So it looks like CCP Shanghai is going to make dropsuits into BPOs while everything else still requires ISK or materials to make. What do you think about that? Also, what do you think of the progression system in general for Legion?
Discuss... in a civil manner, please. |

In one way I-¦m pretty happy that this finaly is gonna happen for PC, but in the other I-¦d prefere a "real" shooter without different acchievments, unlocks, or weapons... shooters are only fun in arena style where each player has exactly the same options/inventory.... anything else is boring after the first emotional: "WOW-I-waited-sooo-long-for-this"-feeling wich lasts for about a week or so, until there comes the: "but-in-fatct-it-¦s-no-fun-just-unlockings"-feeling^^ "there are million ways to death, but only one way leads to life" |

and I think a arena-shooter would fit much better into EVE, where the Infantry could really get some sense and influence to eve online, so corps/allianzes wich fight for some systems can drop their Infantrys there to get souverity over the planetstechniks wich could give boni to EVEplayers and so on... not only orbitals^^ maybe when the infanry of a corp won a match the corp gets a "**** the law" bonus where concord just doesn-¦t care what they do even in empirespace, until they lose again....could be niceley combined with the new "more highsec options" and "all destroyable" plans with eve.... atleast for the time their soilders on the planets wich hold some important points/structures... or smuggling options of illegalstuff while the infantry has souvernity.... maybe even smuggling PI commoditys around the corners without any taxes while that.... some reasons for EVE players to engage in it would be nice.... and not just another game in the same universe wich just motivates with loads of weapons and unlocks... thats not fun as a shooter.... that for we play EVE......
(all my personal opinion^^)
Sorry, this game is not for you then!

Please for the love of everything grammar look up Wren and Martin and spend some time reading it.
Other than you wanting it to be an Arena shooter you have some fun points in there.

yeah I doesnt have to be the next quake^^ was never meant that way either.... but I-¦d might deliver more fun when it-¦s not just a Planetside3 with another name, as the keynote (for me) suggested^^
please don-¦t get me wrong I am anyways pretty exited for the fact it will be on PC =) but you can-¦t denie that since shooter-games added unlocks and such they completely dropped skill requriements and with this the genre got a ******-up-consolero-supermarket-genre ala-¦ callofbattlefield2167 and noone of us wants this to happen with the long awaited EVE PC Shooter ;D
by the way sorry for freaking grammar.... as you see I-¦m still in a learning progress with english language^^

I think you are generalizing with a bit too bold strokes in here. While I do not think the "unlocks" are good thing there are reasonably well done games in that regard including having a player skill to matter. Take, for example, Tribes: Acend. Here, sanity... niiiice sanity, come to daddy... okay, that's a good sanity... *THWONK!* GOT the bastard. |

The dust keynote never suggested it to be PlanetSide 2, quite the contrary actually. While PlanetSide is big, Legion will undoubtely be bigger when looking at the maps outside of the regular matchmaking. Yes, you will be able to do the same old arena shooting you've done in Dust 514 and other games, but you will ALSO be able to jump on different planets, in different security systems, where the maps will not be bound to a match. Here, you will be able to scavange, loot and walk around and maybe even meet a bunch of other guys in the process. These planets will also have NPCs (Rogue drones and alike). - Just imagine to gather your corpmates and after some matches, you decide to just go out hunting in another sort of style, in an open world.
"In addition to signing up for mercenary contracts, players will be able to scan the entire EVE universe for open sandbox salvage zones where resources have been found. These planets have no pre-defined missions, victory conditions, or teams; instead, they're free-for-all PvE zones with open-world PvP, and CCP hopes that this will promote the same kind of emergent gameplay as is seen in EVE. It won't be a true sandbox until you can stab someone in the back..." - http://massively.joystiq.com/2014/05/02/eve-fanfest-2014-project-legion-brings-dust-514-to-the-pc/
Edit: More on the topic, I think the dropsuit BPO system isn't a good idea. I've played Dust 514 since the closed beta and I frankly like how they had it, at least in the beginning - Some were BPO, some were not. Why make ALL dropsuits BPO?!
Doesn't make sense. Not lore-wise nor gameplay-wise. |

I hate the bpo suit suggestion and I know for sure that it'll take away the New Eden style of learning. One of the most defining things about this universe is everything has a value. |

Completely agree with the above. Everything should have a value, and it should hurt your wallet to lose expensive stuff. This adds excitement. |
