Suffice to say, the spirit of the charter is that ISS do not initiate agression towards other alliances and corporations.
By attacking pilots in an ISS gang, whether unwittingly or not, means the attacker initiated the aggression, so the gloves are off for the relevant time - in this case clearing the system of hostiles.
A one-off incident like this is nothing more than that. As long as that is all it remains, there is no reason for ISS to change standings.
This is ridiculous. There is no way of telling who is in an ISS gang or not.
If people want to enjoy ISS standings then they should join the alliance, simple as that.
I've actively targetted neutrals since leaving ISS, and have made a point of NEVER targetting ISS. In fact, one of the reasons I left the Priory was because I could sense a standings reset on the way and did not want to engage ISS.
If pirates or NBSI organisations which have set ISS to blue cannot be offered the assurance that ISS will NOT engage them in return, even when they DO NOT engage ISS, then quite frankly everyone may as well start shooting ISS. Lets face it, it may as well be open season.
As many people have mentioned, myself and anyone else who shoots neutrals have no way of telling if someone is in an ISS gang or not. This whole discussion is bordering on the ridiculous.
Prax broke ISS rules of enagement, end of story. As I also operate in the same constellation, and have set ISS to blue, I rather feel that this is a waste of time if ISS will just engage me anyway.
Either ISS do not engage neutrals, or they do. If they do, I'll remove the blue standings and start shooting. Fair?

Edited by: Helganstandt on 11/06/2006 23:57:57 After a vote with our directors, we have decided to pull standings from ISS.
We are only setting you back to neutral standing. We will not be actively hunting ISS, we will just treat you like we treat everyone else on an NBSI status. So no more free passages through our bubble camps.
Thanks to everyone who replied to the thread and kept the good discussion going. I won't be responding anymore. ________________________________

Originally by: Helganstandt I guess the point I mainly wanted to get across is that they are shooting neutrals now. It just saddens me since we thought that with ISS we could ensure a mutual "we won't kill each other" pact or something, which is why we picked the space that we did.
I wouldn't be so irritated if it wasn't for the fact that ParCan basically made up facts so that they could justify it.
you tried to ransom someone they were in gang with. wtf did you expect them to do?
response of an asshat
my friend can u look at another player on screen and tell whether they are ganged or not?

Originally by: Gunsnroses Iss im very disapointed in you. Finis and hmmzor have let countless ISS pilots through our bubble camps, we do not fire on iss PERIOD. There is no way for anyone to tell who your in a gang with, and if we dont attack you, there is no threat to you. You broke your own rules, and since you cant deal with it, we will.
You have been set -10, and will be actively hunted.
Good day.

The exact same thing happend to me, same system even (btw, Ordat is nowher near ISS outposts, which are the only systems they claim to control) I was (also) killing a raven pilot, and when he screamed in local i announced my self as friendly to ISS and pointed out my history in ISSN Still PRAX killed me, and that raven very clearly wasnt in a gang with anyone.
Lake: i want my 1.8mil back from my cruiser loss ! ;p
seems that ISS doesnt actually care about charter breach when the corp is as big as PRAX, and the target corp is as small as mine. |

Its ISS that are stupid. Thier systems are as close as you can get to empire and still be in 0.0. Lots of newish characters running around thinking they are safe. ISS has pretty much no military at all and just pull the neutral card when a fight comes up.
In the last few weeks they have stated both that people are free to shoot other people in ISS systems if they have bad standings toward them ( even it they are blue to ISS) now they are stateing that they will hunt pirates in other peoples space even if they are blue to them.
ISS policy means that thier outposts are the same as an NPC station and eve has enough NPC stations already

Actually, it just proves you can't read.
If you read the thread instead of smacking the reply button with your forehead you would have understood the chain of events.
