Anyone have any tips on ice mining? What is the most lucrative ice to mine in high sec space and in what region can it be found? Thanks.

Only thing to mine in high (>.4) space yields isotopes. Some low sec has ore that yields heavy water and liquid ozone, but your barge will get popped without (and quite easily with) support in those lower sec systems. I think that the new medium exhumer can make high sec mining a respectable source of income, though "lucrative" wouldn't be how I would describe it.

You can just about make 4-5 mill an hour in a mack with maxed out skills and mining director 5 link as well and the mind link implant.
And thats just for 4-5 mill an hour in empire

I'm mining Ice in .5 and .7 space and getting White Glaze. This is yielding Liquid Ozone, Heavy Water and Isotopes.
And there is no way a big fat slow barge should go anywhere near .4 or below without several well armed/equipped support ships.

even if a barge has supposrt all the pirate has to do is aim for that first and its gone in about 10 secs

Get decent shield resitances skills and a hardener and you will find that it is siginificantly more difficult to destroy a mack.

High sec ice gives mostly isotopes (300), and a little bit of heavy water(50), liquid ozone(25) and strontium clathrates.(1)
Low sec ice you can find glare crust and dark glitter, which yield 1000 heavy water, and 500 liquid ozone and 50 strontium clathrates. (500 Heavy water, 1000 liquid ozone for dark glitter)
In 0.0 you can find Gelidius (500 LO, 250 HW, 100 strontium) and Krystallos (100HW, 250 LO 100 Strontium Clathrates)and enriched 'racial ice' (Which yields 350 isotopes, 75 heavy water, 40 liquid ozone, and 1 strontium clathrates. )
Low sec mining is hazardous, as I'm sure you're aware - barges are squishy. Mackinaws are somewhat more robust though, and Dark Glitter/Glare crust is actually relatively valuable. (You don't get anywhere near enough LO/HW for empire ice)
