The new font is just... BAD. I use 12pt and extended in 1600x1200, and it keeps getting harder and harder to read. PLEASE PLEASE! Make the extended be just that!
teh ioctl doesn't mine - he looks at the asteroids and they warp to the nearest station and refine themselves. |

I don't like the new font either. The moment I logged on I just noticed something wasn't right. Then I noticed the chat spacing and my entire UI just felt bigger as if I had gone down in resolution. Guess this has to do with the font spacing being changed 
Change is good and all but at least give us the option to revert to the old look.

Sorry I dont see the difference ... oops Im using Microsofts Tahoma for the lower case any how so theres no change for me.
Personally the font isnt going to change much because .....
a) --- its futuristic so angles rule as per all 1970 sci fi.....which we all know is absolute faeces.
b) --- To license a workable/ usable font will cost CCP a lot of money. So they use the free 8 bit fonts from so many 1980s games ... aka defender / elite etc.
c) --- If you take the time to break into the font you will actually see it has been created in a, let me say " very poor fashion " and " on the cheap" so to speak.
There are better fonts out there but for ccp to use them then they have to pay.
You youself can change the the font by breaking the EULA. just the same way you have your own music list etc. You get the game you want to play and it doesnt cost CCP anything.
anyway back to doing things.... stuff ..... what ever.

Again they screwed up the text. When you hover over the left buttons on the neo com they look stupiditly congested into one another... The space fonts looks... "unusual", while the rest... no difference

I agree 100% that this is one of the worst fonts they have used to date. GRRRR.. bring back the old one please.. ...

That's damn hilarious... in a sad way. :( Now, many cyrillic users are screwed, as the font is ugly. The symbols are spaced so wide to each other (when you use cyrillics), that you can easily fit extra symbols in between. Well, the reason is obvious. They made spacing wider to fit in asian hieroglyph, but it doesn't mean that we have to suffer now. Seems like they care now more about asian community, than about us... :(
Damn, devs make it possible for us to choose different fonts.

Thats at 1280 x 1024. condensed font width . Size 10 menu font.
The splash screen looks a tad dodgy but sod it.
It could be available for download, but not here Im afraid as it is a EULA breaker.

CCP hire this person, and fire the current font-master.
If the reasoning is to allow for asian charactors, then do this craptastic fubaring of fonts on the new asian server, not on OURS.
PLease evemail me the link on how to change the font like you have, if it is a choice to break eula or quit the game, I will break the eula.

tested, a few small flaws (font overlapps a few things, but remains legible in ALL areas)
I recommend CCP allow this, or face the chance of banning a few thousand players that break eula so they can read the menus in the game the pay a fee to play (without worrying their eyes will explode).

CCP, pls, oh pls, can't you make a font that has clear differences between "D" and "O", and "8" and "B" and others. After few months in game I still don't know whether it's CBO Corporation or CBD Corporation in Caldari space

Dear CCP a font that is unable to differ between single chars horrible fails it use - readability. Please add difference to 0 and O, between & and 6 between 8 and B.

hi again . yes I have a font now that works around the ccp double spacing so It is possible to "show all" for courier missions
the font now uses a work around solution, via swapping between condensed and normal,
I have been told its ok and (apart from that instance ) works fine. Im still working on the metrics as some letters have become slightly corrupt - but this is only visible ( invisible ) during game play,
It is a shame I cant post the link here but I stand by ccps wishes / rules
however as many know , all variants are available for download, by simply eve mailing me.( Ill soon have a dedicated site up and running but for the moment it is how it is )
dont give up on the game just becauce the font is poor ... try mine :)

I must admit(and Im new to all this) but 0llyies( is that howy ou spell it ) help and guidance and simple hard work ( lets face it ,to come up with a new set of characters .must have needed some effort) have let me continue on what is I think a brilliant game.

Sorry, I thank you for your support into making a better font. However I do not wish any individual to get into any trouble from the powers that be.
I will get a site up and running and the font variation will be my last for a week or so. ( Depends on my saignificant other half :)( ( damned If I know the sign for that one)

Keep churning out excellent fonts like that and they'll be banning an awful lot of people.
CCP either hire this man or let it be known that using "User Defined" fonts is ok with you and people won't get the ban stick thrown at them ?
Could a font change even be detected by CCP for that matter ?

Since I bought a new screen with a higher resolution, it has also gotten worse. I've lost count of the number of times I've seen conversations in channels regarding something, and there's been confusion about the letters.
CCP, please, I implore you. At least permit us to change the font.

I play in 1920x1200 and although the font on the whole is fairly clear, there's still the 0O 1I ,. and the spacing issues. Nothing beat the Cold War font imo. It fit perfectly and was the easiest to read.
Here's a couple of recent screenies, and although you can make out all the text, the spacing issues are quite noticable.
