What drones will be better for protecting your covetor in 0.1 against sansha rats?
I can now use T2 Drones, but the covetor has only 50m3 dronebay. Now I`m flying dual retrievers with T1 Acolytes. 10 acolyte I is better then 2 acolyte and 4 infiltrator it seems. This is the current tactic: I get the rats to lock the barge, i align to my safespot, launch drones and concentrate fire. I can kill most spawnt this way.
Pretty soon one of my chars can fly a covetor, I will try and defend this one alone with drones. I`ve thought of two ways to do this:
#1 Get NPC to lock me, launch 5 T2 medium drones, and tank them till they are dead.
#2 Launch 2 Sentries with EM damage and have the NPC lock drones / me and just scoop them if they take a rough beating.
The main issue here, is that a retriever can only tank 1 BC / 2 Cruisers, if i get bigger spawns, I need to kill them fast enough.
Will 2 sentries outdamage 5 medium T2s?

You've not posted your drone skills so i'm going to guess.
Drones V
Drones Interfacing IV
Combat Drone Operation IV
Sentry Drone Operation IV
Amarr Drone Spec II
Base Damage of an Infiltrator II is x1.38, with a 104% damage bonus from skills thats x2.8152. 12 Base damage with a 2 second RoF thats 16.8 dps. You have 5 drones so 84.45 dps.
Lets check a couple of Curator I's. x1.3 base damage mod + your 100% damage bonus is x2.6 with 50 base damage and 4 seconds RoF is 32.5 dps. But only 2 drones so 65 dps total.
Your 5 Medium win, they will also track better so in general a better bet.
Interestingly lets look at Hammerhead II's. They have a base Damage mod of x1.92, so with comparable skills thats 23.5 dps per drone, 117.5dps for all 5.
Your fighting Sanshas whos weakest resists are EM then Thermal so obviously you should use EM, right? Maybe not. Take a Sansha Spectre it has 30% EM resists and 40% Thermal resists. With that Damage reduction your 5 Infiltrator II's will do about 60dps but your 5 Hammerhead II's will do 70dps. So Hammerhead II's are your best bet for killing Sansha Rats.
