I predict the extinction of mercenaries as a phenomenon in eve within one year. Old skool pirating will flourish once again, and The East will be a big time alliance. --------------------

pirates = paid to not kill people mercs = paid to kill people
For that reason alone pirates < mercs. Thus mercs will be around longer then pirates

It's amazing what thngs will be said about various people that have no basis in reality, just pure imagination extrapolated from previous acts. Altho in this case what you have heard about gavin is probably mostly true; he's a ruthless bastard. Now all he needs is a sense of timing and some tact, and maybe a swift kick to the nads every so often to remind him he's still human, and he could prolly take over eve.
How's RKK going? Having fun? ----------------------

Hey OZ, you're right, I try not to always rely on what I have 'heard' about people, But I think that nad kicking is needed in this case, as Gavin is living up to his rep here.
RKK is awesome, thanks for asking, I have never had this much fun playing the game before. I hope you are happy where you are to OZ, I always looked up to you and I hope you are enjoying the game yourself in FTEK. Hope to speak to you again soonÖ.
Oh and nad smack Gavin plz lol.

If there's one thing I have learned it's that you can always find a decent gun for hire if you look long enough. The best thing about a lot of merc corps is they never show up on the forums, and while so much of empire politics never do show up on the forums, those are the pilots that will be soon replacing the gaps left by those who have left. But then again MC has big scary ships that make me drop to my knees and cry. __________________________________________

So how was the lag today? With it beeing another weekend day (and the inherent larger logged in totals), I hope they dedicated more resources or something. That city is well fortified which has a wall of men instead of brick. - Lycurgus |

The lag was still HORRIBLE even when we had a small gang of about 20 people, and i mean mods were taking minutes to activate. I think it's because that system has over 40 large POS and a whole lot of guns etc. Its not fun..

I've been in systems with 200+ people shooting at each other and experienced slight delays, but nothing like what I've seen in BWF. Even in small gangs, it gets boggged down.
It's not about hardware either. The lag appears to be pretty random. Several of us with monster PC's were crippled by the lag, whereas some of our US and Aussie players with 'normal' machines said they had minimal module delays.
The POS issue has been brought up as a consideration more than once. I don't know of another system in EVE with the number of fortifications Blue has online. There has also never been action on this scale in the area since Blue moved in so it's new for everyone.
I've been speaking with Big Blue on the side and we're going to both try to get some extra resources dedicated to the area. This is not going to be a quick or easy campaign and a war like this can be a lot of fun, but the last thing either side wants is for lag to determine the outcome. -

I was wondering about that yesterday, because the GMS know thet BOBs area, ASCN space, and the North are always getting huge fights. I wonder if they have allocated more power to those areas on a continual basis, and then planned on expanding to "quieter" areas as needed later on. If the POS is found to be the source of the lag, then CCP will need to figure out something before Kali and even more items/reasons to roll out more POS. Good luck with that Seleene. Previous weekend I warped my poor Mega to enemy L Pos (with gang etc) 7 times in c-j. Stayed there until structure all 7 times (3-6 mins each time?) and didnt actually get one (1) single gun to activate one any one of the targets even when I tried to ignore primaries (after the first 2-3 times).
I mention this cause c-j is not that far from BWF. If you plan to do POS attacks en mass rly do try to get extra recources allocated or you stand to lose Dreads (among other things) due to lag.

Couldn't agree more.
Probably some rich bastard who is competing with NAGA, and couldn't care less who else goes down in the resulting flames.
The irony is that this will hurt NAGA least of all, and the noobs of TBB most.
