Wouldn't be one bit surprised if the CRC mods ended up being mostly pirates ingame .

I thought everybody who work for CCP was a pirate ingame and/or BoB. Hence the favoritism.

But hey, when you enter the system they will shout in their intel channels "oh **** Shamis Orzoz!! Save your own butt!". Now lets take look at this scenario
*Kilo Paskaa enters the system. Intel channels fill with spam "oh that noob again, get a frigate or two to bust that junkie".

Quote: WTF is with gatecampers?
I've seen a lot of replies to this question, and of course, they're all BS.
Gate-campers are looking for EASY KILLS, and that's it.

There is always gonna be fake pvpers blowing up unsuspecting people at gates. When you get further into the game you'll come back and kill them.

I think ppl gatecamp because finding targets in belts is becoming really hard. I have spent the last few evenings wandering around Placid, and surrounds, trying to find a target. Apart from becoming fast with the scanner, I've had no joy
I want to try gatecamping now, at least I'd get to blow stuff up

Well to be honest, those are not pirates.. they are gankers and they do it for the killboard, any other reasons they give is crap.
Pirates hunt you down, and usually ransom you (not always).
Have been living in low sec for quite some time and to be honest, get yourself bookmarks around to where you want to travel to, know wich gates that are frequently camped or systems pirates rage in... If you have bookmarks they usually can't gatecamp you (2 battleships atleast) and gank your battlecruiser...
Also remember, a safespot is not safe in low sec.. many pirates know well how to bust your safespot as well as deadspace missionpockets.

Well I pirate Belt hunt (ransom), Gate tank and snipe. Why do we do it because after a boring life in 0.0 killing random people makes me a happy and TBH is the only thing that keeps me playing this game. To pay for my crystals i have to destroy everything i can.
Take for an example the Rookie in a shuttle with a 45 mill implant in the hold! Hence the kill all scenario.
And its not safe at all even sniping the Merc Coalition have recently removed some of our ships (with some good tactics/ Dampening and rapid killing recon ships etc) which i respect.
Use instas and dont whine when your slow ass ferox/ etc gets roasted on the way to the gate.

Personally as a pirate i think im doing the world of eve a great favour by randomly blowing people up. This is because of a few reasons, but the main 1- Economics
This is because if Pirates didnt blow ppl up then no one would need to buy a new ship, and then the person/corp who builds ships wouldnt get any cash, and the person/corp who mines the minerals wouldnt get any cash for the job they do!
Its the circle of life! Without pirate, ship prices would be stupidly low, as no one would need a new 1 :P
Well thats one reason i pirate, the other is... well... simplely... because i can!

I believe these "gatecampers" are performing an extremely important function in eve. It's not really anything to do with economics imo, there probably isn't enough of it around to have that effect.
The fundamental function they perform is they create a tangeable difference between empire and low sec. If they did not exist, then the difference between the two would be negligeable and no one would even care what space they flew in.
I think this split is important to eve mechanics. You have three tiers of space from relatively secure, through pretty insecure to complete free-for-all. A good balance I'd say.

death threats... and not to my avatar but me.
It is funny seeing how fast someone takes it from nothing more then a game to tell me to **** my mom and **** on my dad, your only 12!!1! LOLZ!1!, you got no life, ect, ect.
But some victims wish to learn more about eve and pirating after they cross me.
Today I made about 60 or so million. Could have been more if that BPO would have came thur...
also, shuttles are great things to kill. BPOs and BPCs along with skill books fit so nicly in one. --- Murder Murder, yes indeed, K-I-L-L-I-N-G

Do you mean epen or epencephalon. The segment of the brain next behind the midbrain, including the cerebellum and pons; the hindbrain. Sometimes abbreviated to epen.

The main reason for me, to gate camp, is indeed making some ISK. There is no better way of income, if you decided to walk the pure piracy path, no NPCing, no missions as income. And besides the good loot (the best loot usually gets destroyed, me remembers a freighter skill book in a condor ...), there are a lot of other funny things, you can experience:
- Funny chats and mails, like the one, who was ****ed of, because i shot him on an AFK travel and his three corp mates asking me, to kill him again because of the nice show he made in his corps chat ... - Sometimes the people, that have the balls to stand up and try to fight, so it is a pleasure of thinking about traps, decoys, counter traps... - Oh, and yes, the sound of a popping pod is awesome...

One of these days CCP are going to stealth boost senties to the point where a Dread can't tank them for more than a few seconds, and where they outrange Any sniper in the game. The gate campers will cry louder than anyone that's ever been ganked. CCP will laugh heartily, and a week later change it back.
Once the gankers realize that it's safe again and go back to their dastardly ways, CCP will reintroduce the changes. This will go on for ever. They will do this 1)Because they can. 2)Because it's fun. 3)Return to 1).

I got podded in .4 the other day right at the gate by a player in a carrier. He hit me with 3-4 Proton torpedos (I think) and if was over. I have nothing to steal, my ship is a little vexor, when I asked him why he did it he said "because I could". So theres your answer.
Checking his info I saw he had a paltry 15 mil bounty on his head. I sent him a mail letting him know how low that bounty was and how lame he must be. His response was "F---you!" hehe, revenge is sweet!

Alliances do it to cover entrances to their territory, pirates do it because the targets cant fight back usually. Pirates run when they hit a target that can, Alliances usually have a dozen or more covering the gate, their target dies. When I camp, I fit in the alliance side of things, never the pirate. If only ISS could secure their own damned space I wouldnt have to worry bout even camping as the alliance as much. Its kinda boring, you get your typical pirates who send in their alts, you blow them up, pirate never comes, 5 hours later you go home and the next shift takes over... Id rather rat or mine really as thats atleast more entertaining most the time

some ppl aparently like sitting by a gate shooting at everything that moves knowing that they are completely safe and cant get killed (because they are aligned and ready to warp out should anyone get to close)
IMO gate campers are the lowest of low in eve but they are unfortunatlly part of life in eve as for why they do it its anyone's guess
Apparently you've never sentry tanked while gate ganking, hehe.
