We are sorry to announce that our corp has ran out of thoraxes. Therefore, the founding members have decided that the doors of HUN should be closed. Starting from next Monday, HUN will retire from playing a role in the future of the galaxy.
We would like to thank everyone who contributed to the 2.5 year history of the corp. Special thanks go to:

Well, if you guys had any clue you'd know why they came to play with us. They didn't so much go join BoB as they joined Dice. During ATUK's time up north we forged a lot of great friendships.
Also, I think that they joined to hear QD on ts. For certain men, it like the voice of the Sirens.

ORLY? Surely HUN must have been cowards simply because some of its veterans (even amongs vets it was only the minority, and from the corp perspective it was only a handful of pople) decided to go to BOB, after the corp has disbanded.

As one of thos guys who joined to BOB, I think I should tell this:
HUN Corp. was the best thing, the best team and the only thing which gave us mostly FUN in this game. HUN was a bouch of cool peeps. We have joined our first alliance as "loyal as hell" title. We were fighting against hostiles hardly, but a 10-15 active member corp cannot change the future... so we started to recruit after leaving IMP.
Things were going cool, we had great fights, and size of never seen hun-gangs, BUT, we are humans, we are hungarians and as we had more people we got more and more morale dropping and more problems inside the corp.
We lost our control over the members so the "Odd HUNs" - the old members, with MolRob and Balazs Simon had started an other style of reform...
We had clash of views between the leadership, up high between CEO vs Vice-CEO vs Directors due to new problems caused by new members... new carebears :)
The old members, who were leading the corp were not able to handle the problems inside the corp and outside to diplomatics and kill kill kill, war over war, no time for mining, no time for production.
We had FUN, but some of the newmembers didnt, so we started to cry STFU...
2006.05.05 The Active PvP learership of HUN have left the corp including me too.
(I was a production director, but I was fighting more than facturing)
We had to chose between "Calcel Account and say goodbye everyone" or "Join BOB and try to still have FUN in this game".
As an Ex-Vice-CEO of HUN Corp. I have to say that our step wasnt too honourable, so you dont have to respect for those who made this with HUN, I only ask you to try to understand the points of resasons.
By our step, as we have disbanded the "most naughty Hungarian Corporation", we 've made a clear way to 3-4 Hungarian Corporations to merge into the newly made Wings of Turul Corporation.
WoT is the next generation of HUN. I wish them the best, and hope our old enemies will fight them with the same honour and respect as they did to us.
... well, I think its all, I go to grab some food and continue practicing being a BOB member :)

I have seen so many posts of newer BoB players on the forums in the last months, names I recognized as former FA, PA, ... players. And god knows how many more there are on your member lists. Maybe the HUN guys here don¦t fall into this category, if so I apologize to them. There is a chance my little rant hits an innocent thread.
But my point still stands. Lots of players joined BoB because they were not up for a challenge. They claim to do it for the fun, and actually reach the opposite. Kryz said it: it¦s hard for you to get a fight these days. Well, it will get harder with every veteran pvp¦er that joins you.
And Kryz, you know very well that [G] didn¦t fear anyone in this game. Nothing changed, apart from our name. We will fight you when the time is right. Btw: last time it was you who brought 300 friends.

Ok I don't want this to come across as a whine or a flame so will be careful with my words as it is not the intent at all, especially as within their ranks there are those I consider EVE friends.
BoB have built up since their formation into probably the most formidable military machine that EVE has seen from release date. They have the best equipment through a program of cooperation and the determined aquisition of tech 2 BPOs etc. They also have a huge number of very talented and veteran pvp pilots, names such as Avon, Siddy, TWD, Sforza, Ifni that were stars in their corps and allianes such as Huff, Moo, Ushra Khan and DNA.
In other alliances you would have these guys at the top of the military, training up people and leading them on, in BoB there are many like them, all superbly equiped and surrounded by equals. Of course kudos to the BoB leadership for building such an alliance to start with and it is paying off as nothing is more seductive than to be surrounded by peers that are as motivated and wanting to give their all to those that do the same. For example you have ex alliance leaders such as Abrina Overlord (sp) and Pershphanie both motivated people who have demonstrated that they give their all for others, trust me I envy you not getting shot by convos any more .
However the recent massive expansion of BoB and absorbtion of endless streams of aforementioned talent will obviously make it harder and harder for BoB to get fights and people to fight them back let alone mount a concerted effort to attack them as a group. If people want to have fights all the time then maybe joining less powerful alliances like FIX, SA, Huzzah etc will satisfy that goal. For example yesterday my alliance was involved in actions against BoB, Adaptus Gattacus (sp), Lokta Volterra, FIX, RAT and more all within our region of Catch and that is a normal day. This morning I log on in V2-vc2, undock and had some fun fighting a FIX guy in local, what more could you want?
I don't think this is the end of EVE or that people are cowards joining BoB as they are an agressive alliance, I just see that there seems to be an imbalance forming which appeats to be accelerating.

Well, glad you got the main bit right. But why concentrate on BoB? D2 has many names that are just as old, lets see if i can pull some out the hat: Commander Woodlouse, Gyro DuAquin(sp), Ryan Routine, Nafri, Phonix. Don't really need to go on; ex-m0o, GNW vets, recognized solo pilots, ex-Tundragon. All as venerated and experienced as any of our guys, and oh boi! in polar position to ours! There's a co-incidence, and no imbalance there at all.
Getting a bit sick of this BoB bandwaggoning/hating/fanboism, call it what you want. If you really look carefully you'll find people all over the place that have great PvPers, indistrialists, and all the other aspects of the game. Yet it still never ceases to amaze me that people have to concentrate on BoB when they've got their own game to play. Is your game really that boring? (yes, i am talking to Nyphur from ISS whose fan boi application is in teh post, you know when you see him in local there will be yet another crap bob thread spawned, thx for nothing) We get a couple of BS threads started about us each day and why? 
If we kick your potted plants round your greehouse, steal your stash and boot your kitten on the way out we are publically accussed of:

About the easy way:
I cannot imagine guys, why we r walking on the easy way. We fought in FA againt BoB, we fought in IMP against BoB, ...against .5., ... against IRON+G, ...aganinst SA, ...against MC, .... against D2, ... against Celestial Apoc. So we were allways fighting on a short side of life. It seems all the way was a hard one. And now we wanted to join to a well organised corp from a well organised corp with ppl who r good fellas.
Yes they were enemy but good one.
Yes we were invited and yes we accepted it.

You were with FE when we were fighting .5., why did you join BOS? And please point out one place where Persh called BoB or .5. backstabbers or whatever. You can't because in order for them to be backstabbers, they have to be friends first and the first time that happened, was when Persh made friends with .5..

I wont post the whole thing as i dont want to embarsse the person but in short many people come to BOB becuse thier corp m8s cant follow orders, go hide when hostils come around have, fcs who cant target call and they seek better playing field. This is not being big headed but in fact when i was in ATUK and doing recuritment we had the same issue, and the same things said in apps time and time again.BOB, ATUK and many others have given people great models to follow. So in short if your in a corp or allince who operate this way maybe it time to fix yourselfs and stop blameing others when people leave for better corps.
And on that note my comments about the HUN'S and persephanie
The people who came from HUNS erned the respect of Dice members - old ATUK command and the welcome addition to persephanie was a pluse most of these people made friends with many of us during our time in the north and anyone would be stupid to reject quailty people and this goes more then just guns. You may say they ran to us but in fact alot of us stayed in touch even after the split of the five. So twist it how ever you want BUT taking in 7 people isnt the distruction of eve as some of you guys want to make it out to be.
These are my personal views as a Membership Director of Dice and of the Old ATUK which i have done now currently for almost 2years and p.s ( no we are not recruiting)

HUN Corp will always be a well and fondly remembered part of my EVE history.

Well, this thread is about a great corp closing it's doors, and nothing else.
To those that went to BOB, Balasz and co, we miss ya up here, but have fun down there...or over there....or :)
To those that will go elsewhere, there will always be a home for the Huns anywhere I am.

Nice post again Hans. I left start of your post out cause i dont want to be long reading.
Point of view for some ppl are that ex corps/pilots joined BoB as an easy way to get to something. That might be true for some, Im even sure of it.
But there is also point of view that such pilots/corps came to BoB cause BoB can provide plans and future. Something that majority of alliances can not.
If you provide them some goals that might keep them interested im sure they would join other alliances.
I mean, it isnt enough just to have bunch of corps flying under same name in particular regions. Coordination and goals is something that will pull in good PvP pilots. Something BoB definatly can provide.
So, I suggest to work on your (all alliances) organizattion, coordination, motivation nad offcourse public relation with set plan of goals.
Staying alive and get some wealth is not something interesting for PvP pilots, IMO :)
DEAD or ALIVE we allways have some fun. DO YOU??

i'll never forget the HUN's suicide gank squads going to h-pa just to have fun and return in pods to d7/IMK or go directly to the cloning station hehe
this announcement didn't suprise me that much cause i saw this coming a few months ago when i started to see a growing friendship between the directorships of both HUN and ATUK corps.
It's still a sad day when a corp that old like hun shuts down it's activity on EVE, however i'm happy to see that they actually joined up with DICE (BOB).
HUNS, good luck in DICE and you'll notice a interesting feeling you're going to get when you're in a fleet fight and people actually do exactly how they are told by the best FC's in the game (i.e. Tholarim)

Great corp very well organized.
All the best for u all where ever u go and i hope i will hear sometime Balazs voice on TS (a funny accent and in the same time he makes people very confident in him)
ps KiaTolon when delta left ERA we had 35-38% from total kills, anyway numbers dont count. No hard feelings we still r friends and we killed for u in bkg a D2 freighter last day.
I can say we was scared when we saw in our dictor bubble a big bad ship...almost to gangwarp out :)
Just wondering how D2 can let a freighter alone without escort. WTF its happening with the perfect planing and logistic from d2? |
