I'm curious, I have quite a few alts with lots of RP's, my highest being just over 100k RP's....
...how many RP's did it cost for your Tech 2 BPO?

About 25k for my first, and only, in Electronic Engineering.
Are your RPs all in fields like starship engineering? If so then don't hold your breath. All of the starship engineering fields give out far less BPOs and have far more competition for them so you chances of getting anything are much, MUCH, MUCH lower for these ultra-popular fields.
I'd suggest training up some research skills other than starship engineering ones and starting a few research projects on them.
Of course if my assumption here is wrong and you are already researching non-starship fields then, well, that's the nature of the lottery I'm afraid. Random means just that. I was lucky to get a BPO (a rubbish one I add, just an ammo one) with only 25k RP's.

I personally think the T2 bpo lotery should be changed from being based on total rp to being based on rp earned that month/period of time. Otherwise all newer players will be at a severe disadvantage as times goes on and the rp gap between vet and n00b increases, tilting the scales in the vets favour (btw i consider myself neither vet or n00b).

but doesn't give a disadvantage in the next lottery for those who have won previously. When you win, you get reset to zero, giving those who haven't yet won the advantage.

While I admit I think the current t2 bpo lottery system is stupid, hippo is correct on this point.

1 BPO at around 30k RP (a missile BPO for my other account, which is my industry/hauler account). The other R&D agents for this account have from 10K to 100K RP, and so far haven't yielded anything.

I hate you.
Something like 130k in starships, 60k in other stuff so far. Result: nada.
Sigh.

From 1500 to 45000, but since I havent gotten any for a while the next will in all probability be alot higher RP wise.
As for how many RP's is alot... Any fairly old R&D player will have multiple R&D projects running that have over 100k RP's, atleast if they are trying to get ship BPO's.
However as the BPO lottery is a lottery there is nothing that states when you should get a BPO roughly, I have been lucky to gain multiple BPO's while others that have been more dedicated to me for as long as me or longer have recieved nothing. In the end like with all games of chance its down to dumb luck.

6800. I now have 28k in that field again w/ nothing, another 60k + in electronic engineering w/ nothing, and 142k in starship with nothing.
You can hit at any RP from any level agent, it really is what it says it is (though it does seem if you get one your odds seem to improve for getting more than one).

When I see what people here are researching for, I get an idea why many thinks the lottery are stupid. If you spread your research for just one thing, and it's all for ships, then you get dissapointed. I have one at gallente starship engineering, 154k RP. Haven't got anything from that. But I've gotten something from each of my other agents, and two from a level 2)

Do you keep doing missions for your research agents every day or just let the RP accumulate and wait for an offer? __________________________________________________ 2006.01.24 06:13:19 Your Tachyon Beam Laser II perfectly strikes Amarr Control Tower [TSBS]<TSDS>, wrecking for 1528.7 damage. |
