OK, so this is totally the wrong place for a 'Im quitting' post, but since this forum has been my home for a good year or more now I figured it was fitting.
I've decided that I've had enough of playing Eve - the lack of balance, the lack of fixes for things that need fixing, but most of all, the fact that in order to play the high endgame you need numbers and not skill.
Blob warfare is becoming more and more prevalent with certain corps and alliances reaching unstoppable levels not through ability, but through sheer numbers. Is this wrong, or not representative of the way wars are fought? No. Does it make this *game* fun and interesting? No. Some people enjoy playing the game for solo and small group kills and good fights, but these are few and far between. The majority of the game, when it comes down to it, consists of fights you cannot lose, or fights you cannot win.
A lot of people will disagree with this, but please remember it's merely my opinion.
Anyway, byebyes to all you ships and module freaks, we've had some good discussions and crunched some good numbers, come up with some good setups and some bad ones. I've enjoyed answering questions and dicussing things in far too much detail a lot, and it's passed many an hour away in work.

Sad to see someone, who gave his fair share of contribution to the Ships & Modules community, leave, but tbh I'm thinking of leaving for the exact same reasons u stated above. I really wished the balance between the races was more like in Starcraft instead of trying to monotonize all of them. About blob warfare.. yeah its gonna kill the game in the long run as its simply not fun for neither side.

Yes, blob warfare is boring. I also prefer small skirmish warfare. And there are people around that do those. But the chance is probably smaller in the big 0.0 alliances.
Anyway, I doubt you'll find better support and balancing in another game. Unless you plan on quitting online games at all.
That being said, you've been one of the funny ones here. Ship and modules freaks.. hehe I like that.

I dunno, there's a lot to be said for a game where skill, tactics and build play a large part. Not many games have all three in such good measures.
And if I get bored, there's always Auto Assault ^^

I didn't mean GW is a bad game, or anything... it's just, it goes so far in its attempt to make it a streamlined, "fair" and in the long run rather pointless experience ... that it's like CS or similar online shooters -- a lot of fun, but in small doses. Which means if one plays it, they're given to put it on hold sooner rather than later ^^
(and Auto Assault? eeeew...

TBH I share several of the opinions you espoused in the initial post - especially about the swing towards blob combat - and that's the reason I no longer PvP. Having said that, I live in hope that balance will come and I try to contribute to that by testing on Sisi, making appropriate suggestions and such. I'm sure you've done that yourself and perhaps a break away will motivate you to come back and try to poke the devs some more
While I appreciate that changes in this game often happen at a snail's pace it is worth bearing in mind one thing - they do, at least, change. Therein lies hope.
