Mining - invaluable having a miner/hauler to help whenever you need one.
Hauling - long afk movements in safe space while you do something more interesting on main.
Scouting for main in low sec.
Training things you don't want to train on your main, like mining barge5, hauler 5, production efficiency 5 etc.,.
R& D agents
loads of other things

I don't, but many others do. From what I've heard, best system is second ship as support (e.g., remote repping), with damage dealer as secondary role.

The use of ALTS in game play as scouts is a lame and cheap tactic at best, it is in essence BUYING with real world money an ingame advanatge, no better than the lamers that buy their ISK off ebay.

I do this. It's pretty easy once you get the hang of it.
I also use my alt for shopping, afk ship hauling, occasinal safespot busting and t2 production.
Come to think of it, shes more useful than me

two accounts, both mains for pvp and combatative pve, alt for hauling, alt for trading, alt for forum market, alt for posting when the other account is inactive or i cba switching logged in account on forums.
That's about it.
