Reading this story inspired me to play Eve. No, not to be that kind of player, but because the game was raw enough for it to happen at all.

was belt hunting, attacked a cruiser(i had a bleeder punisher at the time), warped off because cruiser got out of range and could have OMGWTFspanked me. I did a double take, thinking i could catch it off guard, warped back in and found his corp buddy had warped in with a gallente capital ship.
I warped out, told my corp mates what happened, and in response:
"shut off the computer, unplug it, set it on fire, and then burn your house down."
And then the covert ops came.......

Back in the day there was a main "highway" running around the empire with Yuali as its hub. Yulai was carebear central, 1.0 system and where CONCORD has its headquarters. Yulai was far and away the most populated system in EVE at any given time. Everyone ran through there on their way to wherever.
It so happened that NPCs were even dumber back then than they are now. So a corp (ZOMBIE I think) figured out that ships that provided shield boost and other aid to a ship were not flagged as hostile. They rolled into Yuali and started a massive gankfest. Sentry guns and CONCORD of course replied but with massive support from secondary ships they were able to tank it and lay waste to many people (I forget the final count but several hundred in a few hours).
I am not sure I would mark this as the most evil thing ever in EVE since the "bad guys" got banned for a week or so and those killed had all their stuff returned to them (or so I recall...been awhile). IIRC the banning happened because after CCP got wind of what was occurring they messaged them to stop and they didn't.
(BTW -- I hope this recap of EVE history is ok mentioning the banning and all...if not let me know and I will edit it out)

The most evil thing is simply the Zombie Massacre. Hundreds of pods in a few hours
It was so evil that CCP themselves got involved to try to stop it. When that did not work. people got banned for life.

When the very 1st Miner II blueprint got stolen by a corp thief, back when there were only a couple of tech2 BPs on the server, and miner IIs sold for 20 mil a pop. That was pure evil.

i once got a guy new guy in his first shiny apoc to try hull tanking it as he could rely on his shields and armour to protect him,.. i saw him floating back to the station in a pod,.. gave me a chuckle
