I just wish our Alliance had time to be made before this. We have a very good squad of PVP pilots. O well. Next time.

everyone seams to be whining about Isk but tbh the last torny threw up some great fights and people you wouldnt expect to win did, remember MC v AM was an exclent fight and AM won and their not a huge PVP alance with Billions of Isk to throw around at a whim, the same could be said for KAOS who fought bob in the final, so youll just have to see wht this year throws up

And they still allow having billions worth of implants which makes the whole thing about isk only. Any decent alliance can pick up a few hundred million to fit five good T2 ships, but only the big 4 can afford fitting every pilot with a full Slave/Snake set and since podding isn't allowed they aren't even at any risk
LOL, you think the "rules" will stop podding? "Oh, sorry, you were in the way of my smartbomb".
And, of all the people in this game - you're saying that only the big for ALLIANCES can afford to put 12b of implants in to their pilots heads? If that IS the case (I know pilots, not in BoB, that could throw that money at implants and not even blink) then they don't deserve to win it anyway.
Time for people to put their money where their mouth is.
Diana the gms (i think) said that anybody podding will instantly have their team disqualified, and the person podded will have all their implants restored, clone restored and be reinstated to the tournament. They are pretty serious about the "no podding" rule it seems

the team with the best comandship bs and cruiser combo.
my bets are on a navymega + damnation and deimos, with slave implants and repair drone spammage.
or a navyraven + caladri damnation equive + eagle)like bob from final last tourny) all with imps and what drones they can have.

That's a bit daft tbh (I hadn't read they were that intent on it tbh, been away all week) as they've effectively made it raven > * cuz you have bugger all chance of killing much of its damage output now.
ah well.

Not really easy, a hassle for all involved, devs having to scan each pod for implants, contestants having to use jump clones and buy replacement hardwirings..
Besides, as has been said frequently, this is an Alliance tournament, not The Hobo Bumfights Tournament.
A lot of people prefer disposable pvp and think it makes them more skilled, doesn't mean they're right. Not confident enough in their skill to use expensive stuff, or die too frequently to be able to afford it?

I thOught that it would be easy with GM abilities to scan pod for implants and ship for faction stuff

I think both IAC and KAOS will be up there, as well as the more recognized BoB and MC (which I'm sure will want to rectify last time's early loss).
Victors aside, I'm keenly interested to see how ISS and GoonSwarm fare. I think they might surprise some. ------------------------------------------- "Never underestimate the power of language."

BoB. And I hate having to give that answer. BoB has lots of skilled, high sp players who are used to working well together. Also the alliance is filthy rich and can afford to outfit a team with the best ships and mods. Makes me wish that the winner of the last tourney be disallowed.

ive made my mind up about this tourney and so ive made some tests with corp mates, but in the end its all about the implants.
Just imange a cnr a caldari command ship, a eagle and a hawk, and a whatever, all with full implant set. Those guys fight against the same types of ships and then they will win. So if u can afford the implants for ur pilots this is a "i pwn button"
IMO it would have been funnier if it would be more about the skill, imange u get to polaris and there u can buy the whole set for a few isk, so that everyone has the some chance to win the fight and it wouldnt count how many complexes u have raided or how many npcs u have done.
And yes, if u pod someone u r disqualified - which is understandable if u have about tons of isk in ur head.
about the price if its a carrier, there could be the slight problem that winning the tournament has been more expensive then buying one. so i guess itll be bigger, titan maybe. I show u how to lead your fleets check it here |

There is a heavy basis on being stupidly rich, I guess thats why its an Alliance tournament. Sure bob have a chance, but I would deffinatly not bet money on it. I'm sure some unknown team few people have heard of will more liekly win it.

The first Alliance that springs to mind to win this thing is The Red Skull. I think they have a real chance.

I'd think the true test of people so confident in their pvp skill and ability to win through the use of ability+expensive equipment would be an open battle environment with podding allowed no? To my eyes its artifical and restrictive to rule out ecm and ban podding.

Sure Jasmine, podding should be allowed in my opinion.
ECM could be allowed if it was a different format, like with warping around an entire system etc, just would be totally absurd in the format CCP decided to go with and considering how ludicrously overpowered it currently is.

^^ Understatement of the year, TBH. Yeah, we've been looking forward to this for a long time.

Having flown with ISS earlier this year on contract, you can bet we won't underestimate them.

If we make it, it's not "BoB" that worries me; it's TWD.

if peopple are not allowed to refit it could be interesting.
The weird setup may win against 1 team but not against another.
So team A would win if it went against team B but not C. And C would loose against B so hopes A beats B so they can win.
if you understand what I mean.
Its a shame they allow the pirate implants, they are so good, not having them is a real pain.

ECM is dissallowed for obvious reasons. Mainly that you can easily force an indefinate stalmate with it.

1) People need to stop whining about implants... What if I have no jumpclones and all I have is a set of +3 Slave Implants?
Do I need to take the time to train another skill (Infomorph Psychology) so I can get a clone with no implants so I can be weak like the rest of the whiners? Why not ask the whiners to spend some time making isk so they don't need to eat from the trash bin, crying about how pirate implants cost a whole 500 mil for a full set... WAAAA!
2) Podding shouldn't be an issue... Who will be dumb enough to fit scramblers? I wish it was that way just so dumb ppl would waste midslots...
How does podding someone give me a better chance of winning? Isn't it just a way of rubbing salt in the wound?
3) ECM would make for incredibly boring fights, and every team would have a Rook and Scorpian on it...
Are people really that naive about how PVP works? Its not difficult to imagine why allowing ECM is a bad idea, but I guess if you have never PVP'd, how could you imagine?
Coalition Of Carebear Killers is gonna win it all IMO... (They owe me ISK cuz I gave them their name)
Sex0r > you're bounty turns me on.. you seem like the kind of amarrian to dominate me
