My refine skill is 3. Should i refine and sell the minerals or just sell the ore?

Goto refine the ore but dont press accept...
Calculate how much you will get by selling the minerals...
Try sell the ore.. calculate how much you get...
Go for the one with most isk..

I also have Refine III, generally speaking I profit more if I sell raw ore than I do by refining and selling the minerals.
Try finding a friend with higher refinery skills until you can train yours up a bit.

you can't tell, cause some players put out really high buy orders for ore, more than you can ever get for the already refined minerals. Just check market if somone buy for more than you can get when refining minerals.
NPC prices:
Trit: 1 isk
Pyrox: 4 isk
Mex: 16 isk
Isogen: 64 isk
Nocx: 256 isk
Zydrine: 1024
Megacyte: 4K something, but it's worth like 8500 isk+, so don't sell it for less.

I have Refine5/Efficiency4 and have buy orders for ore. What another posted, check what you make for it and what you can sell it for; take the higher. But I wouold add to this that if you sell the ore, you don't have to try and get rid of the minerals for the isk. When you sell the ore, you are paid immediately through the market's order. If you refine, you still will have to get rid of the minerals to finally get paid and that can mean deliveries to unload it and you may not get full prices in some systems.
So not only look to see what pays more, but your time and effort to unload the minerals too. Sometimes it is better to sell the ore for immediate isk, then to wait for it.

For me, right now, its better to sell the ore directly. I only have Refining lvl4. The guy who have buy order have refining lvl5 and effeciency lvl 4, something like that. So even if he give me a good price, he make money refining the ore I sell him.

Exemple:
I am mining omber. I calculate that the sell price have to be at least 29,14 to be better than refining it. There's a guy who buy it for 36 isk! So its very very good for me! And for him i suppose!

I have Refining 5 and Refinery Efficiency 4 and now make fractionally more refining ore myself and selling the minerals rather than selling the ore on.
At Refining 5 and Refinery Efficiency 3 I made more isk just selling the raw unrefined ore.
There's not much in it even after investing a lot in the skills (today I was making 0.68 isk on each unit of plagioclase I bought) so unless refining for a corp/working in rare ore you're probably better just selling the ore on. |

you only start to make a slight profit at refining lvl4 plus the added hassle of selling good amounts of minerals at top prices and transporting the stuff. Therefore u would be better off selling ore until u get on to refine efficiency
