Bored at work and have been playing around with ECM recently so decided to put together an Excel spreadsheet to calculate Jamming probability.
Just placed it out on Eve Files ... it doesn't incorporate ECCM at this time but allows you to select the module skills etc. Linky below.
ECM Jamming Probability Calculator
Any feedback or spotting of "intentional" errors appreciated

Nice enough. As a suggestion for additional features. Compound jamming (e.g. allow me to say I have 3 multispecs, 4 racials, what's my jam chance) or 'multi target' jamming would also be useful. (e.g. I'm facing 4 condors in my rook, what's my odds of jamming them) -- We are recruiting |

Looks nice, would be perfect together with dreads and carriers in there too

Will look into that one ... may have to dig out my old slide rule

Easy Enough ... though I did some numbers on those and they don't look great

Not sure my technical skills go that high ... but i will have a chat with some of the technical guys here ... see what I can do ... and probably incorporate James suggestions at that time too

Nice. It may be worth hiding the formulae in the following cells to make it look a little tidier:
F11 F12 G5 G8 G14 G17 H5
To hide the formulae, click Edit->Go To->Special->then tick the "formulas" box Next, keep control held and highlight all the cells you want to protect. Then format cells and make them locked and hidden. Finally, protect the document

Cheers Jon,
Yes, I left it open so that people could see the calculations and therefore see if I had made any obvious errors. I will include Cap ships and then repackage it and lock it up.
I will also investigate getting it in something other than Excel and hosted somewhere.
Any other feedback let me know

I have updated the link with a new version of this.
Included Gang modules (think I have the calc's right)and cap ships except Titans
Need to get the stats on Faction Ships and include those
Still missing ECCM - Need to investigate this because of stacking Multiple Jammer and Multiple Target probabilities - need to check my math something other than Excel ... want to get a working prototype first
as before ... any comments/critic appreciated

I would really like it if you added all ships to Jamming Ship.
Its quite common for people to run one multispectral on their ship in pvp, since every cycle has about 30% chance to jam the enemy (depends on jammer of course).
Also, being able to input how many jammers you have equipped would be fantastic. Remember that they are sometimes not of the same type. There might be some racials and some multis and they might be of different types. How this affects the chance to jam the target would be nice to see.
Should keep you busy for a while.

All ships are there - Other is for non EW bonus jamming ships
Working on the multi jammers on one ship - the sheet now allows for 6 "targets" - these can be the same ship. Intend to put combinations in there as soon as i am sure of the math which will generate an overall probability of, for example, a jam against 1 ship with 3 jammers being applied.
Again the 6 target lines is really how many Jammers you are carrying. Maybe I should rename that and reposition them so Jammer is first.
Will update again once I have the combinations bit down pat.

Seems like a little overkill.
Windows calculator works pretty well for me.
Chance to jam per cycle = 1 - ((1 - Strength_of_jammer/Ship_Strength)^NumberofJammers)
Assuming all the same type of jammer. Fairly easily modified for different jammers.

Well I can't imagine too many people jumping into a fight and then diving for this thing.
I tend to use the sheets at the back as a quick reference. Particularly when I know what I will be up against.
Most benefit is in getting an understanding of what you are capable against. I am finding it an interesting exercise in it's own right. Thought I would throw it out there in case someone did find it useful.
