This is my issue entirely. The Armageddons only purpose is to be a gunship. It's bonuses combined with it's layout as Elve adroitely put almost requires a tackler. It's optimal with maxxed is about 16km. Shouldn't it pwn from there? But honestly it doesn't, a well piloted BT will win.
Only if the BT can dominate range. A BT-pilot spends midslots for MWD + good webber to be able to do that, nothing stops you from putting in "range domination"-mods as well.

It seems to me that BT pilots want to have thier cake and eat it too. A MWD, Neut, and injector fitted with a tank is a recipe for pwning everything. And it does it quite well according to what I am hearing from the test server.
MWD+Neut+injector+heavy tank == not possible hell, your tank cant even be heavy if you use Ions+heavy nos.

Starting from mid range, where Amarr should shine, BT's are beating down Armas. Tbh that is incorrect as the BT is a CLOSE RANGE ship. A BT that can fit the whole kit and caboodle not only pwns at close range, it pwns at medium range because the actual distance between close and medium is quite small.
It is only "small" if you sit still, without your own speedmods, and waits for the BT to get into its optimal. TBH, Amarr pilots seems to have grown lazy and complacent, with an attitude of "I shouldnt have to move, ever.". Sorry, only the Raven can function like that.
A BT makes sacrifices to get into his range. Of course BT pilots are used to this, since they pretty much always need to MWD a few cycles before they can even start to fire, even if the target sits still. Now geddon pilots are also in a situation where you don't pwn all just by sitting still, and you might have to start thinking of making the sacrifices to keep yourself in your optimals. As upsetting as I understand this is for you, my sympathy is close to zero.
Starting range shouldnt be the end-all determiner, tactics and movement should matter. And if your setup can't move at all, yes, then you should lose to a BT from 15km. OTOH, with an MWD of your own, you should of course stand a better chance... (don't know if that is actually the case).
If you want to hit the BT while he is close, fit a webber, if you want to keep the fight near your optimal, fit MWD, disruptor (and injector?)

Allowing neuts, mwd, and injector, and tank to be fit on a mega essentially completely negates it's one glaring weakness - the need for range.
Lucky then that the neutron+MWD+injector setups don't leave room for much of a tank.
