Hehe, you're pretty funny. My turn to reply now.

Hahaha. You know this do you? That's funny. If you knew anything about me by my posts it would be that I think the latest move by Techell is shameful, greedy and downright embarassing.
Sorry if there's no search feature or if I don't stalk you in the forums. I should be ashamed of myself for reading what you are posting here and assuming that's your usual opinion.
Quote: The only thing I'm out to support are the player news reporters.
Great! So am I! In fact, a good friend of mine made the cut and is one of the correspondents. How cool is that? Plus, his article has recieved the most positive feedback from what I've seen in the Minmatarr channel.
Quote: Did you expect them to all to be Washington Post journalists?
See, this is where yuor post went bad. Of course not you twit! But from reading submissions that DIDN'T make it and comparing it to some of the submissions that DID make it makes me wonder. There were VERY good articles, written almost professionally, which didn't make the cut. So, uh, what was it you were saying to me? Don't comment on what you don't know about, read some of the submissions that didn't make it (They're available in these forums, go look for them).
Quote: maybe you should get down off your high stinky horse and stop *****ing because your corporation didn't get its own headline.
As I said, that's not my problem, but you seem to be convinced that it is. So there.
Your turn now

If it will have people quitting the game in a tantrum, yes.
For every player that (supposedly) leaves in a tantrum over someone reporting ingame news there are many more quitting every week because they are bored, because the actions they do go unnoticed and because the galaxy seems dull, clinically sterile and uninteresting. Comment on bias when there's been 10 or 20 articles, not one.
One thing I did like that about SCOPE was that there seemed to be some sort of unspoken 'right to reply' rule which doesn't appear to be there with the new journalists. Apart from that I'm really glad that what people do in game, for good or bad, is now going to be spread about a lot more.

Edited by: OverKill on 24/09/2003 13:45:10 Gentlemen (and ladies),
After having through about this a little bit last night and some more this mornign while drinking my coffee I've come up with "The Plan".
Look, whether CCP was right or gone mad with this idea its not really up to individual players to decide.
The best indicator (to CCP since we're not privvy to this info) is to look at the membership base over the next few days.
If they find themselves 500 members smaller than they were a few days ago then they know something is wrong and a good indicator that ideas need to be revamped.
If the member base is holding steady then it means that people who have a problem with the idea can't have that big of a problem.
I myself think the player posting info on their own corp stuff is utter crap and whoever the "editorial team" was needs to get glasses HOWEVER because I see this kind of self posturing going on in "official" news I can now ignore it safetly and just go on with the game itself forgetting the "story line" since for the most part it will be people with the whole "Look at me, I'm an editor" or "Hey, my Corp is having a sale on Space Carpet Cleaning, check us out".

Evemail from Concord: "Your respect for OverKill just went up to +10.0"
Glad to see some people can catch on the real problem.

This is a good point. Reporters advertising their own corp would indeed be unethical.
