I'll tell you where you can find this, Black Monolith, for 1 million isk...
It is at Dead End, Planet 5 Moon 5. Worth taking an Iteron V down there for some pictures, kind of makes a good "Discovery" substitute. Visit the Eve Gate while you're down that way, in New Eden, plus plenty of crazy asteroids and carved stuff on the route there. Worth a days road trip for an Eve Holiday. :D

Anybody find any more?
I have indeed =). Nonni for example is an icelandic name. There are ALOT of systems named after icelandic words/names =)

How do you say "lag" in icelandic? Does it translates to "jita" by chance?

Nidhoggur is a being, maybe a dragon, and it eats from one of the three roots of Yggdrasill, the World Tree.
Ah yes, my bad.
Originally by: Wrangler It's also worth mentioning that Hel, Jormungandr and Fenrir were the Children of Loki, God of mischief and Angrboda, a giantess (female giant).
I actually thought about writing that too, but... Naaah... Wasn't important. Besides, we're talking Easter Eggs here, not mythology.

So, Odin was a caldari?
Considering that Caldari have that "nordic" look and he is a nordic god, then.... Maybe

Minmatar comes from the icelandic term "minni mßttar", which means underdog (or in the context of EVE, "lesser people"). Their ships and locale's often borrow Icelandic/old-norse terms, such as the resident black hole Ginnungagap, Naglfar, etc.
There are more, but I can't remember them right now. ----

Originally by: Mishima Ginnungagap = Big hole in Norse Mythology where south and north / cold and hot met, or sum.
Actually Ginnungagap was the empty void wherein the entire world now lies.
And there are indeed a loooooot of reference to Icelandic and Nordic mythology in this game, mostly on the minmatar side. A few more examples:
Mjolnir (EM torpedo) is the hammer of Thor, the god of thunder. Ragnarok (minmatar titan) is the final battle between good and evil. Doomsday if you like. Fenrir (minmatar freighter) is the Fenris Wolf. Really big wolf! Naglfar (minmatar dreadnought) is the ship in which the residents of "hell" travels to battle the gods on Ragnarok. Nidhoggur (minmatar carrier) is a giant snake that encircles the world, lives mostly in the sea. Hel (minmatar mothership) is Hell. And at the same time, the name of the leader of Hel. Sleipnir (minmatar command cruiser) is Odin's 8-legged horse. Odin is the highest of the gods. Huginn (minmatar Recon cruiser) and Muninn (minmatar HAC) are ravens that Odin uses to spy on the world and find out what goes on here and there.
This is just the ships section (and a torpedo, oddly enough the Amarr one), I know there are lots of other things, places, modules, that refer to this great mythology, but does it really matter what things are called? As long as they work, right?
It's a shame minmatar ships don't always live up to the myths behind them

Sleipnir is also Loki's "son", but not "son" of Angurboda.
Gjallarhorn and Ragnarok go hand-in-hand in eve and Norse mythology.

I'm surprised noone has mentioned Gjallerhorn yet - the Minmatar superweapon.
In Norse mythology the Gjallerhorn was sounded by Heimdall to herald the approach of Ragnarok.
Quite appropriate, really.

The word Einherji is also a composite of two words; Ein (alone) and herji (army)... so.. one man army.

It's because there are many forms to spell the words in old nordic ^^.
Like Odin can be spelled +=inn... Or Thor can be spelled Tor,¦=rr,¦unor,Donar(Lightning in German)... So it's all corect^^ an yay to my first post.

im just gonna copy/paste this from my other locked thread cos im lazy.
aside from the obvious ISK one, the only one i ever thought was an easter egg was the naming of "Pax Amarria". how it shares an obviously likeness to "Pax Imperia", which was a 2d space strategy game where you picked a handful of races, researched technology and tried to conquer the galaxy by populating all the planets and killing everyone else. it had a lot of things in common with eve, but i cant find my game disc so i cant stick it in and check.
im suprised given the demographic of this game, noone has pointed that out sooner. or am i just wrong?
also, if there are a lot of systems named after icelandic stuff in eve, what does "G.ayar" translate to? (forgive the . but the profanity filter will own its own system names :( )

"Pax Romana" was also the Roman Peace, enforced by the might of the Roman Legions in the early years Anno Domini in most of southern-middle europe, pushing out previous populations to the North or assimilating them into the Empire. Vikings were originally a germanic people who migrated up to Scandinavia (and from there to Iceland) to be away from the conquering Romans.
