Originally we had planned to "only" give away 3B ISK in cash prizes - 3B ISK seemed appropriate for a 3 year anniversary
But then a sponsor offered to put in "a bit extra" - Which I was only happy to hear. Imagine my shock when I saw just how much that sponsor was going to add to the pot.
All the ships in the prizelist (also the Main Prize) + and additional 2.5B ISK has been donated by this sponsor.
I hereby offer my extreme gratitude to Cally from Eve Intergalactic Bank for this gracious gift. It's magnitude is simply unheard of in the history of EVE (to my knowledge), and is definatly a major contributor to making this the BIG Lottery 3 Year Anniversary round very special indeed.
Who knows if we'll ever see such an absolutly huge BIG Lottery pot ever again. Maybe in a years time? [:-]
Time will tell.
For now I wish everyone the best of luck (if you buy tickets) in the BIG Lottery 3 Year Anniversary round.
Good Luck.

The BIG Lottery 3 Year Anniversary
3 years ago the first ever BIG Lottery was held. (in release)
The amazing price was one Vexor Cruiser + one cruiser skillpack. 38 EVE pilots took part, and bought tickets for 1,639,000 ISK. BIG added some extra ISK to make it a nice round sum of 5M ISK.
The winner had the option of taking the ISK, or the Vexor + cruiser skillpack. The winner wisely chose the latter option (worth more) - Vexors where expensive back than [:-]
The BIG Lottery has moved on a bit since then. Both with regards to number of participants (max beeing 5,202 in one round) and with regards to ticket income (max beeing 7,126,879,000 ISK in one round) and not least the size of prizes (max beeing around 3-4B in one round at a very rough guess)
We naturally hope to beat all those numbers for this very special occation
3 years is a very long time - Unbelievable long really. 3 years of typing in tickets manually from the wallet (/me waves a stick at CCP) As of this writing theres 29156 records in the BIG Lottery database. Unbelievable...
78 of those belong to one very special person, I would like to 'honor' by mentioning here in the BIG Lottery 3 Year Anniversary post. Namely : Omber Zombie.
Omber Zombie has played in each and every round of the BIG Lottery since the beginning. Hence the 78 entries And still hasnt won a thing...
Now thats dedication - Thank you OZ
Now, to give OZ (and everyone else , a reasonable chance of winning *something* in this the BIG Lottery 3 Year Anniversary round, we have piled up the number of prizes higher than ever before seen in the history of the BIG Lottery.
Theres simply oodles and oodles of prizes, 2-3 times more than ever before seen in any round of the BIG Lottery.
Not only is there more individual prizes than ever before, the total value of the prizes also far overshadows anything else ever before seen in the BIG Lottery.
To value of the prizes for the BIG Lottery 3 Year Anniversary round is somewhere in between 6.5B and 7B ISK total - A bit depending on how much value you put on the main prize
I prodly present you with the prize list for the BIG Lottery 3 Year Anniversary round

You might want to take a look at the first post in this thread again - I've just added 16 new prizes, sponsored by Aurora.
Bringing it to a total of 41 prizes - Well in excess of 11B ISK in prizes (anyone care to guess at the full value?)

Oh bloody hell... Those new prizes sure seems to have done the trick.
Yesterday when I made my post, there was sold tickets for 2B ISK.
Now - Less than 24 hours later, it's doubled and then some...
I have no idea when I'll be able to catch up on getting tickets entered into the lottery DB - Please be patient...

Whoops... This was such an easy fix that I never actually bothered to check it...
Which ofc meant I fuxored it
Should work now though (I've checked)

Please keep in mind that our website is hosted on a private computer, and is not an enterprise grade server...
So it might be 'sweating it' every now and again.
Try again a bit later when (hopefully) the load has gone down a bit.

"BIG Games Extra" & "BIG Games Help" are the two extra channels we've set up (due to the limit of 50 on the original channel - Which we can not change...)
They will be manned in due time.
And we hope to get someone into the "BIG Games" channel as well - To tell ppl to bugger of to one of the other channels
And likewise to keep spamming "BIG Games" regularly about the presense of the other channels.

Yes we do.... Granted, it's not as well written as it could be, but the info is there

i did notice, that nomatter how many tickets you buy, you have to buy them 1 at a time, to actually get the number of tickets you want....
Erherm... no. Each ticket has its own number. Read above link.

Decimal places??? I think you've misunderstood what modulus is about
---------
I currently dont have time for the promised rebuff (going out the door shortly), I would however point out (once more) that the rules for how the actual drawing is conducted can be found on the lottery pages.
Theyve been there since day one.
So comming here whining about the method used (and even in many many cases, showing a total lack of comprehension about the process/math involved) is neither here nor there.
If you dont like it - No one is forcing you to play. You have only your self to blaim for not informing yourself beforehand (not to mention educate yourself as well in many cases...)
So please - Calm down already OK.
--------
Now theres two main reasons for doing it the way we do.
1: It's rig proof. You cant cheat, and even as important - Nor can I. 2: It's about *involving* people in the process of the drawing - It's "interactive" if you will.
The last point is very important to me.
Simply sitting in a channel hearing winners beeing called out, as I query some (pseudo)-random thingymaj for a number, and then look up the winner in the DB, whats the fun in that?
Sure, it would be helluva lot faster than the way we do it today - But would be equally less fun as well. Might as well just read about it in my post later.
I'd also like to point out that during a 'normal' draw - Theres alot more fun&games going on, not necessarily having much to do with the drawing itself
But theres also usually *far* less people in the channel - Who all know how to behave, so everyone has a good time as well...
The heavy use of modding last night, was (not unexpected) necessary due to the (sadly large) amount off a-holes who inhabit EVE, who thinks fun is about ruining others fun (I'll just never understand that mindset).
As mentioned, under 'normal' circumstances, the actual drawing proces is much more fun filled (not too mention *a lot* shorter ) BIG Lottery
