My archon got into the sad situation being attacked by 3 enemy dreadnoughts.
Managed to tank all 3 in siege long enough till all their tackelrs were killed. Warped out at 20% armor.
Try that in a thanatos. ;)
The thanatos does most dmg and if wisely used at POS it's the best of the bunch.
If you ever come into a situation where a tank is needed the archona nd the chimera will do great though. The sorry excuse of a carrier from the minnies only got good looks i fear.

I have heard of an archon tanking ~30BS. Ofcourse it was shield + armor tanked with a few dominixes transfering extra cap and shields/armor with a heap of support drones assigned to it.

I can tank 30bs in my apoc to granted enough bs are sending me shields/armor ect ect
It can't tank anywhere near 30bs alone.
It has 20% more resist then a Thanatos, basically an EAN or 1 lowslot. It tanks a bit better while doing much much less damage.

The Gallente carrier is the best for the way carriers are currently used.. ie. sitting at a safespot. When and if carriers are boosted enough to make them fleetworthy it won't be the best anymore.

Such a capital mistake by CCP :( They should've just made them drones allright. Now if you give the fighter bonus to caldari the Gallente will whine 'cause you took away *their* speciality (non-rp-speaking) and atm the Caldari whine cause they think it should be *their* special ability (rp-speaking)... It's just ****** up :(

Is there a reason to use typhoon over raven (when they change bonus on phoon)?
Yeah i tought so. Now you picked race, stick there or change it. I was in situation where i could use armor resists better than dps from fighters.
@ meridious, those 20% is not really another eanm II as they aren't factored in stacking penalty.
But then again, there is no point in using carrier at all if sitting at pos is all fun you have.

Only when i get 6 missile launchers on dominix with 5% missile rof instead hybrid dmg, after ares gets 3. missile slot and 10% to th. missile bonus and when blasterthron will acually outdamage raven by some relevant damage(yes they are pretty close when raven has rage torps).

bah had a post written already about this but got an error. Anyway the description is wrong it is actually getting a 5% bonus per level not 10%. Had a talk with TomB and he said it was supposed to get 5%. Of course there is no effective way for you to see that so you'll just have to take my word for it, although displaying drone attributes is getting fixed as well.

if you paid atention to the caldari you would relise that they abandoned their fighters along time ago.
gallente however embrassed drones from that war to the present day and that is why they would naturaly have better moder day fighters than their missile spamming counterparts.

But still, 5% to damage is still >>> everything else, especially capital transfer modules
