite what other's say.
Minmatar
Claw - Good solo and in gangs, pretty fast
Stiletto - 4 mids means you can fit mucho scrams on it, really good tackler
Wolf/Jaguar - they are aimed to be "fast" assault frigates, but they lack the speed of ceptors and the armor/shields of other AFs in their class, making them almost as bad as the Amarr AFs. Just go with an interceptor then these.

There is no best interceptor but the Taranis or the Crow are a pretty good start

I adore stiletto's. Hardly fly much of the others anymore altho I could fly claws and crows on the same character if I wanted.
I don't use them for soloing btw, but for gang in a semi-supportive role. It's by far the most versatile inty.

seem to recall from an earlier dps comparison thread on ceptors that a raptor with blasters and rockets outdid a rocket crow in dps.

I particularly like Crows, but I have a Taranis and Claw in the hangar should I feel like a change. I have a Crusader somewhere as well, but I don't enjoy flying it as much.
Don't discount Raptors or Maledictions (feel free to discount Ares). They're both cheap and have three med slots, making them perfectly capable tacklers. Just don't expect to be THAT high on the kill mail  |

I agree and disagree. I rather be like everyone else and have more speed/damage than utility when in gang oppertunities.
As far as solo and everything else the Stiletto is SOOOO much better than the claw. IMHO that is... I think it's the top solo inty out there. Even over the mighty crow (Sorry wimps).

The crow is the best for actual fighting and tackling
The stiletto is best for frig fleets and mid sized fleet support.

The Raptor is pretty decent, I don't fly one myself - I personally hate the thing.
But a corp mate is very good in it

raptor is underated, damage compared to the crow if not equal it cant be far behind, 3 mids so can tackle, plus its cheaper

I dislike the 2 medslot Interceptors because if you go MWD/Web you're limiting yourself to solo play and frig fights. Taranis and Crow can roam 0.0 and engage bigger targets too without having them warp off. Something a Claw or Sader can't, unless you refit.

tbh, crusader is ok inty, but with lasers it has web or scram sickness and it takes too long to pop armor. Claw does armor thing much faster , so less ppl warp out if you have web.
Crow is just retarded, no cap, insane range, doesn't matter how you fly, you always hit, etc. Luckily it is expensive:P
