It might be a bit frustrating, but so is all of the ranting about wasted efforts on agents because of the changes to the distribution and requirements for receiving and completing an implant mission.
Agents are not just implant producers they are there to offer a lot more. The time and effort devoted to working for your agent should have more meaning to you than just a means to get one type of item. If you only started to do agent missions just to get an implant, then no offense, but it was quite a narrow minded venture. Open up to the bigger picture and the advantages to having a different and higher level agents to choose from should you need some extra cash or perhaps another type of special service or equipment in the future.

Today has been a fine example of why online games are so much fun for the people trying to please their players.
Make implant missions common; everyone who already has a L3 Agent complains because there are too many coming into the game and prices are plummeting. "You're screwing us over - we worked hard to get our agents and these shouldn't just be given out to everyone in such large numbers."
Change it and everyone who is working towards a L3 Agent complains because they missed their chance. "You're screwing us over - we are working hard and deserve to have something to work for."
Me, I came in just about half-and-half. Got a few implants before they were made so much more rare, but not as many as I could have if I had an Agent a week ago and been prepared.
Just an interesting example of how hard it is to please players - thought I would point it out if it wasn't already obvious to most.

Apart fom that, implants are going for insane rates atm. if you got 5, sell of four, and you should be able to buy some other implant

prepare for it to get worse - and pity those poor ppl with amarr agents who are getting the whoopti-do charisma implants.
Now I'd be ****ed if CCP had just nerfed my lv3 agent that badly (I have galente agents so at least I get int) - though how i'm supposed to persuade some nice caladi agent to talk to me i don't know

Not happy. I feel like i just wasted the last week working to get a level 3 agent. Ok make them rarer perhaps but at least let an agent give all types of implant. Gonna give up on obtaining implants now

It is damned obvious that agents of different factions are intended to do things differently from each other including giving out different rewards. Later there will most likely be also corporation specific rewards too. Doing things for your DED agent will most likely be rather different from your concord assembly agent. Its rediculous to pretend to be surprised when the people who invested in a Jove Genotech agent actually get some jove goodies! ____________________________________ Taggart wants YOU. Assuming they get the balance right and the frequency of drops of each implant type is the same then the value of each implant type will balance out a bit hopefully (with the exception of charisma); though I think they need to change the memory one by altering the mission to something common enough that people can't buy up the entire supply :-)
If all you get is a particular implant then you can always trade for the others cos people with agents in other races are going to have the same problem as you.

You guys are missign the point, give it a week, then memory, int charisma and others will be in the market in equal amounts, and the price difference will drop.
ALSO.
charisma is important, even if you happe to think it sucks.

Good change... hopefully Eve Universe will resolve back to normal now. Where carebears are carebears again, the griefers grief, pirates camp, miners read books or chat... oh and mine, and the hunter hunt.
And those already into Agent Missions before this implant craze are continueing...

Well implants will get rarer for another reason as well, with the new journal bug doing missions will be even more annoying to do..
But still its annoying that my faction now only drops a wp implant most likely, heck if it was wp and perc then i could live with it. That way you got something to trade with but wp only isnt good :(. Though it is better then the amarr char implant -------- -The only real drug problem is scoring real good drugs

Which journal bug are you referring to?

yup - should have a choice of 3 types from each faction - that way you would have trade potential with no glutting of the market in any one location

The journal won't open as soon as you talk to an agent - makes it impossible to see the mission requirements

Do you stack your journal with the agent talk window, or any other neocom window? If you then close it, the journal will not open again untill you re log. I just filed that report. ____________________________________ Taggart wants YOU. Join TTi! *waves his hand in your face in the jedi way* |

I am happy that the implants are factionally based. Makes the game more realistic and adds to the depth of agent missions. Yes, I can understand the frustration of working towards implants, only to be forced into specific venues for certain items, but content requires a specialization of the NPC influences in this game. I know I am losing an advantage from this patch but I applaude the effort to make agents and agent missions strategic and less general.

Edited by: Shevar on 26/09/2003 14:14:54 Zraknor check the known issues, if you open the char or journal screen and close it wont open again untill you log in again. Really annoying since i generally close it, ahwell just gotta learn to minimize it untill its fixed i guess.
Update, ok if you stack anything on it stops working, ahwell means i cant stack my mission reports anymore in my mission journal -------- -The only real drug problem is scoring real good drugs

So what, theyve been doing agent missions for months for piddly squat ISKs waiting exactly for a time like this when their investment would pay off. You jumped on the bandwagon late, what did you expect. ____________________________________ Taggart wants YOU. Join TTi! *waves his hand in your face in the jedi way* |

the effort to differentiate is apreciated .. I feel sorry however for those with amarr agents who mostly feel like they were just dumped on from a great height :/ and can only congratulate the caldari who just got handed a goldmine (at least for the time being till the prices drop) . ----- Apologys for any rambling that may have just occurred.
