A slightly simpler version of eve would be cool to introduce your kids into this type of gaming. Aimed at kids age 6 to 12 i would say. In this game one feature of eve should be kept and that the pvp element. Let them learn young its only a game and let them learn games arent always for winning.

I think they should just keep eve going and never move onto anything else! I want it to get to the point where you can fly down to planets etc :) If Eve keeps evolving the way that it has been I dont see any reason to stop. Expecially with the gfx overhauls in the pipeline etc.

I would have to agree with a MMOFPS.
Its such an un-tapped market.Planetside had a great initial concept but the follow through has been teh suck.
If there is one thing CCP has better than any other games developement company....its the follow through.
Hell just a MMOFPS without CSHD (client side hit detection) would be nice ________________ What you do is you store up the rage, let it fester while you gain strength, then use it to gank those weaker than you... and so the circle of life is complete |

Get this. You start out with a planet. Your conquering of the planet and how you rule it is basically your character creation, though longer. Not saying that you are an emporer. It could be, but it could also look like earth does right now. You as a player would represent a planetary representation commitee. Then the game starts out. Your planet gets to perform services or produce products for other player's planets to buy. There would be useful tools to show what services/products are in high demand and which aren't. Virtually anything you could think of would be possible product or service. Just like in EVE you wouldn't have to be there, you just need to establish your policy. Other players could come along and sell stuff to your populus (if your populus wants it) as long as you allow them to do so. For instance. You might offer a product that others see, they buy it from you. You policy has set up to use another player's fedex system, and this happens when you are offline. But there are major social aspects to the game as well.
Your planet would pass through several levels of civilization depending on wealth and level of technological advancement. The point? To spread like germs. Spread your influence to the limits and beyond. Maybe even eventually wage wars but that would have to be purely consentual.
There would be a CONCORD type civilization that is gazillions of lightyears ahead of everyone else. So massively far advanced we might as well just call the collective civilization God. And God keeps peace throughout the galaxy. As long as you abide by their rules of peace, they will be there to defend you. If you choose to not want their blanket of protection you could request them to not interfere.
As far as the levels of civilizations go, I'd like to see the model where they eventually start getting their fuel source from stars, harvesting stars.
Players could join causes by creating federations, and their advancement would be as one, where you work together to achieve the best effiency.
Kinda like eve, but totally different too.

Whatever game they made, it would in my opinion have to be in the EVE storyline as there's so much for em to use.
Anyway, they seem content just improving EVE, and I for one am all for that

I played Neocron for about 2 years. It was probably the first real mix MMORPG of First Person Shooter. It was released in Summer 2002. It's player driven and offered a complex faction system at least in the original Neocron, and non-consensual pvp.
Imho they just didn't have enough devs to keep up the good work. Lack of new content, delays, delays and even more delays and wrong balancing decisions and changing game mechanics over all too much without listening much too the vets, who were pointing out what's going wrong, dragged the game down imho. Many active clans, like mine (FAnG - Furious Angels next Generation) have left the game in 2004 already. Think the servers are rather empty now. Anyway I hope they can rescue the game. ___________ 'Only ships can be assembled, this is a Frigate.' |

The answer is simple, really. They need to make the MMO component of Spore.
Wait, Spore doesn't have an MMO component? That's where CCP comes in. --------- >>Disclaimer: Anything Nukeitall says is not to be taken seriously. Mostly. |

They need to make a first person shooter in a spacegame that is a spinoff from Eve and bases everyone on different planets. Puts Eve on the surface... expands corps to the ground... while also allowing 'carebear' style play intertwined with shootemup styles.

It's not an MMO, it has many servers run by individual users. IMO, not as good as it had the potential for. I played Starlancer and got FL when it came out after all the hype on Lancers Reactor... Very disappointed since it was supposed to be an open start and open ended game. Unless you completed the storyline, you couldn't advance in levels for better ships etc cos some levels required a storyline mission to advance. Lancers Reactor guys released a mod to allow you to skip the story which you couldn't do otherwise. Microsoft screwed it when they took over Digital Anvil and got rid of FL's lead designer it just went downhill from there.

Seconded.
After reading the short story "Forsaken Ruins", how cool would it be to (for example) play the part of of a Minmatar Commando stalking through a dead space station. An expansion on this would be Courier missions (where you have to transport commandos) with players actually performing these roles.
With the dev blog stating that they'd like to implement sub-system targeting, how cool would it be to blast off an enemies sheilds and propulsion, and then have a gang of mates board the ship to capture it?
You could extend the tech tree downwards, so Minmatar soldiers would use projectiles (Assault rifles, shot guns etc), Ammarians use lasers etc etc
Pirating would be taken to a whole new level with actual boardings.
If planetary stuff is finally squeezed in, you could have a new class of ship: The Dropship. Think Aliens.
I think it would be cool anyway!

Wait for it, wait for it.... wait!
Zombie MMO, hardcore mode only, you go around scavanging as the dead has begun walking the earth, starting with a small area affected and slowly spreading across the globe in player events where you can try to control it or be a menacing presence yourself. Once you die you become the undead which you can then play with limited skills or re-enter as a new live character elsewhere.
Remind me about The Maze.
I'm Danton Marcellus and I approve of this message. |

Vampire the Masquerade as a MMORPG. Dark (literally! ) bloody and nasty, with plenty of intrigue and lots of space for roleplaying - in fact RPing would be compulsory.
Of course it would have a limited player base, as it would have to be 18-rated...

Why make another game when they can constantly evolve this one? We now have space, stations and ships, we'll get planetary flight then who knows; planetary landing , planetary colonization, mmofps style on planets, xwing style in space etc. etc. The sky is the limit. _______________________________________________
