Why the heck is a Pilgrim better at using drones than the Arazu? It doesn't make any sense to me. Is there some special reason for it?

because the celestis isnt a drone carrier and the arbitrator is?

The Ishkur is a drone carrier despite that the Incursis isn't.

could it be that the Arazu is based off the Celestis which is a Dampner platform and the Pilgrim is based off the Amarr Drone Cruiser?
I mean... with that logic you could ask why is the Arazu a better dampner platform than a Falcon?

Well, they should have made the Ishtar the force recon then. :)
The Arazu just seems like such a mediocre ship. And what are you talking about anyway? The blackbird doesn't even have a dampener bonus at all.

The Arazu isn't mediocre, it's the Pilgrim which is too good. The Arazu is a perfectly acceptable ship for what it is designed to do.

Well, nerfs kinda stink so I wish they'd add a little more drone bay and a drone bonus to the arazu instead. I wouldn't mind if they took the launcher.

I seem to remember Tuxford speaking about increased the scrambling range bonus of both Gallente recon ships, to put them more on par with the rest of the Recons.
And the Pilgrim isn't overpowered compared to the Falcon and rapier. The ways you use them are different, that's all...

I'm not sure about it as a recon ship or how it compares to the other ones but with a celestis, I can have any other cruiser webbed, nosed, and completely unable to target me. It may take a while but their tank will eventually go down the I can let my drones and guns have some fun.

i actually preferr to fly my arazu over my pilgrim weird as it seemes.
what ppl seem to forget is that the recon cruisers are ships designed to complement eachother and to fill certain roles within a group of players. they are not supposed to be solo pwn machines wich i think is very good because they shine together with a couple of other types of recons and HAC's

The pilgrim isn't too good.
Its fully optimized bonus for tracking disruptors only work on turret based ships. You can kill drones easy enough even with 50% more HP. It has a limited drone bay. NOS/Neuts have 0 effect on Minmatar damage dealing.
It isn't too good its just not broke.

Whats the point of a scramble range bonus if you have to be close to use drones? Just like some guy wanted blasters on his arazu/lachesis. No freakin point at all. I think the astarte is fine as is cept needs a lil better than 10% per lvl on the range bonus.

Like I said before, I can get any cruiser webbed, nosed, and completely unable to target me. I do hoever only get their range to about 8k if I don't use the best dampeners or if I only use 2. I could imagine the scramble bonus would be an absolute god send.

I would pick Arazu over Pilgrim anyday since it has dampners. The Pilgrim drones can be a ***** thought. _____

I think it's sad that the race NOT known for its exceptional drone skills get a cruiser that not only gets a drone bonus and drone bay like a vexor BUT it also gets a NOS bonus, people are scared of a nos domi and they should be but why should a cruiser class ship be able to be compared to a bs, the pilgrim is kinda like the domi in a sense and imo it can NOS better, due to nos shorter duration and the amount it takes, and of coursethe drone bonus's, the pilgrim and curse's drones bonus's should be nerfed, thats gallente area i dont see why someone else should have it, if thats the case then some gallente ships should be getting 5% per lvl to our armor resistances.

Is that one sentence? I think it is. Anyway, Let's talk about Arazu VS Pilgrim for a second.
Arazu has both a Warp Disruptor and Sensor Dampener bonus, which means any competent pilot could sit outside of his targets lock range and still keep him scrambled. Now, granted, I seriously doubt an Arazu could muster up enough firepower to bring down anything less than cruiser sized, you must admit that is a seriously powerful ability. It is the perfect ship in small gangs, and even fleet engagements. An Arazu can also work its magic from a decent range.
Pilgrim has Nos and Tracking Disruptor bonuses, which instantly discludes it from being useful against missles. Yes, with its Nos and Drones it can eventually whittle down any tank, but that would be true whether it had the bonus or not, it would just take longer. So this argument is moot. The Pilgrim is also much worse in small gangs and fleets than the Arazu because it is mostly beneficial to itself in combat and not other ships.
Oh, and as I recall, the Brutix and its Command Ship incarnations have a 7.5% bonus to armor repairer effectiveness. -----------------------------------------------

Originally by: Darling Hassasin There is absolutely no valid justification for the Arazu and Lachesis having less drone power than the Curse and Pilgrim and I say that as somebody who daily uses Curse and Pilgrim whithout having even trained for Arazu and Lachesis. Indeed in this category the NOS power is allredy a formidable weapon system compared to a couple of launchers so as to further compound the discrepancy.
darn alts Arguably my opinions represent to an extent the opinions of my alliance and in particular circumstances give rise to a valid "casus belli" claim. |

The point is that the pilgrim can nos the crap outta anything, whether your fighting a missle ship or turret boat it doesn't matter. if you have no cap YOUR DEAD. Plain and simple you cannot live on no cap, no cap = no tank. thats what i was trying to say,and not only do you get your NOS bonus, but a drone bonus and a tracking distruptor bonus, thats a pretty nasty combination.
Also how many people do you know that really use tracking distruptors on them, just fit ecm, at least thats what i always hear people doing?!
