Afternoon all ... firstly.. who shot the hamster that is powering EVE? Sessh ..
Secondly after returning to eve I am looking at my options.. Keep in mind this time round I will only be using 1 toon
Indy route....Mining, A pain since no hauler ? how do people get around it ? If in a corp fair enough but with my job I need to be able to log off at any given point as im mostly on-call for the hospital. Also much isk for a solo or social miner ?
Wormholes...What are they like ? Heard some negative things about the people that dare to live in them. Again would I run into problems running 1 toon?
FW...This sounds fun, low cost pvp by the sounds of it?
If read my previous post im a old eve vet from 2003-2007-2009 era before I quit..
If any one has a tempting offer for me corp wise drop me a message, till then I thank you all for your advice and tips on the above |

Lets clarify that mining isn't industry. It's busy work.
Industry is manufacturing, which you can totally do with just one toon. GÇ£Die tryingGÇ¥ is the proudest human thing. |

Lets just clarify that you got the point without me going into a huge essay :)
Every aspect of EVE is hard work from being a pirate to a minner to running an alliance... work is work |

Yes, just be willing to lose some ships if you get called away immediately.

Do you know what twit means?
Listen... Your the minority of annoying twits on this community. This is a forum for people to discuss eve. You really didn't need to reply if you have nothing better to say.
In my eve career I co formed the first pirate alliance in the north. Co founded the next New venal Alliance, Phoenix Alliance and then been apart of some other great alliances in the north.. I did a lot but I called it a day..
Now I want to dwell into a aspect of eve I have never done, and thus coming back to eve after years out im rusty and simply asking the majority of good people for tips and advice...
That is what I loved about eve is the great friendly people in eve..it did/has a great community.. your the minority I no longer have time for |

Anywho OP to answer your question. I only have one character and have no problems in regards to stuff. PvP, Wormholes, whatever, it doesn't matter how many accounts you have so long as you find the right corp to roll with. If you have someone to always do something with, one character doesn't matter as an issue...
And for the record, wormholes are great dont let other people put you off them. Quoted from Doc Fury: "Concerned citizens: Doc seldom plays EVE on the weekends during spring and summer, so you will always be on your own for a couple days a week. Doc spends that time collecting kittens for the on-going sacrifices, engaging in reckless outdoor activities, and speaking in the 3rd person." |

Thank you for the reply. Back when I played I had 3 accounts so trying to use 1 account is just taking its time to adjust hehe. Hoping once I acquire a new toon I can find some new friends as I do not wish to return to 0.0 alliances where a few old friends still live in.

In wormhole space its everyone else that you have to watch put for, no local means someone can possibly get the drop on you.
Its not for everyone but its worth trying them out. No local makes for excellent cloaky stalking.
To be honest, it depends on your timezone and what you're looking for in said WH group. With wormholes, because you live out of one hole, you often see the same people over and over. PvP is great fun, but everyone goes round in T3s and similar.
I would suggest getting a list compliled about what you want from a corp in wh space and what you need tz wise and putting up a recruitment thread. Let the wormhole corps come to you. There are some more prominent names, but that sticky on the subforum will give you the names of the bigger corps and what they offer.
Hope that helps. Quoted from Doc Fury: "Concerned citizens: Doc seldom plays EVE on the weekends during spring and summer, so you will always be on your own for a couple days a week. Wormholy of course. No really, they are a great place and there is no problem with only having one character, provided that you don't plan on doing things alone. Yes, some people in w-space are a bit.... well, different. However you can just shoot them in the face if you don't like them, without having to explain yourself to Concord afterwards. Basically it's like nullsec without all those nasty things like cynos, local, TiDi and broken sov system. |

Thank you for the reply and these of the type of great replies I expected from people in eve . People like yourself never cease to amaze me as there is simple just some great and helpful people about.. Which is why I came back to meet some new friends and work in a team without it getting all hardcore pos ops etc

Multiplayer doesn't necessarily mean working cooperatively.
Yes more is accomplished in groups. We don't need to run down that tired old rhetoric.
CCP could look at ways to make people (like myself and others) who have limited free time have meaningful activities to do than simply cough up more scourge missiles or farm tags. I'd even call it their second biggest challenge. The biggest challenge is encouraging people to play together. The BBD is evidence of their success here. Next they can think about how to create ways to keep the remaining 92% of their potential playerbase interested through working on *objectively better* solo content.
EVE has an 8% player retention rate. Most eve players fly solo. Out of the total player count at any time, ignoring ISBoxers and bots and afk cloaker alts... the number of real human players must be very small indeed. Over 5.5 million accounts have been created. 8% of them have stayed. At my conservative guess maybe 5% of the population is actually human and furthermore only 1% actually play in alliances or corps above 50 members.
That's my feelings on the matter. https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=348015 T3 OHing subsystem review and rebalance https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=290346 LP faction weapon store costs rebalancing

Can't comment on wormholes but in regards to fw or anything empire wise then yes having 1 account should not be a problem at all.I live in fw space , not in one of the factions though , and the only reason i use my 2nd account is to jf stuff in wich would be cheaper by just letting black frog do it to be honest.
And if you're bored / too much used to nullsec then FW should be fun.Mostly frigs up till cruisers but a lot of pewpew going on there , usually you find a fight within a few minutes ,

Without even talking about the financial aspect, i find using only one account (and only one char) more immersive. You can better slip into your toon's skin, and feel a greater sense of accomplishment whatever goal you reach. Favoritism is good - CCP 2013 |

I find it keeps the wallet watered and costs you minimal time every few days to maintain.

Well to be honest most people would say PI is ideal for the "single account but multiple char" player as you can train your main up for PvP etc while investing maybe a PLEX or so into each of the free characters on your main account and giving them some low sec planets.
If you get bored with the PI and just play your main for a while its no great loss as they are not training anyway and you can always fire them up again if you get short of ISK. |

I'll just add that in FW it's easy to make ISK while you're pvping. You get LPs both for killing war targets and for conquering FW complexes (which simply means orbiting a visible-to-all deadspace beacon for 10-30 minutes).
