Up til this point I haven't had a problem w/ pirates since they are just another form of EVE. However no I think some of you are scum w/ no integrity. I was ratting in a system when a Rex Rawhead from EVE Space Ninja jumped into the belt and ransomed me while I was in the middle of the fight. Since he was in a cerbeus and I was in a rupture i paid the ransom and then tried to leave. He continued to fire at me until he destroyed my ship, and then locked me and podded me. He claimed to have hit the keys to turn off his weapons too late, but I don't understand how that would have led to me getting podded. Just a heads up.

If you destroy someone after they have paid due to circumstances beyond their control, it is generally considered good form to refund the ransom. Ask him about it, see what he says

Asked him that. He said that he had already paid me...in experience. To which I answered that the only experience that I gained was not to trust little sh!ts like him.

Find out whos the CEO of his corp and contact them. From what I've read most pirate corps take action against members like him. |

I hear pulling crap like that is the easiest way to get your name blacklisted and have people refuse to pay you ransom, alltogether.

Stupid, stupid, stupid.
Once word gets around, nobody will accept his ransoms and he's lost income. He will be more KoS to other pirates (yeah, some pirates will leave other pirates alone... I guess...).
The person he screwed will now be more likely to join the 'ZOMG MY PRIDE I R NOT PAYING RANSOMZ' bandwagon, even though paying a ransom makes sense most of the time.
When people say we ransom and you shouldn't pay ransom cause we have no honor anyway... it's not about honor. It's about a living. Sure, we do it for fun, but ransoms can turn a nice profit too (nowhere near the profit of carebearing L4's or mining/production) and taking ransoms and blowing ships up/podding anyway will mean that source of income is going bye-bye real fast.

If they actually died, then yeah it'd be a real pirate attitude. ;) However, they don't, so they get to go tell everybody else about how you ransom + kill anyway.
Ransoms are a renewable income. If you screw it up like that, your ransoms won't be paid in the future.
Unless, of course, you don't ever really want any ransoms, and are just planning on killing everybody.. and maybe somebody who ain't heard about it will pay and then you pop them anyway.

I completely understand why you ransom a person. And if I happened to get ransomed again and it's a reasonable price, then I will pay. But if I see anybody from his POS corp, I'm calling in backup and gonna kick his ass. I would probably pirate too if not for my current corps no-pirating deal and that, quite frankly, I don't have the technological knowledge to do it well. Stupid skills take forever to train. But it's nice to get this kind of a response from other pirates who believe what he did was stupid and low.

Ive seen him around actually. Ill tell my peeps (not many though) to do whatever they can to kill this guy. Might not mean much, but its a start.
Also, i would recommend to visit Veto forum (if not already) http://veto.get-no.de . They have a ****list for people like this. Im not sure youre able to post in that section and if thats the case, mail Verone.

Edited by: Phelan Boots on 10/06/2006 00:04:41 These are the kind of asshats that ruin piracy for the rest of us.
I suggest that any pirate who ransom, mention it in your bio or corp description, aswell as a note on how to report bad ransoms to Verone or Ander.
