It is flagged. Only right now the mechanics relyes on the players them selves, and not NPC's. Which is as it should be.
dunno really, you could liken it to being shot on the street, the cops shooting the bloke who shot you, and then completely ignoring the guys friend who then comes along and steals your wallet from your corpse.

No you can't. Because this is a game, where entire thing is controlled by code stored on a computer some place in Europe.
Not to mention the other things concord does, that a RL police wouldn't do, like ignore theft, and murder which can happen in front of them.

Oh well, another of the usual soap opera threads... Actually i was one of the people who think that high sec. should be safe at all times, and that blowing players in there was griefing... Well, voila, take this from the official EVE PLAYER GUIDE written BY CPP:
- Don't play the game in AFK mode. This game is not designed with this kind of playing style in mind and you should NEVER consider your ship and character safe while being away from your computer.
- Don't expect CONCORD to keep you immune to attacks or ship losses. Like in the real world, law enforcers often arrive too late at the scene of the crime, and even though they able to punish the criminal, they can't always prevent the crime.
- Don't rely on Sentry Guns to keep you a 100% safe. Especially not when traveling in unsecured space. There are several tactical ways to avoid sentry gun fire, which are NOT considered to be an exploit.
This was taken from the Tips and Hints section. So stop saying that suiciding in high sec. to kill players is an exploit. It is not, and it's CCP's desire that it remains like that. End of discussion.

I care for your opinion, as i thought like you once. Maybe it is the 3+ years i spent in this game, that turned me from an extremist carebear into a pvper, then finally a criminal.. or it was always in me, just took time to come out. I don't know.
Anyway.. it is an interesting experience for me to look at all those comments i would have made a good two years ago myself, and every one of them is a proof to me, that in fact my choice was the right one.
Oh and btw: prolly the only reason i started pirating was that after my corp disbanded, i got 'free' of any commitments, and decided to try the one thing i did not try before - thats piracy. Too bad you and your kind are soo easy to judge things you have not even bothered to try out yourself... Now we get to the root of the problen with EVE. The skill system. Could it be that your attiude has changed simply because you are one of the elite? With some 16/20million skill points? Most of the "whines" would go away if the playing feild were leveled. No skill tree. Every item available to those who could afford them. Then real skill would prevail, not some artifical time in game system. Are those of us new to the game only here to provide easy targets for your type of player? Is this what CCP intends? If so this game will expire.

Well i have been in the game for about 9 days now. Today I got my first death in a bestower... It was my fault and really wasnt worried about the loss considering i had no cargo and made 12 mil running holoreels to one station and the next in the same sector for about 1.5 mil a pop. it was a .4 space, but i was drunk last night and risked the opportunity luckily noone was around so i took advantage of it... something told me i needed to warp back home but about to pass out i elected to stay at the station... today i warped back home I was met at the last .4 stargate by One Nutter... I already knew i was dead... but i tried to auto warp to a different sector but before I knew it Mjollnir uncloaked right behind me and both proceeded to pound the hell out of me with Phoenix missles.. i was podded after 2-3hits. they didnt even open a chat they blew my pod to hell and i recloned back at home station... I maybe lost about 400K worth of eq since I had plat insurance on it... I opened the channels called them some dirty mofos we all LOL then they both blocked me... I learned my lesson the hard way. but my kill rights on both those puds ends on my birthday... whoa what a birthday present to collect some bounties... hehe.

*Hint*
You can hear the cargo scanner doing it's thing while aproching the gate. The scanning scout is normaly 1-3 jumps from the gankers most of the time.
Another thing. Be evil and turn the tables on the gankers. whip up a fast nanoed up hauler for dirt cheap and scoop the can before the hauler alt gets it.

seriously, suicideganking is nothing new. neither is ganking someone who flipped your can by accident.
not that it matters to me at all, seeing as how i cant go into hisec anyway

Seems to me there;s a few simple changes which would solve the problem:
1. Trial accounts not allowed to cause damage to anyone in a corp they aren't at war with in high-sec 2. One sec rating per account (not per character). One character loses sec - they all do.
That would stop trial account/disposable alt abuse - the rest is perfectly legitimate.

YOu dont need a huge fleet with you to discourage gankers. 1 empty industrial and one Bs will normaly discourage most empire gankers. you lose your industrial or what ever you are hauling with. your corp mate int he empty one picks it up. with the tech 2 haulers this is very easy as it requires a large gank to take down the hauler to begin with. the second hauler doubles the size of the gank needed and the battleship pretty much ensures that anyone touching the CAn besides members of your corp will get blow up. yeah maybe some inty can grab some stuff ETC. but if your hauling it in a hauler. you are probley hauling amounts that a inty will have a hard time makeing a dent in.
This tactic doesnt depends on stopping the gank only on stopping the gankers from getting anything from thier lost.
even one BS escourt will Deter most gankers jsut because they know the hauler they send to scoop the fruits of thier labors will get blown to kingdom come.

I actually don't see it as healthy for the game that even in 1.0, might will be right. There are people out there who will kill newbs who just got their first Retriever, Hoarder, anything - if they get money. 1.0 and similar is already what we consider unprofitable in terms of... EVERYTHING - if a trader wants to be safe, why can't they be safe? In newb corps we keep telling new ones who've recently lost their ships in lowsec, that that's the danger behind going to lowsec. Quicker money, quicker deaths. The game doesn't balance itself out, because in large it allows for a great deal of personal freedom (though Conc might get you for some of those freedoms). Instead it is the players who have the task of balancing the game, but most pirates I've met will only do so according to their own agenda. Well huh-hey, big surprise! In the end we all do, but some have more consideration towards others. Twenty-ish Ravens at a highsec gate taking out a freighter, sorry, it doesn't strike me as right. Not wanting to be shot anywhere I go is not called being a whiney, chicken carebear, it might just be about me trying to have fun in the game, the ways I find it fun. To me, that happens to exclude my death when I do not provoke people in highsec.
The game is hard to learn already, CCP will lose quite some people over these issues.

I read about 6 pages before my eyes started to blur, so if this has already been mentioned then i appoligise.
It seems to me that this is a game of counters per se, ie there is weapon that deals EM damage but there is a shield to counter that EM damage.
To the best of my knowledge (please correct me if i'm wrong) there is no counter to the cargo scanner. It seems to me that there should be a mod that is a false reading projector.
This could work either way, make a hauler that is carying 1 unit of ore look like a T2 BPO, or vice versa.
After a few nice ships are lost with no profit I'm sure that will cut down on this practice considerably, but it wouldn't elimanate the spying side of it.

Easy 'fix' right there. Why isent cargo scanning counted as an agression? You have no buisness looking into cargospaces of haulers, unless you are looking for a ship to blow up.

It is really easy to stop high sec gankers in their Battleship from ganking you. Hire someone in a Logistics Cruiser for x amount of isk for keeping you alive. I offer those services for a flat fee of 5mil. If my shield transporters fail to keep you alive you get a refund obviously and hell its even possible to grab your can from them. why are there cargo scanners and ship scanners in this game why is there even a security status system if empire ganking wouldnt be "intended" to be possible , i mean 0.0 ganking doesnt give a sec hit.
and yes if you put all you ever had into a t1 hauler you can be considered not too smart, and for the rest all you can do is rant

Perhaps the boosting increases coming in Kali will allow a ship to make it to the gate or allow time for Concord to do their job before the insurance exploiter can blow the ship.
