Are we talking about the same ship or did i miss something. Last time i looked i thought that i saw a Vulture Logistic Command Ship...
If you ppl wanna run a gank or tank ship then why not fly a Gankageddon or a Tankabaddon. I find it a pitty how some ppl make suggestions using setups with not even 1 Warfare link let alone all 3.
Furthermore i dont understand why some ppl have a sniping fitting and then waste some slots on resists. Ive flown alot of sniping fleet battles in 0.0 and would never have bothered equipping a resist mod, at >150km you dont need to bother about the extra resist. If push comes to shove then warp to a safespot. As long as your in system, the gang will still profit from your warfare bonus's.
If you wanna fight up close then i suggest getting a pimped up Sacrilege or something in that range. I dont know how happy your gang will be if you go pop, and believe me you WILL be primary.
But then ive heard of ppl mining in carriers so nothing should surprise me anymore ******************************

So.......if people want to fly a ship close range, they HAVE to fly a sacriledge or gankgeddon?
I spent a good few months training for this ship, and i use it how i please. I have high skills in rails, and blasters, and next to none in other weapons. So i think ill use it how i want thankya
<EDIT> Also, theres no point fitting gang mods if you arent in a gang. Might as well use them for something useful

Edited by: KenshinHimura on 21/06/2007 23:57:59 I've looked through everyones settups with gang modules, even the one person who fitted the entire (i think) high rack with gang modules, and not one person fitted any Command Processors.
I'm assuming the guy that said to fill the high rack with gang modules is an idiot. But still, the people who put 3 gang modules on still did not put any command processors on either.
So when the vulture's description says "Can use 3 Warfare Link modules simultaneously.", thats without any Command Processors? meaning that with Command Processors you can get more than 3 gang modules?
I was under the impression that BattleCruisers, tech I or II, can automaticly use 1 gang module, but the special tech II versions were allowed to use up to 3. 1 from the automatic BC bonus, and then two more, one with each Command Processor you use. This was just my impression from reading the text, Especially after reading the Command Processor's info, "...thus allowing him to utilize multiple such systems." and the "Allows operation of one extra Warfare Link.".
From the first part it explains it as if, in order to use multiple such systems (ie. more than one), you need Command Processor's. And so from the second part, i figured the Command Processors were how to operate one extra gang module.
Am i right or do the specialized command ships get to use 3 gang mods with out Command Processors? That would mean in order to use 7 gang mods on the Vulture you would need 4 Command Processors.
Also, the Command Processors dont say anything about which ships can use them, so could i put Command Processors on my Carrier so that it could fill its high rack with gang mods while still dishing out 10 fighters?
Just trying to save some training time if i dont need to train for the command processors. Ill be in my Vulture in 2ish days

Edited by: Emerald666 on 22/06/2007 01:56:27 Yes... "Fleet Command Ships" Can use 3 Warfare Links simultaneously w/o the need for a single Command Processor. Hence all the setups with 3 Warfare Links and a decent tank. ;)

HI Seen alot of set ups now but the 1 that looks good is the sniper set up:
5x T2 250mm Rails 1x T2 Med Nos 1x Salvager/T2 Rocket launcher
Mids 2x T2 Large Sheild Extenders 2x T2 Sensor Boosters 2x T2 Tracking boosters
Lows 2x T2 Tracking Enhancers 2x T2 Mag Stabs
12k+ Sheilds 238km Range
Could rigs be fitted to this set up and if so what sort ?
i would drop the nos being at 238k and try fit a gang mod or standard launchers to help fend off frigs

You can, but it's not a must. I'd fit one shield and one armor resistance thingie.
Then make the pilot wing leader of the sniper bs wing. They will surely appreciate some more resists.
I pew therefore I am.

I'm looking at this, it's more for staying alive to assist gangs than for dealing damage or anything:
High: 3x Gang assist modules, 4x T2 200mm rails Mids: 1x Pith X-Type Large Shield Booster, 1x Pith X-Type Shield Boost Amplifier, 2x Dread Gurista Invulnerability Field, 1x Pith X-Type Photon Scattering Field Lows: 4x T2 Capacitor Flux Coil Rigs: 2x T2 CCC rigs
Bit on the pricy end, but it tanks minimum 1230 dps and the lowest resist is 85.1%, and it can run everything forever.

my vulture i went for the following
HIGHS - 5 x Heavy missile II's, 1 x Medium Nos II, 1 x gang mod of your choice
MEDS - 1 x Mag (passive) II, 5x Large extender IIs
LOWS - 4 Sheild Power Relay IIs
RIGS - 1 T2 extender and 1 EMP II
now i use this set up as a lvl 5 tanker ( since it is completely passive ) now the stats
btw implants - 1 5% shield hp, 1 5% recharge and siege warefare mindlink ( 15% hp )
this puts the shields hp past 30,000 puts all resists to 70+ and has a recharge time of under 280 seconds but do not think this is a pwning ship it purely tanks for dps it sucks but u cant argue at 0.4 m/s and managing to get to a gate out of low sec from 5km away :)
i hope you like the set up and if u have any questions etc feel free to convo me ( Matabar Anasazie ) ingame

I use the vulture as a passive tanks Mining Director and the best setup I have found is:
Hi slots: Mining Foreman Link - Harvester Capacitor Efficiency Mining Foreman Link - Laser Optimization Mining Foreman Link - Mining Laser Field Enhancement Small Remote Armor Repair System I Small Remote Armor Repair System I Small Tractor Beam I Salvager I
Mids: Photon Scattering Field II Photon Scattering Field II Heat Dissipation Field II Ballistic Deflection Field II Explosion Dampening Field II Medium Shield Booster II
Lows: Capacitor Power Relay II Capacitor Power Relay II Capacitor Power Relay II Damage Control II
Rigs: Capacitor Control Circuit I Capacitor Control Circuit I
With my skills and no special implants I can run the tank forever, obviously this is not designed for PVP but will work very well for PVE. For PVP switch the active mid hardeners for passive ones, keep the booster as a backup but switch it for a large probably and switch out lows for either PDS II's or shield power relays.
Also in PvP of course the his would be something more useful such as mindlinks that would help the squad your in charge of as well, and the probably assaults or close range rails for handling fast ships that get close to you as your primary purpose is not really a damage dealer.

Hi everyone:)
By reading this forum about how to fit Vulture I've got a little bit confused. I recon that primary setup depens of circumstances. A lot of different options and probably every one is good for different partys :) I am not experienced Vulture pilot but I wish find out set up tu use Vulture as a Base for mining operation by useing Mining foreman Link.Of course I'd like fit Vulture kinda universal stuff if its possible. I know this my sounds silly but...does anyone of yous can give me a tip how to fit vulture to be a quite good tank and pvp also just in a case of selfdefence because I usualy mine in 0.0 space. I would really apreciate this.
Kind Regards

You could always edit your post, to save spam :P
However, tis rather simple and doesnt require any major changes. Use a hp based setup, with mining foreman gang mods.
2 invulns, 1 photon, 3 LSE II, 3 PDU II, 1 damage control II, and 200mmII rails in highs. rigs = expanders. Drones = warrior IIs. Will dish out crap dps, but give good bonuses, and an infailable tank vs single targets near enough. |
