Hello,
Some of you know me and many of you do not.
Recently there has been ALLOT of specualtion amd propoganda about myself and evegathering.com and the player guide and all the ISD stuff etc. etc..
First and foremost...
I owe an Apology to ISD and all it's staff. I had a bad day and I went off in the help channel on ISD staff....
I am a person who has a lower tolerance for certain things. Lack of compassion is one of those things. When rules are inforced there is no compassion and there cannot be.
To make a long story short this is what transpired...
About a month ago my mother was diagnosed with cancer, two weeks ago my brother was diagnosed with a possibly fatal kidney tumor. On top of that I own and operate a successful company that demands my full attention. What little free time I get (usually at my offices while working) I played EvE. I gave, what I could, to the community for what resouces I had.
Well to say the least i hit a boiling point and slammed it all onto ISD and thier rules. I broke those rules.
I posted a very rude and a highly knee jerk reaction ...for this I am truly sorry and ashamed.
For this I owe a formal apology to all ISD staff and CCP and the community overall.
I hope this ends any speculation and concerns over my personality. I hope this ends some of the hatred expressed to my team and staff all though it has been minimal and mostly trolls and people with issues they never address. We are extremely passionate about EVE and even more so about the community it fosters.
For all we do and all we have accomplised in EvE there is no words to express my actions and feelings over this matter. There is nothing I personally can say to help the trolls not feed on what we accomplish and bash what we do even though we do it out of pure love of the game EvE.
Myself, and evegathering.com staff, have for several years, just tried to be "compassionate and helpful" to this community. Our words were nothing and still are nothing as we are only a very small part the eve community. Our actions speak volumes though. This is all we ever wished to "accomplish". A little compassion in a not so compassionate system.
So there you have it...for what ever its worth. I payed my dues with more then anyone here will ever know or understand most likely.
Personally, I love EvE.
Am I staying in this wonderously ground breaking community and game? ...Yes. I have accounts back into 2003
Will we be able to keep going at our pace of evegathering.com and the annual las vegas gathering?...we hope so..and we have some kick ass plans we think. ...but I would not blame CCP if they turned there nose up at my actions.
Will we continue our IGB guide? Yes, but with limited additions in the next month or so but it will always be available to those whom need it.
In closing...
My sincerest apologies to all ISD staff. My sincerest apologies to CCP. Most of all my sincesest apologies to the eve community.
feel free to flame me... at least I was honest...
/me quietly bows his head in shame...for letting life beat him down recently...
So there you have it... This is all I will comment on this.
Next time you post.. stop and think, even if you hit a boiling point... you do not want to ever be in my shoes...

I have no real idea who you are and what you do, beyond the eve gathering
However from what I hear you are a valuable member of our comunity, and your appology seems genuine, for whatever it is you did
Just remeber Eve is made for us to enjoy and relax over :)

What I did was exercise very poor "conflict management skills" and flew off the handle for the wrong reasons... ...something i rarely do...but it happened and I can never take it back. All I can do is apologize and make sure it doesn't happen again. Nothing more.

I'm glad you're working to get this all resolved. 
Vegas '06 was loads of fun, and I really hope Vegas '07 comes about.

I can well understand where you were when the incident happened, in RL I am/was much the same, particularly towards a percieved injustice. I reckon we are all entitiled to the occasional heavy reaction, and given you RL circumstances I cannot blame you.
Takes alot of guts to apologise, especially towards 100 thousand people, so thank you. Glad to hear you are not going to quit. Moreover I am sure EVE is better with you here than not.

I'm glad to see that you've changed your mind about quitting Bob. It's a shame you're perma-banned from the Help channel tho. I was there when it happened, and I sent and email expressing concern to CPP and Kieron was good enough to reply to it personally, in a very professional manner. I do thank him for that.
Rules are rules but I am always willing to make exceptions and bend them, especially when I don't see anything wrong with contradicting a rule for my own purposes(of good intent), even when others would abuse the absense of a rule. CPP and the ISD staff must of course maintain a firm line on the rules however, there can't be too many shades of grey or people will cry out over the "unfairness".
Given that, the ISD really had no choice in this situation. We all have a bad day, and quite frankly Bob your recent incidents are absolutely horrific, and it would be nice to think that we could forgive what you did and move on, but if CCP did that it could hurt them in the future.
Still. I feel I must ask, to all the moderators and ISD staff, is there any way you might reconsider Bob's permanent ban from the Help channel, to perhaps an extremely lengthy ban instead? I know that to show Blackhole Bob any leniency is something you may not be willing to do, and for very good reasons that I do understand, but I feel I must try.
Bob, I wish you and your family well, and I am glad to see someone who is willing to belittle themselves and apologize when they've realized they've been rash, as I know it is not an easy thing to do. Perhaps I'll make the trip out and see you in Vegas in 2007...

I cant say for sure, but Bob is in Vegas, I dont imagine he made it to London. Asaik, there was only one US player that made that?

I lend all the support I can through the internet. I am sorry to hear about your personel life going down that way. I also feel, that maybe you should sit back and think about what needs to be done. Eve-online wont be going anywhere, so take some time and figure out what you need to do and where you need to be.
