One of the big lvl4 missions was nerfed in the update, Infiltrated outposts now drops squat all for alloys. Huzzah!
So expect prices to go up quite a bit in empire since it was a big source of it. |

A small nerf would have been alright, but they totally overnerfed this one. 1 to 2 alloys per drone now? drone controllers dropping 1 alloy of each type. That's overkill. _______________

Does sound a bit extreme, considering there is no other income on the mission like bounties or anyhting (apart from the reward of course, but that is not much compared to some mission bounties you can get)

They've introduced bounties ot the drones but it's nowhere near what you'd get on regularly running the mission. _______________

So in other words, it might actually be worth it to run minerals from 0.0 to empire now? --- Our greatest glory is not in never failing, but in rising up every time we fail. - Emerson |

Which is probably why it needed changing.
On the other hand, they have done something which means more liquid ISK, and less actual items, are coming into the game. Kinda the opposite of what we need, which is ISK sinks. Maybe they think this one's worth having. ________________________________________________

the horror! I shifted about 80k zyd and 60k mega yesterday, the market isnt going anywhere O.o
I also think the answer is hidden in how much zyd/mega ratio in building stuff, mega isnt supposed to have a price so close to zyd in my opinion.
Honestly I dont think a change on that missions drops will change the prices almost at all. Considering the volume traded in Tash-Murkon region alone unless you guys are making half a mil zyd a day from that stuff... I used to run that mission, it was a good bit of zyd, but i liked it more for the morphite drops (only empire source of morphite 4tw)

it means alot of so called empire carebears are going to have alot less money to buy the uber mods imported to empire space from 0.0 aswell

Dont want this one heading into carebear nerf thread but surely if they are changing a mission that drastically they can at least tell us???
As it is not mentioned at ALL in any of the patch notes.

And your opinion appears to make sense - at least to me.
But removing a large source of zydrine from this mission, will RAISE the zydrine price. It'll soon cost more than the megacyte does, which is even sillier.
Ofc. if you're right that it's not that big a zydrine source, it won't make much difference either way and this line of argument is moot. ________________________________________________

Ummmm hehehehe it's not a big source of it...obviously you haven't seen the ammounts of zydrine you can mine out of some 0.0 regions. I know lot's of people who can make close to 500 Mil off of one mining op in 0.0 mining crokite.
I highly doubt the prices will go up enough to make a difference and if it does...well..aren't I the lucky one

and if its true i want 300m ISK x the number of months this mission has been available since i have only been able to take advantage of it for the last couple of months wheras vets could have been making this much for maybe a couple of years.
i reckon spamming this 3 x a month is easy 300,000,000 x 12 = 3,600,000,000 x 2 = 7,200,000,000
i was planning on making 3.6bn this year from that mission, and i was wondering if you can find any other ways to make it tougher for me to get by as a newer player?
Your starting to take the **** tbh.

Price of zyd won't be increasing. The 'mining foreman links' have been tweaked, so now they get cycle time reduction. That means 0.0 miners, with gang assists suddenly got more productive. (1.25x productivity with foreman V and director IV) -- We are recruiting |

Quote: Are those alloy drops just for dones in that mission or do they apply to complex drones too?
Yes they have nerfed the Outgrowth Drone Hive complexes as well. They made them harder to run by making the drones almost tiwce as fast and there are no minerals to be had. This has hit our corperation quite hard as we depended on those minerals for ship building. It has made running the hive as pointless as to run any of the other complexes in the game. Too much effort for too little reward. Before it was well balanced in that if you needed minerals you could run the drone complexes or if you just wanted bounties you could run the NPC rat hives. Now they are just the same.
I suppose some people complained about not getting bounties on drones but had never even tried the countless other complexes or were not aware of thier exsitance. So it will not only be zydrine that increases in price, all the ships you buy and many other items will also be going up in price. And since megacyte can now only be found in 0.0 (Before the nerf megacyte could be gotten in the drone hive as well) empire space will suffer greatly leaving the large alliances that control the areas of 0.0 that have megacyte, with a total monopoly. Yes there is some megacyte on the market currently...however when it runs out...and it will... then no more ships in empire.
I wonder if CCP had this in mind when they made this new patch.

If you are going to change alloy refine value (rather than amount dropped or some other quantity) announce it first so thse of us with an enormous pile of alloys in station containers awaiting better skills (does scrapmetal even apply?) don't get badly screwed, unless you are willing to retroactively gift us with the new drops and bounties of course.

This might be a very smart move. If zydrine prices go up then it will be worth it to mine zyd in 0.0 and take it to empire. Thus making 0.0 more populated. As it stands right now 0.0 is ridiculous. So many unpopulated systems. =============================================== Don't say to me over a forum what you wouldn't say to my face. |

zyd drops from jaspet - guys 500 units of jaspet yields 7 units of zyd (might encourage more low sec mining to offset these drone losses) still a good move smartbombs still contain a lot of zyd. zThose drop from NPCs

Which still pales a bit compared to the 3k+ zyd this mission used to provide in such a short time.
I'm not sure if it will cause anything more than a short-term spike in empire prices, but I do feel that this is kind of a small kick in the head for casual / small corp players. I myself only get a few hours of playtime a week, and came to love this mission as it allowed me to at least dabble in profitable ship production during that short time.
On the plus side, as some have mentioned, I guess it will force me and my tiny corp out of empire a bit more often, and people keep telling me thatÆs æwhere itÆs atÆ. On the negative side, weÆll be a bit displaced, as many of us donÆt have the RL time to commit ourselves to a large 0.0 corp/alliance/effort at this point in time (which is why weÆre a tiny empire corp), and solo/duo 0.0 mining doesnÆt seem too realistic.
So much for Kahli providing more opportunities for solo/small corp players, eh CCP? Ah well, no sense whining about a single mission. Brace yourself 0.0 residents, because the carebears are coming to steal your ores, and we aren't feeling so fuzzy anymore

Did you play eve before rouge drones were introduced?
If anything, this is a much needed balance in risk vs reward, because if you want zydrine whoring missions in 1.0 space won't help you anymore.

Unless I'm missing something, you could run an AE or GE lvl 4 and make enough in bounties to buy the zyd you get from the drone missions, and in a GE/Ae, you dont have to loot all the damn cans to get the mins/money.

Edited by: Miss Overlord on 21/06/2006 03:51:47 i can see a lot more trading of zyd at the low sec level (more reselling hauling opportunitiy) for those that are smart enough - youre other missions will continue to drop zyd ie smartboms and remote shield transfer modules
CCPs data must have been showing a spike in the supply side of zyd and that is the source in empire so they balanced things out again.
