first of all, sorry for my limited english, hope you guys can understand. i have read some topics about the chines server as well as the chinese players. i found that most of foreign friends don't like us and treat all of us as isk farmer. just take me as a example to introduce us to you guys, i am a students that have been studied overseas for around 4 years, and try every little chance to learn and improve english. some of my foreign friends had been told me that there is a way that can improve your english faster, that is playing a english game, hopefully try communicate with those english-speaking players as much as possible, so that's one of the reason i in eve now. at the begining, i come her just for my english, but lately i found eve is a pretty nice game that i never meet before, i am falling in love with it. another thing that i achieved from this game is most of foreign players are very friednly, no matter who you are, no matter what questions you asked, there will always be some guys answer your question at the first time, i feel so warm here, it is just like a family, players look after each others. compare with the chinese online game, here i am talking about the environment, there are always some macro players and isk farmers there break the game rules, so that's one of the reasons i choose stay here rather than go back to chinese server, even i know the subscription fee in china will be cheaper. but there are lots of my friends just like me also have the same selection to stay here not because of isk, we just play for fun, for having more foreign friends, for our english :), for the fair game environment etc too much to say, but ...... can't express what i thought. all to all, just hope you guys understand our true chinese players, there are certain number of chinese players are not as your thought, hope you can get it.

Welcome to Eve-Online Marryandy.
It is true that there are a few people who decide to cheat and use macros. It's a sad thing but reality.
I say bravo to your courage to post your ideas, and wish you the best of luck in Eve-Online. You're doing a good job learning a new language, keep it up!

Hello marryandy and welcome to EVE .
Your English isn't as limited as you think it is, sure it could use a touch up but it's better than most foreign players I have met.
Good luck in EVE, hopefully you will be here for a while .
See you around.

Ni ho ma. Hope I said that right .
I think there are some nice people playing EVE and posting on the forums and I think there are a number of...shall we say...negative people who are also here as well. Just ignore the ones who like to blame everything on other countries, other people, and instead make friendships with the good people of EVE.
When in doubt look for the Canadians, we're a friendly bunch .
I make cool banners for ISK.

Welcome EVE will vastly improve your english, as it did in my case And yeah, the friendship that EVE creates is amazing, I've played numerous games in my life, most of them only revolve around shooting/bashing hostile players, although EVE has that too there's way more time for just normal chat I've made friends with people that I would've never met outside EVE, simply amazing, and.. warm
Again, welcome and enjoy your stay

Edited by: The Hand on 25/05/2006 02:07:17 As Nyabinghi said people are always quick to blame other countries or cultures as a scape goat. however saying that most isk, macro users are chinese/asian or whatever is totaly unfair,
If you look at the likes of ebay you will see that most of the isk sellers are in, the usa, uk, germany, all over the place oh and Iceland (???), you shouldnt have to feel an outcast or un-welcome cause some people are quick to judge,
At the end of the day The macro/farming problem has been here for a long time now and ccp dont seem to be in a hurry to get rid of them (I Wonder why) I would guess that 15-20% of the current subscribers are macroes and thats alot of cash to lose.
Ccp if you read this perhaps you would like to comment on why people pertition farmers and macroes all the time yet the accounts never get banned?
there had my rant, so marryandy fly safe, enjoy the game and ignore those narrow minded childish people who are nasty with you cause they think your a closet macroer.

WELCOME Marryandy!
EVE is a great game to work on your english. It has it's fast paced moments where you won't be able to think straight, much less talk correctly. But there will be lots of down time where you can chat with fellow corp mates or alliance members.
EVE has a great playerbase that I believe have an average age higher then that of most other online games. Therefore you'll find alot of relaxed and helpful individuals.
Good luck in EVE.

welcome to the game it is true a % of ISK farmers are from the poor countries (not specific to china) welcome to the game - quick hint try to get a reasonable sounding name - join a player corp that will reduce any hostilities - try to comminicate if youre mining and peeps come up say hey im real bugger off (but being in a player corp will probably help no end)

Marryandy, i respect your post and agree with you. But im sure you will agree with me that while it is VERY unfair, and I mean VERY unfair to say that all chinese players are isk farmers (after all you are a chinese player just enjoying the game), it is fair to say that most of the ISK farmers/macroers, are Chinese.

The reason for that is that the ISK sellers realise that no one is going to give internet pay details to someone based in China or Nigeria.

So... your point being? Is he affecting the way you play your game? Is he paying less to play EVE?
Also, He mentioned that he's an "OVER SEA" student, meaning he's probably somewhere in North America or Europe so your argument is invalid.
And just like him, I am sure you can log onto the Chinese server, if you download the Chinese client. Just like how he downloaded the western EVE client to play in your server.
So take a chill pill with all your sarcasm.
I am so tired of people saying that Chinese people shouldn't get their own server or cannot play EVE with other people. They pay just as much as you do, so quit whining.
To say or even hint that Chinese people shouldn't play EVE is down right racist.
And ya... to the OP, welcome to EVE, if you need any help, give me a shout in game. And I apologize in advance too if my English is not perfect, I am a Chinese too. AND PROUD TO BE ONE! null

The OP must be pleased that people are buying his act.
Next time though don't use abbreviations like etc and try to confuse your and you're. It's more beliveable that way.

u wont be here much longer as CCP will block all IPs based from china once the localised chinesse serenty shard goes up. Its part of their license agreement as far as i know all mainland and territories of china will be restricted to the chiensse version. And the rest of the world will have TQ - this will let us see how big a macroer problem is when they are all nerfed
Nothing against the chinesse one would hope u would be allowed on TQ but its not looking good.
